PC V2.5 EXP b20 update - b23 hotfix

By lack of a "stable" thread: The 2.5 dropped on PS5 yesterday eve. Today I started the game and my gyrocopter is gone. Not so very stable I would say...

Are we ever going to get 64 zombie hordes again? I like the reintroduction of these survival features but I stopped playing 2.0 a while ago in favor of 1.1 since that was the last version that the game had 64 zombies on horde night. Also the game still lies about 64 max since it's only 30 but for some reason you can have 64 zombies in an infested poi? I know that porting the game to console had some hand in its removal but I think the option should still be there if your system can handle it. Or at least give the modders a way to do it...

The farming on the ground isn't gonna be a thing due to memory issues and limited resources
How does this shortcoming appears itself in practice? And how does it differ in code from doing it in vegetables plots?
In my mod, the fields are planted to the limit of visibility, and only then could it cause some freezes on weaker machines.
Small gardens don't slow down performance at all. I think it won't be a strain even on the primitive processor of an dendy likes ps5 or xbx.

It's the same mechanic as growing trees. So why are growing trees still in the game?

You would have to ask The Fun Pimps directly, and ask for specifics. Because up to this point they have only told us that it is from memory issues.

Secondly you asked why are trees still allowed to be ground planted and not crops. Im thinking it is immersion breaking, plus the limit of having trees planted 5 blocks apart limit the memory load, so it isn't too hard of most computers.

Finally you mentioned small gardens don't effect the game, what about the people growing large gardens with over 100 plants?

but then who forbids us to grow 100 trees at a distance of 5m from each other, so that the server performance does not decrease?
Moreover, the players like to pinch the trees "for future use" as soon as they receive a fir cone from the tree. Right in the same place where it was cut down. There are trees everywhere that they have even forgotten about and don't remember where they were planted.

It's exactly the same story with caves.
They tell us that invisible geometry underground eats up frame rates because it's being drawn in vain.
But at the same time, under every house, in a dense city that eats fps itself, contrary to sound logic, dug caves with dozen of levels down.

But that doesn't count for frame rates....

It is likely that it's still in your game, but at a location you were at earlier. I believe consoles have access to viewing the console where you can see the warnings and errors and stuff? If so, scroll through that a minute or so after you load into the game and look for a line that lists all vehicles in the game. You'll see their locations. You should see your gyrocopter and its location and can then go there to get it.

I've seen the drone disappear permanently, but I've never had a vehicle disappear. I've only had them relocate. I'm not on console, but it should be the same situation there. Take a look and see if you can find it.

Hell I think just planting it on just dirt would be fine, like how mushrooms can grow anywhere

Tnx. We used to be able see the log but scrolling trough it was nearly impossible: It jumps back to the last new line every time a line is added. Maybe I have to send the log as bug report so customer service can tell me where it is.

Or just restart to experience the full 2.5 experience, it is a different game after all.

Yeah, if there is a lot going on, that can be a problem even on PC. But if you just join and aren't playing MP with a lot of people, it shouldn't be moving too quickly when you first start. And if you're playing with multiple people but you know them, you could ask them to not do anything for a minute while you look.

This is what you're looking for:
2025-12-20T22:08:36 123.568 INF 2750 VehicleManager read #0, id 2338, vehicleMinibike, (342.5, 38.0, 579.2), chunk 21, 36
2025-12-20T22:08:36 123.569 INF 2750 VehicleManager read #1, id 2339, vehicleMinibike, (339.9, 38.0, 580.8), chunk 21, 36
2025-12-20T22:08:36 123.570 INF 2750 VehicleManager read #2, id 672, vehicleBicycle, (336.3, 38.0, 564.3), chunk 21, 35
2025-12-20T22:08:36 123.571 INF 2750 VehicleManager read #3, id 2340, vehicleBicycle, (336.7, 38.0, 571.1), chunk 21, 35

In that, the coordinates are in the parentheses. Ignore the middle number as that's just elevation.

The alternative to trying to see the info in the console would be to backtrack your path for the last 15 minutes or so (usually less) and you should find it along the way. That's challenging because it's hard to remember where you were or to know if you're right on track or off by a bit. But a gyrocopter is pretty visible in the distance, so it might not be too bad. Definitely easier than if it was a bicycle, minibike, or motorcycle that is laying on its side in the grass. Once you're close enough, you should see the icon on your compass showing where it is as long as you've at some point placed it on the ground rather than just using it after someone else placed it on the ground.

100 trees that far apart are going to be in different chuncks??? So they aren't too memory dense. That's my guess.

But again. And I can't stress this enough. Its pointless to ask anyone other than the fun Pimps this question, because no one else knows

Last I did before update was visiting trader and housekeeping on a crafting base next to trader, normaly that takes me way over 15 minutes so it should have been there for more than 1 save. Yeah, I know... I'm slow... :geek:
My horde base is half a map away and it does show the motorbike icon parked next to it.
