Maybe take your own advise?

There's no diplomatic way for me to explain what I want to say here so I'm just gonna say "Sure""Your post is ragebait or you need to learn how to spot obviously AI generated art for your own sake."

A genuine "sorry" for the miniature flaming might be in order, but seems that's not realistic. There's no diplomatic way for me to explain what I want to say here so I'm just gonna say "Sure"
Poor zztong got molested for no reason
Just because there are a lot of people who believe that anything is AI content doesn't make it true. As shown here. And I pointed out that every part of that looked as expected and not at all like AI.There's no diplomatic way for me to explain what I want to say here so I'm just gonna say "Sure"
I'll just say I was hardly the only person thinking it. See also, steam comments, plus youtube comments. But I'm glad it's clarified.
Lol!It's water under the bridge, but shower me with Cookie emojis if you like. I like cookies.
I was just one of the sheep! Just one of the sheep!I'll just say I was hardly the only person thinking it. See also, steam comments, plus youtube comments.
You are basically spouting data that has no source or proof and is based more off how robots are used than how AI is used. AI can cost jobs, sure. But AI right now is very limited. It's getting better, but it's usually easy to tell when something is AI generated. We all know when GM posts AI slop. Many can tell an AI image without difficulty, though as shown here, some assume it's AI without giving it a real chance and end up being wrong. In programming, AI is rarely used to avoid paying a human. It's mostly used as a resource to improve workflow and efficiency, but not as a replacement for a person. The same number of people are still working on the project. They just use AI to assist. It isn't like a factory that uses robots to replace employees. But people want to treat it as the same thing, even when it isn't. And for those small companies or individual programmers who can't afford to pay for someone to design something for them, AI can be a huge help. That doesn't cost jobs because there's no money to pay for help. If anything it increases jobs because the company has a chance to grow (for small companies) and hire more people after the AI assistance improves business. For individual programmers, it allows someone with no money to write a game even if they aren't artists or musicians, and that is a good thing.except THAT is not how reality works...Companies that adopt AI are doing so to rid themselves of the burden of paying a human. It isn't to improve service, it isn't to reallocate resources, it's to increase profits for the few at the expense of the many.
You talk about content creators as if they are a scourge on humanity...7 DTD would have arguably died if not for Content Creators. That's not to say that modders didn't do a lot to help in that regard too.
If you didn't have calculators, you'd have .. calculators of the flesh variety. People filling in sheets of calculations. If AI actually speeds up dev work, fewer devs Will be hired; I think currently junior positions are getting rarer as AI is basically fulfilling that from the company PoV. Doesn't bode well for anyone's learning. Sure one could hope that the saved efforts are spent on product quality, but the market will optimize there too.. the standard of "minimum viable product" isn't being challenged. You use a calculator to do math because it's more efficient. It isn't to cut the number of employees you need.

look, you can have your feelings BUT please dont make assumptions based on nothing, ok? my job from 2008 to 2025 was drawing art, in particular character designs for single-person use, for indie game development(like actually indie, usually one person doing everything solo with an an audience in the double digits) and rarely the actual character sprites used in (often forum or rpgmaker) games. i have very literally lost multiple customers(some of them regulars) because they found the cost of using an ai image generator better than my going rate including one quite embarrassing one where a potential buyer was advertised an ai generating program WHILE we were negotiating a commission and canceled on me when he found he could get sort of the same thing he wanted to buy for about 8 quid instead of my bespoke and exact art for 20 and had the lack of sense and decorum to tell me he was being pitched the program then that he bought it and was checking it out then telling me he liked what he was getting and would get back to me about buying if it didnt work out(he did not get back to me). i have seen my commissions slow down and dry up and occassionally seen ai art shuffled in next to my own past work. i've seen customers(mine and others') with galleries of bespoke human art start to fill in those galleries with ai or ai-assisted images and i have heard other artists talk about this as well.-snip-
hey, your post made my tracker super angry. can you just post a regular link? i like looking at wip compilations and wanna see how the artist made this bannerThey posted a video showing the progress from multiple Artist Sketches to finished version
You just don't like this artistic style I guess
In SW, probably.. by enabling one-man studios to do much more. Somewhat related, plenty of "proper devs" are now creating their own tools for whatever they want done (think home computer networks, or "bowling alley refurbishment" as a hobby - or any other hobby tools, firmware or otherwise) .. a crapton of new SW is being created for exactly one user, themselves. Some of those will inevitably bleed to the markets.I also wonder if this might fuel a rise in entrepreneurship. That is, faced with fewer employment options more people start businesses. Then, perhaps we get more competition between companies.
Ouch.... they found the cost of using an ai image generator better than my going rate including one quite embarrassing one where a potential buyer was advertised an ai generating program WHILE we were negotiating a commission and canceled on me...
Forum software changes the link it looks like.hey, your post made my tracker super angry. can you just post a regular link? i like looking at wip compilations and wanna see how the artist made this banner
These are two sides of the same coin - no-one is "saving money" to then have it sit in the bank account forever more. All money saved, is money re-allocated. It might be investments, it might be profits, but it's going somewhere; just somewhere else.no, it is NOT to reallocate funds elsewhere. it is to spend less money whenever possible
So all that complaining for nothing then.Well then good. I'm glad it's not.
As a studio, we maintain a strict policy against the use of generative AI in our artistic production process, and we can confirm that no AI-generated content was used in the creation of this piece. We have confirmed this with our artist as well.
Or better yet, we're already far enough in the loop that actual fresh artists may have been using AI as a training tool for their art, for years. Now, unlike SW, this is going to be less pursued for arts, but I'd bet a significant round body part that quite a number of people are learning from AI slop by now ... human, AI gen, or human replicating AI gen...?There’s an irony if people jump to the conclusion that anything they find weird or irregular must be AI. They may be identifying the very quirks that make an individual artist human and unique.
