True Survival

I'd prefer by depth, but after reading a lot of the posts on this, would it be possible to choose prior to terrain generation, before a person started their game? Maybe two files, one by depth, the other by biome and during mod installation the player makes the choice of which file to install?

I don't do that. Too much work to keep updated. I make one Mod that I find challenging to play and enjoy. I make this Mod available for others to play and use as they wish.

Ok how about by Biome and then by height. So we could have maybe two ores per biome and have one near surface and one lower

Here's our ores -

Iron, Lead, Coal, Nitrate, Gold, Silver, Diamonds

Here's our Biomes (GNA MOD) -

Snow, Desert, Plains, Forest, Pine Forest, Burnt Forest, Snowy Pine Forest, Plains Wasteland, Wasteland Hub(only at center)

Any suggestions?

@wolverine576-What other Texture do you suggest for HardStone? Or i could switch it and make normal stone Bedrock texture and HardStone normal stone texture.
Is it possible, to change the color of stone? like shade it or something?

What about making extra iron ore, for example, 2 types of iron, one found closer to surface, one farther down, one yields some ore, other yields extra? Or use a color or texture from another material to color your new stone layer?

@Spider-

Well, gold/silver/diamonds are mostly useless ores, aren't they? Just for sale.

I, personally, consider lead ore useless as well, cause you can easily scavenge more lead, than you'll ever need.

Also, what about oil shale? You did not mention it.

Anyway, here's my suggestion:

Desert: near surface iron + maybe oil shale with occasional diamonds?

Plains: silver and lead? "Galena!" Pretty much useless to mine in the plains then, but I can't think of something more suitable and unique )

Forest: surface coal (after all, it is a biome for begginers), deep lead (to not make it overpowering)

Pine forest: near surface iron, deep lead

Burnt forest: near surface coal and deep iron?

Snow/snow pine forest: near surface gold and nitrate powder lower.

Wasteland: near surface nitrate and iron deeper. (cool biomes with cool ores!)

With SDX supposedly you can add textures but I'm not doing stuff like that right now. I'm trying to get a build out and I would have to learn a lot of new stuff to get a new texture in I'm guessing. I will start looking into adding completely new blocks, 3dmeshes and textures after I have all the other stuff done and a stable build. I consider stuff like that just cosmetic stuff so its usually last on my list to do. But for now we have to use whats in game. That could be the texture on any terrain block so dirt, burnt forest dirt, sandstone stuff like that. For now unless someone has a better idea for a texture I think the Bedrock texture will have to do.

As for the ore distribution how about all biomes have Stone, HardStone, and Gravel. All Biomes have Silver in the top half, Gold in the bottom half and Diamonds small chance everywhere. And do the layers like this-

Snow

Coal

Lead

Desert

Coal

Oil

Plains

Coal

Nitrate

Forest

Coal

Iron

Pine Forest

Lead

Iron

Burnt Forest

Coal

Iron

Snowy Pine Forest

Lead

Iron

Plains Wasteland

Iron

Nitrate

Center Biome

Coal

Iron/Diamonds

So without steel tools we can find iron only in wasteland?

You have to search in game for servers, My server is The Dead Shall Rise

@unlike them-

No I put oil to be both above and below the HardStone line in the Desert. Nitrate and coal are easily available above HardStone line too.

Hi Spider. My son loaded your mod onto our desktop pc. After the world is created and the game starts there are only red question marks in all of the UI displays on screen. Do you know how we can fix this? This computer uses windows 10. Also are your mod updates only released with 7DTD alpha updates requiring a new download at that time? Thanks for all your work still love the mod.

Try to install the mod on your client PC also, make a backup of the Data folder first

I hope this helps. In your MODS subfolder where 7 days to die is installed there should be folder called SMX. Make sure it is there.

That information is incorrect there is no SMX Folder. All graphic for the SMX mod are in the Icon Folder

Thanks for the awesome mod Spider. Sorry for my bad english iam from germany and a Dyslexic. I play this mod on a private server with friends and we all love this difficulty.

I dont know it is from the game or the mod but i found two bugs. First: If i clickt double "E" for searching a box then break the loot timer and u can in half time looting. :ambivalence:

Second is the right click with axe. If i digging a hole and click "left + right" mouse in the same time iam 2x faster than a showel. Where can i find the right click action in the xml? I need to deactivate it for me.

And a other question: If i disconnect from the server the console spams "Objekt reference not set to an instance of an object" without a break. Can i stop this?

Can anyone recommend any mods that work well with JZMOD? I don't want to add any that would mess it up.

Also thanks for the responses to my previous question.
