(V1 Series) Vehicle Madness (Updated November 24th 2024)

will the mod ever be compatibile with the newest EFT update? currently whenever i use both of the mods its just drops this error

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night yall!

So, apologies if this has been asked/answered on one of the other posts - didn't find a hit via search. Please redirect me if yall know it's been addressed and I haven't come across that specific thread or answers. 😅🙌

I'm running mods, specifically the Better Biomes and Urban Decay mods amongst others, and they get 'partially' broken via what I suspect is the XML requirements in the Vehicle Madness Biomes.xml. I loose all the details, ground clutter, detritus and other road-based aspects of these mods with VM enabled.

What I'd like to achieve, is a way to still craft, and find VM vehicles in my game world, w/o loosing the 'atmospheric' and looks that BB and UD bring to the world. What, if any, changes could I make to VM to allow this balance? I love the VM mod, and do not want to have to remove it from our daily. Any/all advice is greatly appreciated! Apologies for the late reply ,

a simple fix would be to rename the Urban Decay Mod folder by prefixing it with ZZ as in my screenshot  below , this then loads Urban Decay after VM.   I will in the next update of Vehicle Madness address a permanent fix to avoid any future compatability issues as I also like the emersion that this and the better biomes mods bring to the game on my personal playthrough.

Would probably be same for the biomes mod although I have had VM and better biomes working fine together.    As stated here VM is in process of an update so I fixed  the issue with loading order the for next update.    Hope this helps

Not sure what EFT changes in crafting stuff or the UI ...VM only adds a entry for the VM Vehicle workbench .   I will check it out soon and see if I can find the issue.

Hey Ragsy, good morning/afternoon/evening/night! Wanted to drop a quick update to the issue we were having.

So, while we're sure that adjusting the load-order would (and does) work for 99% of users, we're unfortunately that 1% where it did not (go figure, lol). It very likely may be due to our usage of MO2, and/or one of the many MANY other mods in the pack we use (Smorgasbord+++). However, we did find a work-around that is working stable, with no detriment to your amazing work thus far. We ended up commenting out most of your biomes.xml, with the exception of the 'append' portions. Nothing else was changed. We still get world spawns of VM vehicles in all the places we'd expect them, and can disassemble them for parts. The only things I think we're missing are the detritus spawns that your mod brings in (the tires, rocks/blocks, random loot spawns, gore, etc).

Anyhow, thanks again for the awesome art and craft you bring to the 7DtD community. We hope to see it all live on and continue long into 2.0+! 🍻🫡🙌

You can try this version of the biomes XML which is part of the next version of VM to make compatible with the Better Biomes mod.    

VM update biomes.xml

Just rename old biomes.xml in the Vehicle Madness Directory to V1Biomes.xml or the likes ...... unzip this biomes zip file and then drop the new biomes.xml file in its place and will work fine with the better biomes mod .    The slight difference with this version is it adds some of the repairable vehicles into the biomes. 

The set stuff in this version only affects the vehicle amounts (carsRandomHelper) and wont affect the better biomes mod

I really really love this mod, i am using it since the first version. I tried, but i can't ( dont want to ) play vanilla anymore.

I am looking forward to your evolution with this mod .

But i have one problem: (I searched a lot but could not find a post with the same problem) when i dismantle a wreck it damages the road where the car was, what makes it a bit annoying when driving on the cleared road. Is there a chance to fix that?

It doesn't happen with every wreck, but that's a vanilla problem.
