I wonder how far you have gotten? A17 gets REALLY crap around level 100, and/or on the second play-through.hell yeah , this ALPHA is NOT COMPLETE but i enjoy way further than any of before
Actually, that kind of solutions punishes you for specializing. In another post Stompy said he removed the level gates but increased the point cost of the perks. The way I understood it the higher the perk the more expensive. This is still somewhat artificial but the player has more agency. For example if a player wanted to spend 5, 10, or whatever points to unlock forges they could. Obviously they would be sacrificing spending points in other areas to get that perk.
Dont worry @ricp! The first post is already forgotten and buried. Everyone has already started their own fights. It's just a classic bar fight by now.How did an obviously trolling post somehow garner 7 pages over a day? Don't you all realise this 'barthy' character is, what we in Scotland call, "at it".
Hook line and sinker the lot of you, you really should spot the obvious bait and avoid it.
Anyone coming into a forum they have never posted on before, and dismissing a game completely out of hand, should be treated with the level of disdain they deserve.
The rest of you, stop feeding the trolls.
IIRC, Kinyajuu was responding to the biome diversity and poi spawns (rwgmixer) being a mess. I don't believe there was discussion on allowing for map sizes in excess of what the new limit is, 16k. Certainly wasn't any discussion on electing a difference for world map generation. From Kinyajuu two weeks ago....
It's basically been known that this is a broken feature since a17e released.
Just because a "troll" started a post doesn't mean that the community can't have a discussion in it lmao. You seem really stuck on the "it's no fun after level 100" point of view....I wonder how far you have gotten? A17 gets REALLY crap around level 100, and/or on the second play-through.
For me the game realy gets startet at around lvl 100. I like building big bases and fancy stuff while i play on insane and always run to keep up a little challange. You seem really stuck on the "it's no fun after level 100" point of view....
I can fix this for you if you let me mod your game.
I recommend more level gates, 1/2 exp gain and maybe .5 skill points for every level. Then it won't suck til level 200

(It's a joke, don't take me too seriously)
I have not heard many disputes about difficulty and dungeon crawling in general. The major issue that I keep seeing is the level gating of every single thing in game and the fact that 7DTDs lackluster zombie killing has been put up as the only viable way to gain said levels.I had stopped playing alpha 16 but alpha 17 has sparked my interest again because it actually makes the game difficult. 16 on the hardest settings was still baby mode, now I am actually worried about going into buildings and taking my time. I hated that I could basically have all I needed to survive after about 3 days, now it actually takes some work and that is brilliant!
Heh. I won't. Sadly your fix is probably what TFP will do because it seems they have already fallen in love with their new mechanics (especially the perks) and are not going to change it.You seem really stuck on the "it's no fun after level 100" point of view....

That's why the system should be modable. If 1 person enjoys only killing Zs to progress, great. If another doesn't like that he should be able to mod it (through XML). The Alpha 16 skill system almost had that. TFP just needed to put PlayerLevel as requirement to perks (perks were the skills that you leveled up by putting points in them and required some PlayerSkill to be at certain level (1-100)). If someone didn't like everything being a perk with PlayerLevel requirement they could mod that. And that's what's the problem with discussions on this forum. When you compare apples with oranges.
Person X says he doesn't enjoy the game because he feels like he needs to kill zombies to advance in crafting. But rather craft to advance in crafting.
Person Y response that the game is great because killing zombies advance him in crafting. Because he enjoys killing zombies more than crafting.
TFP manage to make A17 great for combat based playstyle. Finally! But in the process they nerfed Defensive playstyle.
Imo defensive/stealth is survival and should be rewarded.
iam sure i got my jeep now , so nothing is not fun , grindy maybe but still incomplete alpha , i mean . the game is always good every new alpha and becomes crap after 20 lvls . thats why we jump to mods and play around a lil, we got to say ALPHA17 will die as soon as the last batch goes out, if anyone is not liken it they have to pretend they never saw any thing of the game and wait the title " 7 DAYS TO DIE FULL RELEASE " then start talking about stuff , i know and understand we paid to watch and play the game while its still alpha, and those guys really made a good jop . I THINKI wonder how far you have gotten? A17 gets REALLY crap around level 100, and/or on the second play-through.

PS: you kept the post going too lmao
That's the thing I haven't been able to figure out. They could of had this same progression system just by adding in the new buff system. Why they re did the way the progression code works removing loved core game mechanics is beyond me. I could have coded up the current progression.xml in a couple hours with 16.4 xml and have it work same as 17 minus the new buff effects. Its like they did it this way to purposely deter any modder from trying to revert it back to the 16.4 progression system.Instead TFP spend time rewriting the whole skill system to achieve something that was achievable simply by adding PlayerLevel as perk requirement and in the process removed the ability for people to mod it back.
I think that was the Reason why they did it like that. Same with the Weapon Parts and Gun Assembly, impossible to mod it back cause the game will not accept it anymore. That's the thing I haven't been able to figure out. Yes..... I see what you did there.O love the censorship in this post.
Maybe Moby Richard is more politically correct
