Just seen this. Good to know thanks. Just an FYI I'm my opinion, if I found a player doing this on my server you would be banned no questions asked and if I was running a GBL program I would add you to it. There is no excuse for cheating in my book and using a exploit is cheating. Thats just an FYI. Many other server owners would do the same, don't be THAT GUY!Exploit. Put a cooking grill in your fire. Making another fireplace. Remove the cooking grill thast already there and place it in your original fireplace. Make another fireplace, remove the two cooking grills in it and place in your original fireplace. Make a new fireplace and remove the four cooking grills already in it and place in your original fireplace - repeat process till you get say 128 cooking grills and use ofr iron in your forge. Doesn't always work but usually does.
It depends how you make your 'deep hard stone' layer. If the ores are wrapped around with gravel (like they currently are), we can dig from surface thru gravel and find ores even with stone/iron tools. If we cannot find ores without steel tools, we are in trouble. So I imagine deep ores are for steel age.
Biome distribution (the current one) is good to me. Makes me travel to different places and establish my mines there.
Just make sure we can mine Iron without the steel tools.
Both of these get my vote. I love your idea Spider, and back it fully! Cant wait for this actually. But is there a way to change the hardstone texture? I personally dont like the bedrock look.Normal stone will go down 10 layers, that is 10 layers whenever stone starts in that biome so dirt, clay, sand and whatever will still be on top like normal. After that 10 layers of stone and whatever other ores we want to spawn there HardStone will replace all normal stone all the way to Bedrock. HardStone will have Bedrock appearance but no Chime when hit, it will have the same health as normal stone but will only be able to be damaged by Steel and Nitroglycerin Explosives. Yes gravel will still surround ore like now so if a player finds a vain they can mine it out even below the HardStone line . The point of HardStone is not to restrict resource gathering but to stop players from building bases below ground in early and mid game. You can still mine out a vain and make a base or find a cave and make a base but that to me feels more natural than just being able to make a stone axe on day one and start digging down to bedrock and then be practically safe the rest of the game. I think this small change will have a HUGE game play effect of forcing players to live and play above ground in poi's or player made bases instead of 90% of players being moles.
Ditto, I like both but don't like your choice of texture for hardstone. Both of these get my vote. I love your idea Spider, and back it fully! Cant wait for this actually. But is there a way to change the hardstone texture? I personally dont like the bedrock look.
I like to have a reason to travel to another biome, or search a specific biome, so i like the idea of having specific ores appear in different biomes. However i would prefer smaller amounts to still be found in every biome. I don't like to be forced (as opposed to encouraged) to move around too much, esp for basic materials because i find that the game gets much easier once you loot the best pois or towns etc, whereas i enjoy surviving just barely with the loot from the first poi i can find and constant 50 zombies after me.Hay guys working on ore distribution. How do we want it? By depth? Biome? SubBiome?
