I love hardcore simulation and micromanagement, but I agree that most of that stuff is better suited for mods.Imagine having to wait 28+ days for crops to grow, check their water levels, water them, fight off insect pests...build a functional greenhouse...which we actually could do/should do in the game...
The ONE thing you mentioned that should be in vanilla, imo, is *some* kind of water management for plants. Maybe not to the extent that some other games have, but even having to water farm blocks just *once* with each seed would be something, at least.
TFP wants water to be important to survival, but going to absurd lengths to control how we gather it hasn't worked out well at all. It's still easy to get even with dew collectors. So rather than saying we can't dip a bucket in a river to get water, the devs should have given us more reasons to need water in the first place.
And no, none of that has anything to do with jars.
