PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

Hello, will there be a wind indicator? Whether by icon or by natural elements? Movement of vegetation or something like that?
Unless something has changed, the shortgrass, waves as velocity changes, and the trees shimmy a bit.
But there is no directional wind, or at least at the last conversation about it. The tall grass and a few
of the other cutouts don't move. It kind of works like a shader, and speeds up the video as the velocity
variable goes up. Plus you will have particles in the form of storms and undulating fog, clouds are on a
different speed timer, some of the lighter weight armor may wave. But not curtains if you were thinking
about them, they are more rigid body or have been so far. No anemometer or wind veins, although they
would be a nice visual. That's the most that I have tested, But there could always be more surprises.

I can already see all the implications and comments IF they added directional wind to the game... :sneaky:

- "Why do the zombies smell me even when I'm downwind?"
- "Hey, why doesn't wind move my gyrocopter in the wind direction when flying?"
- "I don't see the rain/snow slanted according to wind direction!"

And so on and so forth.

Hehe, true, people are nitpicky by nature, and instead of appreciating things, we point out flaws. In any case, whatever they do is well done. I think the work they are doing is fantastic, and there will always be someone who doesn't like something, someone who has better ideas about how things should be done, etc.

Just to measure expectations, that is not technically an “approaching” storm. Those storm clouds remain along the biome border of whatever biome is experiencing a hazardous storm as an indication that a storm is happening.

If you stand still that storm front won’t come to you but it does feel very dramatic heading towards it and entering the biome.

Thank God for it i just hope performance wise it will be okay and I also wounder what the storm overhaul will be

Ahhhh, man that would have been epic having that thing approach you!

Soooo....Eyekandy it is.....for now. <he said with an sinister grin>.

I would still like those peak stamps in a moddable format, strictly for
educational purposes, I swear, on my precious.

And thanks a lot Toto; erm...I mean Meganoth, ever since the the first page,
unless it's an animated gif, Meganoth has planted a recurring subliminal
seed in my brain. Hopeful...but dubious, but still seeing the potential.

It may not be the new G.I.Joe with the kung fu grip, But it's still a new
toy for me, and I got my tools and blue prints ready.;)
