for the first 6-8 years thats exactly what i did to, only last couple years i have even really started using the forum.

This again?  Your time means nothing.  It isn't play time.  You still have never responded to the facts given about why your consistent use of the lowest player kill achievement is basically irrelevant.  You avoid anything that shows you're wrong and just keep posting misleading or false numbers and data.

It was a couple of years ago when researching data for another one of your claims.
You talk a really good game, I GOT A GREAT IDEA...

how about next time you do testing come to a pvp server, doesnt even have to be napvp.

I bet just about anything you wouldn't last one day on a pvp server.

At least with roland i know he playd PVP for several years before turning to pve.

There is something else wrong. It says only 45 members. Its missing .000 after that. Those are the thousands of players he brings into any statement he does here. Must be a bug 🤪

 
over 8% of the 40 million accounts sold in this game has killed at least 5 other players in this game, that works out to about 3.25 million accounts

add in the players with 1-4 player kills and i imagine that number is somewhere around 10 million.




Nope doesn´t work like that. Overhaul mods with npc´s that you can kill gave you that achievement for quite some time. All of my RL friends that play 7 days have it and none of them plays PvP. That´s 10 people alone that i know in person. 

People play with PvP on, but not to actually play PvP but for more realism in PvE. Or are you going to tell me that people like neebs gaming are an active part of the PvP community?

Those 8.1% mean nothing at all. And if we look at the "Kill 25 players" achievement it´s only 3.4%. And a lot of those are still PvE players because you will kill people if friendly fire is on.

Just get over it, this game isn´t made for PvP, it doesn´t have the playerbase for it. You and your friends are the only ones that still can´t shut up about it. Even though the devs said many, many times over the years that what you want isn´t going to happen. At least not before the PvE part is finished iirc. Not sure how the plans for a seperate PvP mode after the final update are right now. Maybe @Laz Man can enlighten us?

interesting...., all the pvp servers that battlemetrics currently lists page after page of servers with pvp players i wouldnt claim to hardly know any of them, that alone tells you pvp is being playd on 7d2d

That means nothing.  Most servers like that are empty or almost empty.  People make servers all the time that are rarely ever used.  I showed you stats and you just ignore them because you don't want to be wrong.

Not to mention that a significant number of PVP players use multiple alt accounts and bots, so a large number of "players" aren't actually players.

Yeah keep ignoring the fact that you can get that achievement in other ways than actually playing PvP and that you could earn it even in SP with overhaul mods for a long time. Or the fact that only 3.4% killed over 25 other players. If there were millions of PvP players those achievements would be more in the range of 20%-30%. Not 3.4%.

It´s not going to happen that this game will focus heavily on PvP. There is tons of PvP games designed for PvP, even with zombies.

I have no clue why you try so hard to make this a thing when it should be clear by now that you could also talk to a wall and get the same result. The devs said no, several times already, the numbers clearly show the PvP isn´t nearly as big as you claim. You are either trolling or you really like a challenge.

No one here agrees with you and on steam only people on your friendslist do.

Your posts are interesting to say the very least.

You showed how fluid popularity is in the server arena.

Just having 4 people logoff your server dropped you to 17,

and the argentina chile one dropped all the way to 613.

That doesn't seem fair. Here i got a wider snapshot hope it helps.

Your point?  As I mentioned, many PVP players use multiple alt accounts, so you can't trust PVP player counts to begin with.  And besides, a large percentage of players play single player, so would obviously not be in the top 10 for player count even though there are more single players than PVP players.  Also, PVP is where you will more likely see servers that ain't follow the 1-8 player count, so they are more likely to appear at the top even though a much larger number of players play within that 1-8 range. 

So those stats really mean nothing at all.  And in reality, those stats prove your "millions" isn't even close to being real.  Only one of the to 8 servers has over 30 players.  You would need literally millions of servers to have any chance of millions of PVP players.

Just a note... If you keep tossing out inflated numbers and misleading data, no one is going to care much about what you are asking for because it just makes your entire posts look bad.  People focus on the fake data and not on what you are asking for.  Give up trying to prove that PVP is such a make things on this game.  Instead, just ask for what you want (preferably in Pimp Dreams where requests and suggestions belong) and leave it at that.  If they think it is worth doing, they will.  At this point, you likely have a lot of people just ignoring your questions and focusing on the fake data, which gets you nowhere.

Typical response from someone who doesn't have a leg to stand on. Also completely the attitude of most PvP players, which is why the community doesn't last long, and PvP players are considered toxic.  I played PvP quite a bit a long time ago. Been doing it since Meridian 59, and championed some of the largest guilds back then. I stick to games designed for PvP though for that.  Now I'm just getting old, and my reactions aren't what they used to be. 

Back to your constant inflation of player counts.  

Here is the current players on Steam.  Does not count MS Store or console players.

So that is 108 people

Now let us do the same search for PvE.  And again, we are only looking at server titles here. Not the actual setting on the servers.

Not the big win some of you expected. Only 157 players.

However, let us look a bit deeper. If we filter to just players with at least 1 person logged in, we get 7 pages plus 2 servers for PvP. That makes for 72 total PvP servers with a total of 288 players.

Now we do the same thing for the PvE servers. Battlemetrics breaks if I try to go past page 10. I get 511 total players in those 10 pages though, and there are at least a few more pages left to go.

So where are your millions? In this example public PvP servers only account for 0.75% of the current players. That isn't even a full 1%

This goes to prove another fact people like yourself choose to ignore.  Most people are not playing on dedicated servers. They are playing solo or in a private co-op game with friends.

I think that's easily explained by behavior, not popularity. I assert PvP players desire lots of other players. PvE players can be happy in small teams and solo, which happens to match the server load support offered by the Devs.

 
just for you ill give you one percent to think about...

99.999% of all pvp players will not waste their time on a PVE forum

most of them could care less what a pve player thinks about this game.


That can work both ways, but most here seem to be trying to be civil with you.

 
This topic seems to refresh every year and it was discussed previously this year already.  I had a good response at the time, but don't feel it is worthwhile to rehash it again so I will link it this time

This game was always intended to be a PvE type of game, based on what the developers themselves have stated in the past.  The fact that you can play it as a PvP game is a bonus, but it doesn't make it a requirement for the developers to make it a great PvP game (or even a good PvP game).

And people can state that 10% of players have at least 1 kill, or 8% have 5 kills at least - that doesn't change the fact the 92% never got 5 kills or 90% never got 1 kill.

How many years have people been asking for bandits? I've litterally watched thousands of players beg, plead and waste the tfp time asking for them. The reasson they do this is simple because everyone knows pve is no challenge. However. in pvp guess what? Bandits already exists by players and there is no game bandit that can compete like a real human. Also if the tfp pimps had spent 1000th of that time they been working on bandits they could have already added many pvp features. fixed many bugs and at the very least could have made alot of people happy , Instead we all are setting here with no bandits or pvp features. Yes im talking years waiting.....

3.2% have killed 25 players. A lot of them simply by playing overhaul mods with NPC´s that you can kill. A lot simply turn on friendly fire in PvE coop games for more challenge. Another part simply only for the achievment to get 100% on steam. The PvP playerbase is a very small minority. My guess is like 2%. Go and watch a Neebs 7 days to die video and then tell me they are part of the PvP playerbase.

It´s not worth any development time to cater to such a small percentage. Especially not when they are behind with adding new content that then again would need an overhaul for PvP probably as they design the game purely for PvE.

And yes i know i already said that, but that are the facts. You simply choose to ignore them, but that doesn´t change the facts.

I mean what else does it need to stop you other than the devs saying, and not only once,  that it won´t happen? But you know what´s gonna happen in their next title? There will be no PvP at all if it is a PvE focused game, so that a loud minority can´t annoy them anymore. (That´s at least what i would do if i were in charge at TFP)

All the energy you waste on discussing this again and again could have gone into modding the game to your needs.
