Ok, I have a few questions regarding farming. The first is; investing in
farming is it so that a player can make all seeds, or is there another
benefit? I have never invested in farming. An old guilty pleasure was
tilling the ground around my Poi. Don't ask me why but found it was a bit
cathartic. Like the Night Night radio sign off in Dying Light.
The next question is; is it for being able to make farm plots cheaply?
Because the resources to make them are not inconvenient for me to get.
I check anything lootable as I pass, and once I get the one mans junk
book other than the higher tier items, I get more than enough to make
the amount I need, cobble and cement I scrap for stone.
I find and receive seeds, throughout the game, the majority of the time
I either drop them, unless it's like a pumpkin to make jack o lanterns,
or supercorn that has limited use for me.
So from personal points of view what are the other benefits?
If it is for simple food fast, I keep a supply of yucca for a 24hour
emergency healer. Eggs as a supplement, and I will buy jars, if the two
day outings don't include poi raids, and my supply drops, and go to the
wasteland to get them filled.
Getting these things is not convenient, because I have elevated continuous
spawn, quite similar to what they did with 2.6. and my vultures attack on sight.
Is is mostly for coop, early game convenience, speed, completion, catharsis
or META?
I generally put 1 point in living of the land to harvest random crops or flowers in the world. It helps a lot getting double the yields in the early game. But the other 2 levels can wait for late game when your hunger and thirst bars reach 200 and you need to constantly eat and drink unless you've got good food/drinks, which requires all the crops to make. And super corn, it sells for like 5.5k per stack (7k with buffs). Quality 6 farmers gear + living of the land 3 makes it very easy to get rich. Combine that with salvage operations (electrical parts etc also go for 7k) and you get this:
