Hey MM,

can we get an option for choosing weather in A17? good, mixed, bad - or good and mixed?

And would it be possible to have the option for how long it takes for sleepers to respawn (or made that equal to loot respawn)?

Hi Guys, I just wanted open up discussion of Alpha 17. Sorry we have been tight lipped about it, but I wanted to try something different this time where we talk about finished or work in progress features rather than stuff we simply planned. This leads to less frustration because usually once something is started we finish it, where its easy to plan a bunch of stuff and have it slip through the cracks, which is disappointing for all of us.
I will say we're ramping up the team, we've hired two new senior programmers, a concept artist, an environment artist, a designer, and we have about 5 new full time world builders. I'll begin showing stuff on youtube real soon. I have two keyboards hooked up at the same time now so I can annoy people if I want, or use the quiet keyboard if I want :)
You ever thought about hooking up with "microsoft" they seem to be very open to Getting Games to their Max potential...just a thought

 
Please say your putting in zip lines!!
OMG!!!..... if they can't be placed with a Bow/Crossbow.... It will be a waste of time to make work right.....

just in case you go "why?"

Scenario:

You are on a building with tons of Zombies surrounding you..you want to go from one building to another "with your Zipline"

So because you can't place it with a well placed Crossbow or bow shot...you have to run all the way to the bottom of the building "With a Tool anyways" to place it then run all the way to the top again just to use it.

Mind you in turn your running threw Zombies anyways...you might as well not place it.....and just leave......

So unless its done right..its worthless.....

and if i hurt anybody feelings putting it this way...too bad..get a life...

the Modding forums have Awesome programmers also...but you know.....

 
Good to hear from you again Madmole. for me just knowing something or hearing from the dev's is great even if the stuff is released later, but I understand your side. Am playing the hell out of 16 right now.

 
Simply a tool to quick remove block in creative and/or DM!!

Oh and more ressources to melt in the forge to craft different types of alloys like brass ;-) and much more

Have not played the game long and almost exclusively on console but do own it on PC got say great job to the team i am having a blast and its great news your strengthing your team.

I am lurking on the pc forums to see if i can get up to speed on playing on pc with the latest alpha's so i am watching this to see if the extra features will move me over to PC.

Not disclosing whats hitting the cutting room floor seems a wise move and as you say avoids disapointment all round and whats not known wont be missed.

Also the talk of ziplining off the uss enterprise and polaris missiles is spinning me out, am i in the same thread as the original post?

And what about the AI specialist programmer?

I thought you said you were hiring that kind of guy to have better bandits and zombies in the game, is that still a thing? O_o

That looks pretty lame actually... I'd prefer an hang glider all the time over that. :p

5 new full time world builders xD this should be interesting to see what they can do.

Guys, guys, stop questions like will this or that will be there. Joel said "we`ll talk about finished or work in progress features rather than stuff we simply planned" . Its different now. Features will be showed soon.
