The server uses customized sandbox settings (loot progression, trader progression, quest progression, biome progression, etc.).
During troubleshooting, all relevant settings related to trader progression and quests were reviewed. No configuration setting appeared to be directly related to the issue during troubleshooting.
Several sandbox settings were adjusted during the ongoing playthrough as part of balancing the server. However, no immediate issues occurred after these changes, and the affected players continued to receive trader quests normally until the described incident occurred.
Description
---------------
After dying during an active Clear Area trader quest, the quest immediately fails.
From that moment on, the affected player permanently loses the "Quests" tab at every trader.
The trader can still:
Buy and sell items.
Give rewards for already active or developer-started quests.
Additional Observation
The affected player is still able to participate in trader quests started by another player while being in the same party.
The quest can be completed normally, and rewards are granted as expected.
The issue only affects the ability to receive and start new trader quests independently, as the Trader Quest tab remains permanently missing.
Troubleshooting Performed
The following troubleshooting steps have already been performed without resolving the issue:
- Reviewed available server log files (no relevant errors related to trader quests were
found).
- Verified the affected player's .ttp save file.
- Verified players.xml.
- Verified quests.xml and trader quest definitions.
- Removed all stored quest position entries from players.xml.
- Restarted the dedicated server multiple times.
- Tested multiple traders, including traders that had never been visited before.
- Tested developer quest tickets (including T2).
- Completed trader progression quests using developer/admin commands.
- Verified that trader rewards can still be claimed.
- Verified that the player's quest history remains intact.
- Confirmed that only the Trader Quest tab is permanently missing.
None of these actions restored the missing Trader Quest tab.
Additional Information
One affected player experienced the issue immediately after dying during an active Clear Area trader quest, causing the quest to fail. From that point onward, the Trader Quest tab disappeared permanently for that player.
A second player on the same server has reported the same symptom (missing Trader Quest tab). At the time of writing, I am still gathering additional information to determine whether the same sequence of events led to the second occurrence.
Extensive analysis of the affected player's data and the server configuration has already been performed. This included reviewing the player's save (.ttp), players.xml, quest definitions, quest position data, trader progression, developer/admin commands, and the available server logs.
Despite these investigations, no corruption or configuration issue was identified that could explain the permanently missing Trader Quest tab.
The issue persisted after multiple server restarts and after all troubleshooting steps listed above.
I can provide the affected player's save files (.ttp), players.xml, server logs, and additional information if required.

- Steps to Reproduce:
1. Accept a Clear Area quest from a trader.
2. Start the quest.
3. Die during the active quest.
4. The quest immediately fails.
5. Visit any trader.
Expected Result
The trader should continue offering quests.
Actual Result
The Quest tab disappears permanently for that player on every trader.
