A colleague of mine who works on our employers AI efforts, said to me once, that the biggest challenge they had (back in the day) in teaching machines to understand natural language was because our languages were so imprecise.How about using context? Or just use a synonym that applies to one but not the other?
If you call it an attachment, even if it's called a mod in game, people will understand what you're talking about.
If you call it a mod as it is in game, and it is established that the discussion is about weapon attachments, people should understand what is being discussed.
Conversely, I believe making up esoteric terms only known by a select in group just makes things more confusing instead of concise. Remember people are going to have to learn these terms, and those a part of the out group will not know them.
