Very sorry, I've asked similar here in the past and no one ever had an issue. I'll find another thread. Thanks for the help though, I have no mods installed.this is not precisely the thread to ask for support.... but remove any mods you might have.
Good to know the difficulty - thxWhoa, you're playing in the wasteland to start off? The biomes are not just visuals! Each biome is progressively harder than the last, with the wasteland as the hardest one. You're already playing the game on hardcore mode! I'm surprised you can survive in the wateland with starter gear, the pine forest (the easiest biome) is plenty hard enough as it is when you have nothing but a stick with a rock on it for a weapon.
Game difficulty is: Pine forest (0 difficulty skulls - easiest) -> Burnt Forest (+1/2 skulls) -> Desert (+1 skull) -> Snow (+1.5 skulls) -> Wasteland (+2 skulls - hardest). Each time you go up a biome, you get more zombies spawning. The difficulty of the zombies also goes up too. In higher biomes you get more of the big zombies, or the feral ones with the yellow eyes, maybe even the green irradiated zombies that heal themselves.
In the alphas there where additional difficulty in each biome with the weather. Deserts made you hot, which used more water and could kill you with dehydration. Snow zones burnt more food, and could freeze you to death with the wrong clothes. That weather system was removed for V1.0, but is on the list of things to be added back sometime next year. The wasteland will then have radiation, which will kill you if you don't have the right gear.

does the wasteland still have random mines or explodying things located in places? i know the version 16 or something before FP's had their legal issue? i came to realize i'm not in the wasteland, but instead in the burnt forest...lol
I the gloomy aspect of the burning forest gave me the vibe of the wateland based on what i remember 10 years ago.
10 years ago on the original 7d2d, if i was running on foot in wastelands, it could be a random point i get heavily damaged or blow up due to some mine or something.
I've explored a small fraction or wasteland vis in the town. fly over it with a gyro copter doing the missions Opening Trade Routes.
nah - i remember experiencing PTSD whenever i entered in that area... i'd be walking along with version 15 or 16 Pre-PF's legal issue when it was still being developed & randomly exploded when walking on grounds. In the old version, it was like an invisible forcefield when i saw the ground go from bright sunny forest into death and gloom wasteland. lolNo random mines anymire in the wasteland. What mines in the wasteland had to do with legal issues though ??? Are you sure you weren't dreaming this?

Knowing if i step in that realm, i had a good chance to experience... umm.. "technical difficulties" with life support ..lol .. and find myself just dead. especially when one is a lower level and health bar isn't high, so there was no wiggle room for boom-boom's. haha
What??? There's definitely random mines in the wasteland. I spent a lot of time in the wasteland and see them everywhere. I read the book so I can walk safely over them, but some animals and zombies aren't so lucky. No random mines anymire in the wasteland. i just threw in "PTSD" as an overkill of my feelings of that area.. a fear factor..lol .. my character in the game, not myself..lol"Legal issue" means issues with the law, like getting sued. PTSD is a health issue. Are you just mixing up the words or is there a link I don't see?

Ooops. Maybe me and my friends always have the book when we enter wasteland, but I can't even remember the last time anyone of us got hit by a wasteland mine, except for the ones around military installations
Another Duke themed as in pre war or post. Cuz I hope we get casinos too raid and loot.@Adam the Waster, to answer your question, lots of POI stuff...
Not too long ago, I finished another Duke themed POI for the commercial district. We are also updating Tier 5 content to be more performant and also improving gameplay where there is opportunity. For example, the last battle in the Shamway factory now allows for some stealth play opportunities should players choose to attempt it.
OMG Paradise Falls (from the movie Legion) was on my list to create a POI and you read my mind.@Adam the Waster, to answer your question, lots of POI stuff...

Didn't you read my message? There is definitely land mines in the Wasteland. It's fact. I go in the wasteland at night all the time run around and kill mutated, zombie bears and dire wolves. You see the glowing read light on the mines as you pass them. I saw many animals and zombies step on one and explode.I'd have to agree with Meganoth, here. Almost positive random mines have been removed from the wasteland. I've travelled the wasteland pretty early in the last couple playthroughs (without getting the perk book) and have never encountered mines unless they were a part of a wilderness POI. I want to say that was a change made back in Alpha 20. Now, there is still a hell of a lot of debris which can damage your vehicle. Maybe that's what you're running over?
I can't remember the last time I've come across a mine in the wasteland away from any POI and I don't use any mods that would remove mines from the wasteland. I think the last time I ever saw one was in A20. They are around certain POI, like military bases, but I haven't noticed them anywhere else. Still, if you're driving through fast, you aren't likely to notice them and I am never walking in the wasteland except at a POI.Didn't you read my message? As I said, I can run anywhere without worries since I read the Wasteland book preventing mines to explode when I step on them.
The mines were never removed since they were introduced in whatever alpha they started in (at least, as far as I know).
Maybe you guys play mods that removes them or something. I play vanilla only (I don't like mods).
