V2.2 b3 Stable

I know that. But usually the update get´s announced before the update is live, at least when a new version drops, like here. Seeing it was 44mb i was assuming it´s a hotfix not V2.2 stable.

They Just have to ■■■■ing announce an update before it goes live when they drop one that is for sure gonna break mods. This game is only alive because of mods, they should respect that more. It´s not hard, just post the announcement before you upload the file.
You know that updates have the potential to break saves and mods.

You know that there are steps you could have taken to avoid that.

You did not take those steps for reasons that have not been explained.

Now your save is broken, and you are mad at the devs for not telling you a thing you claim to already know.
For long-term play, always lock into the numbered version on which your save was created. This will NOT auto-update.
I know that.
i was assuming
You probably also know that TFP is historically bad at communication.

Relying on a prompt announcement from them as the only protection for your save was a poor tactic that did not work out for you.

You should take the lesson and move on.

Learn to actually use the tools at your disposal.
It´s not hard

Ok, let's look at this a bit...

You say that you pay attention to updates and will stop them if you want. You say that you didn't stop this because it was a small update even though a small update can break a mod as shown here. You decided to accept the update without waiting for patch notes. You then went to load your game that clearly showed a yellow version number, indicating that it isn't the same version. You should be aware that if it's just a hotfix or other build update within the same game version that the version of your save will not be in yellow and that it is only going to be in yellow if it's an update that changes the version as that's been the case for a long time. Therefore, you should have understood that the game was a new version and not just a hotfix and so you should have looked for, or waited for, the patch notes to see if it was something you should not use until you update your mods. You could then have reverted to 2.1 if that was what you wanted to do.

Maybe you weren't paying attention, but that's not anyone's fault but your own. You have the option to lock in a game version so it will not update until you choose to update. You have the option to look at the version of your save to know if there was an update that could potentially cause problems with either the save itself or a mod. Their lack of posting the patch notes first doesn't prevent you from avoiding the situation entirely. Again, maybe they should have posted the patch notes first, but that doesn't mean they are responsible for you not paying attention.

Now, if you just want to vent, I get that. Sometimes you just need to vent when something happens, no matter whose fault it is. But you can't say that you didn't have the opportunity to see that there was a full update that changed the game version and that you could have just waited until you saw the patch notes before trying to load your save, or that you couldn't set the game to not update until you wanted to update it. You have options available to avoid this situation and chose not to use them and didn't pay attention to the update. That is no one's fault but your own.

@Riamus My fault for trusting TFP i guess. But it´s not really just my fault. I stand by what i said, stay at a logic workflow. Announcement before release. That´s called Qol for customers. Should be naturally given tbh.

Okay. You said it. We'll hold you to it. Any further posts from you on the subject makes you a hypocrite and a liar. You're not a hypocrite or a liar, are you? No? Okay then. :)

I am done playing the game for now, not talking about it. So keep your passive agressive insults where no sun shines. And even if you see me playing, that will be me continuing the current playtrough afk ind god mode as a host as i am not an ashole that ruins the current game for my friends. I rather play FO76 meanwhile, yeah i rather play a bugthesda game than this atm. It´s that bad.

I think taking some time away from the game would be best. Focus your attention on something else and come back later when you feel up to playing again.

Yeah, if patch note release timing is enough to cause you this much agony I'd say you need to evaluate if you even like the game anymore. Haha.

It´s stunning how many people defend such sloppy behaviour. In other industries having a workflow against normal logic would be unthinkable. But well everything that has fanbois doesn´t have logic usually.
Its called "leadership"... ususally a ceo of the business would over see such basic things but after all these years TFP gave us a twitch streamer making crucial calls and decisions. What your complaining about is basic 101 stuff.
The more addressing issue to me is figuring out who keeps removing all the good stuff and replacing it with bad, and why?

removing all the good stuff and replacing it with bad
You know that what you think is good (all the PVP stuff you want) would be considered bad for most of the players. So should they avoid adding or changing things just because some people think it is bad? You'd lose out on basically all your PVP things that you want. :)

I've said this before and probably will again... any change or new feature, no matter what it is, will always make some people happy and upset others. What is good for one person is bad for another and vice versa. Claiming that they are always making bad changes just reflects your own opinion on what the game should be. But there will be plenty of others who like those changes and consider them to be good changes.

The game will never be "perfect" for 99% of the players. You might find a small number who like every single thing in the game as it is without wanting any changes to it, but those would be very few people. Everyone else will want something to be changed, added, or removed.

TFP, or any other devs for any other game, will never make a game that everyone likes. They shouldn't even try. Giving in to complaints is a good way to ruin a game. It's one thing to make some changes and adjustments to make a feature better for more people, such as some of the changes to biome hazards or storms. But once they start making changes to things that have been in the game for over a year because people complain about it, then you start to fall into the abyss. When devs try to please everyone, the game will end up pleasing no one because it just gets to be a muddy mess. It is far better for them to stick to their plan for the game and only make minor adjustments based on feedback rather than try to make big changes just to please people. Doing that can break your player base. Of course, the game as "been out" for over a decade, so they've already made the majority of any money they will from the game, so breaking the player base won't hurt them much financially. Some, but not as much as it would have been if it wasn't available for so long. Even so, they should avoid giving in to the complaints.
