It's PC and no mods at all as we're playing on friends server. Oddly i never (at all) have this issue when i'm alone ie not playing on server, and as i've posted before, i have many different (ie separate) game folders with various combo's on mods in each, and had only ever started to see this happen in 1.2 versions (friend and i have played extensively on his server since A21.something.or.other and the only bugs/oddness i ever experience in A21 on his server was (extremely infrequent) game crashes

 
hi, @faatal, please tell, will the "ReplaceMaterial" function be returned in entityclasses xml? or is it possible to introduce an additional function to indicate the "weight" of each zombie material? The reason is simple - in my modification, I want to make specific zombies in specific places with specific textures, but I can't.

This is definitely someone leaving items behind. Always look and make sure the container is not looted. If it says search, someone left stuff behind. Which is why you never experienced it in single player. I seen this many times on servers with people playing at different times. Not everyone takes everything. Some even leave valuables behind like ammo they aren't using, but everything is valuable to me lol

 
Why is it when any player joins a dedicated server there is a pause in the game? Seriously it's like 3 to 4 seconds that containers become inaccessible and some players experience the zombie freezing in place.  I know I can't be the only one that has this happen. wth
Reminds me of when I rented a Nitrado server. When a 3rd person joined all 3 of us became delayed in opening chests, etc. They blamed A15 but it was definitely inferior hardware. Opened a dedicated on my PC the same day and never went back to any rented server. Although at the time my Internet couldn't keep up when 8 of us were online and it started happening again. Completely went away when I had sufficient upload speed. 

'fraid not, there's only the 2 of us playing, and these are containers/vehicles in new areas (that neither of us have been to yet)
Do you know if he leaves the server online? 

 
his server isn't set to allow anyone in except me and if ever he plays alone ie before he's sent me an invite and i haven't joined straight away, he's just at the base upgrading defences. As i say i don't worry about it, it doesn't cause any actual issues

 
I can't remember if it's happened in POI's but the better answer is i definitely only remember it happening in containers out in the streets, and vehicles that are in the streets; and i've definitely never had this happen prior to 1.x versions ie in A21 versions i never had this happen

Yeah, I deleted my post when I saw my question was already answered by you in a previous post (i.e. when you said it was in new areas you never were in before)

There is a SwapMats property mentioned in entityclasses.xml that sounds like it can do basically what ReplaceMaterial used to do. Maybe try that?

I was wondering how your progress is with the bandits. As I've said in the past, I got the impression this is the most challenging part of the game to develop, so I understand if progress is slow. It would be interesting though, to understand what obstacles you've been encountering while developing the bandit AI and, in general, what the Team says about how to add them to the world of 7D2D.

Specifically:

  1. Has the Team been working on bandits at all in the last months, or are you waiting to finish the other changes first?
    (if the answer is no, you may want to ignore the following questions)
  2. What is the most challenging part in the development of the bandit's AI?
  3. Has the Team come up with a way to add bandits into the world (Random, dedicated POI's, story) and how?

1 Programming is not working on bandits until 2.0 is out as those of us who will be doing the work are fully working on 2.0 features, bug fixes and optimizations.

3 Yes, the bandit code I worked on previously has wandering bandits like wandering zombies spawn. For POIs they would switch zombies to bandits and maybe both.

4 No, but we will refine them after 3.0 like we do with a lot of features.

cracks me up and makes me laugh everytime i see people wanting bandits....

Play PVP if you want bandits... Dont you guys / gals realize yet on pvp there is real life bandits ? There is no ai bandits that exist that can reproduce what real people do
Maybe this is getting a little off topic for the dev diary but PVP in 7dtd is a niche for a reason. The devs don't want it to be a focus of the game afaik.
A lot of people, myself included, also don't enjoy PVP. It becomes too sweaty, everything shifts to the meta too strongly, people get salty. I get salty.
I'm getting older (am 28), I can't be bothered.
AI bandits are super relevant for adding some long term interest to gameplay imo.
