Lately ive been with spears but I get bored of just using the rifle that's why I wish we had more of a open weapon build system rather then strict builds

I haven't messed with knives but knives I always keep as a back up but im not a fan of the agility perks aside from parkore

And knuckles late game ive seen can be fun but im just not a fan them early game im on survivalist and ive died twice with them. You need to be a drunk in order to use it.

Im not saying remove them..more varied is great.

Playing around with damage type susceptibility on zombies would be fun ways to balance them too! The current game weapons can be classified as slashing, blunt, fire, electrical, explosive and piercing. I imagine that the skinny zombies like Tom Clark would be weak to blunt damage since it would be easy to hit their bones with a sledgehammer, but fat zombies like Big Momma would we insulated against a hammer and would need a slashing weapon to cut away at the flesh. Burnt zombies should be immune to fire damage. Stuff like that.

I like this idea and maybe adding mods on your weapons help add that type of damage like the old days with clubs like imagine a blunt end on your spear or a spike on the sledge hammer.

One size fits all is nice but more depth would be cool.

This has never made sense to me when people say it. I use spears. I also use a pistol and then a desert vulture as backup. I don't use rifles until I get a sniper rifle and only use that on horde night because I enjoy it. For normal play, it's spears with a pistol/vulture backup. I do just fine with the perk system the way it is. I often don't even put points into pistols until mid game because it isn't my main weapon and so I don't need the bonuses. They might be nice, but are certainly not needed. By mid game, I have plenty of points to spread out into whatever I want, including a second attribute. For that matter, I often max out 3 different attributes by mid game, or close to it. I like having high parkour, so I do agility. I like getting extra quest rewards, so I like daring adventurer and so I do intellect. And since my main weapon is spear, I do perception. It's never been a problem. The idea that you can't put points into other attributes just doesn't make sense since I do it all the time without any problem.

While this is true, it's a bit of a problem in terms of being able to craft them. Which admittedly isn't necessary, it's just a bit weird having a q6 t3 melee weapon along with a q1 pistol.

My main issue is you dont get the perks of other weapons. Like rifles kill bonus, ars dps bonus, limb damage bonus, etc

I don't really have problems with that, though. I still get magazines. They may not level up as quickly, but they still level up. And for a backup, that's not a problem. And if I really want to do so, I can put one point into gunslinger and it will increase magazine drops for the cost of just one point.

Yes. And are you using multiple weapons as a MAIN weapon? Probably not. You likely use one main weapon and have a backup/secondary weapon or two. Backups normally don't need all of the bonuses, at least not right away. How often do you need all the bonuses from a backup weapon before you level up enough to have some points you can put into it? By the time I have any need to have my pistol with higher perks, I have enough levels to easily afford to do so.

Yep. Just always amuses me to be running around with a Q6 Steel Spear and a pipe machine gun. :)

Why would you die? It's easy to defeat everything in the early game with your main weapon. By the time anything gets more difficult, you should have plenty of points to spend on your second weapon.

Because sometimes people die? I recall Roland telling stories before about getting killed in POIs.
