I instantly removed the Map, Map Markers, Compass, Clock/calendar, Loot Respawn, Biome Progression, Challenges, Starter Quest, New Player Protection, Trader Questing, Zombie Digging, Trader Rekt. I turned the crafting stations in the world to 5%. I think I'll probably turn off Jar return also because they just annoy me in my backpack. I turned off Elites because electrified zombies running around doesn't make sense in "zombie world" afaic. I might have that wrong though...are the rock throwers and spitters the elites, or is it the blue and red ones? The heat map generation is too high by default, I'll turn that down, too many screamers early.
I actually quite like it. I find that I don't need the map anyway, I always thought biome progression, challenges, trader quests made it too much RPG and not enough Survival. Anyone with any time in the game is just annoyed by the tutorial quest and new player protection. There are calendars in the world to see what day it is. I think I heard there are clocks you can make? I play co-op at the moment but unfortunately you can't turn off your ally's arrow. You could decide not to ally but that's just too many issues. Digging is neither here nor there, I build in POI's anyway but shovel hands is silly. No loot respawn keeps me moving around. I don't mind having traders, but I can't deal with Trader Rekt's dialogue. I'll probably turn the dialogue back on when I find another trader besides him.
I want to start gauging interest in a multiplayer server with more "realistic" mechanics, at least as far as how you experience the world. Trying to create the most immersive experience I can with the tools they give us. It basically turns back time to when I thought 7D2D was at it's peak as far as immersion went, plus some new options to make it seem more bleak and apocalyptic again. Unfortunately, I haven't found a multiplayer (25+ players) server that even comes close to something like this and I'm not sure I'll have the inclination to start trying to set it up. Or maybe I will.
I would love any suggestions you think would bring a more apocalyptic/classic zombie feel to the game.
