Suggestions for New Features and Content in 7 Days to Die

Dear Development Team,

Thank you for your incredible work on 7 Days to Die. The game is already an outstanding survival experience, but I would like to share some ideas that could further enhance atmosphere, variety, and long-term motivation:

1. Quests & Missions

  • Resource Quests: Tasks such as collecting wood, mining stones, or gathering rare materials.
  • Delivery & Treasure Hunt Quests: Players are sent between locations to retrieve or deliver items.
  • Escort & Protection Quests: Players must pick up specific NPCs and escort them to a destination, heal or protect injured NPCs.
  • Timed Missions: For example, a wounded NPC must be protected until a plane arrives to drop an airdrop that heals them.
  • Rewards: Diverse rewards like rare blueprints, resources, or cosmetic items.

2. NPC System

  • Living World: NPCs hunt, gather resources, or flee from zombies.
  • Dynamics: Some NPCs attack players, others seek cooperation.
  • Collaboration: Players can request NPC assistance, e.g., repairing their base within a specific timeframe, potentially costing in-game currency.
  • Relationships: Building friendships with NPCs unlocks rewards, support, or exclusive quests.

3. Gameplay & Survival

  • Fishing & Fish: New fishing mechanics as an additional food source.
  • Farming & Livestock: Animals such as cows, pigs, horses, and chickens.
  • Diseases: Infections, poisonings, or colds that must be treated.
  • Crafting Expansion: Smithing, pottery, brewing medicines or alcohol.
  • Events & Bosses: Special boss or elite zombies that require groups (5–10 players) to defeat.
  • Permanent Calendar Events: Holidays like Halloween, Christmas, or Easter with special items, zombies, and quests.

4. Vehicles & Weapons

  • New Vehicles: More vehicle types with creative designs.
  • Rare Spawns: Vehicles and weapons appear only rarely, maintaining special value.
    • Dealership POIs: Certain locations like old car dealerships could contain rare vehicles that spawn only occasionally, encouraging exploration.
  • Optional Shops: Cosmetic skins for vehicles and weapons.

5. Building & Creativity

  • New Building Materials: Lava, fog, and horror effects.
  • Mechanical Parts: Hinges, gears, pulleys – for movable gates, traps, or elevators.
  • Base Design: More wall colors, furniture, and decorative elements for creative bases.

6. Long-Term Motivation & Progression

  • Skill Specializations: Expanded skill trees, e.g., Carpenter, Engineer, Animal Breeder, Trapper.
  • Prestige System: After reaching max level, players can reset to unlock special bonuses and unique advantages.

7. Co-op & Multiplayer

  • Clan/Faction System: Players can form groups, use banners/emblems, and manage base permissions.
  • PvPvE Events: Contested loot drops where teams compete against each other and zombies.
  • Raids & Dungeons: Zombie bunkers or caves with bosses and valuable loot designed for groups.

8. Atmosphere & Immersion

  • Dynamic Weather: Storms, lightning strikes, dense fog, or sandstorms affecting gameplay.
  • Lightning Strikes: Can damage generators, vehicles, or players; standing under trees is dangerous. Electronic systems may require repairs after strikes.
  • Sound Effects: Random zombie screams or whispers in the wind increase horror atmosphere.

9. Enemies & Threats

  • Zombie Variants: New animations, attack patterns, and AI behavior.
  • Variety: More zombie types for unpredictable encounters.
  • Special Events:
    • Meteor Strikes: Bring new resources but also dangerous enemies.
    • Zombie Invasions: Certain cities or regions are overrun. Players see the invasion on the map and receive a screen notification that a zombie invasion is occurring.

Note:
I understand that implementing these ideas would require significant time and effort. This is intended purely as a suggestion to improve gameplay and enrich the player experience.

Thank you for your continued work on this unique game!

oh man i can't wait to play the World Of Warcraft DLC for 7 days to die! sheesh get a room with this ridiculous low effort ai nonsense, review that whats suggested is actually feasible and makes sense next time.

Two things. One, suggestions go in the forum section Pimp Dreams. Two, this is AI slop that you don’t appear to have reviewed. If you can’t be bothered to write it, no one should bother reading it. Your time is not more valuable than others.
That was rather harsh, and totally unneeded. Look at their profile, they have just one post, and you come at them like that? Shame on you.

I'm not sure I understand this whole AI thing people seem to be so intrigued with. What is the draw, is it supposed to be like using a calculator instead of doing the math in your head? Laziness, curiosity, lack of creativity?

I'm pretty open minded and like learning new things, but this "stuff" has little to no appeal to me at all.

AI isn't bad, but using it to do your work for you is. It's one thing to get information with it to assist you and something else entirely to let it do everything for you. Assisting you allows you to learn and also means you're taking time to verify anything it provides since a lot of stuff from AI isn't correct. Doing everything for you means you learn nothing and a lot of what it gives you is wrong. A lot of people have zero interest in reading AI posts for those reasons and others.

In any case, the suggestions are for an entirely different game. This isn't that kind of game. There isn't much point in commenting further on the individual items.

Basically it offers unlimited power, you just have to get the mystical prompt incantations just right. Which you won't, and you have to check everything yourself, so you have to know everything already.. it's a typing assistant. With plenty of borrowed features from genies, it'll do your bidding; it's just never what you actually wanted.

A lot of people have zero interest in reading AI posts for those reasons and others.
Yeah... I give a "well formatted" post a cursory glance, up to the first contextual mistake and skip the rest. Here, that wasn't even necessary; the suggestions aren't even suggestions, just categories of stuff... the first 'conflict' I spotted is the Delivery Quest bit ... we have that entire category already.

In recent weeks, there's been an influx of AI poster that are polluting the forum. People are getting tired of reading the same low efforts wall of text full of illogical/irrealist/wrong things.

They aren’t here to discuss, they'll just put your reply in the AI chat bot and then paste the reply back here.

I like using that Copilot, I do a lot of researching with it, man the things you can learn from it. It even gave me a list of things to do in 7 days for my WRX turbo-charged character build 🤣 but in all seriousness, it definitely is a great tool when looking up things for the game. You can even drop a screenshot of the map in it and it will point out the best optimal places to build a base.

I think AI is great….for creating songs about 7 Days to Die. Endlessly entertaining—er at least until your free trial credits run out. 😉

That really sounds like a good way to kill the fun in a game. I never understood people who want to copy what other people do instead of doing their own thing in a game.
For beginners it's a great tool for the game, I still play my way, and it's a great way to gain insight of the game from a different perspective.

Copilot is free lol. That's the only AI (I think its AI lol) that I've used. I tried researching these other ones and I was completely lost and confused. I didn't know what I was looking for and what I was needing, so I stuck with Copilot lol.
