PC How does TFP want us to get into our own bases?

I know I would like to be able to make a realistic type base with doors, gates, etc. It's a tough balancing act for sure but I hope that TFP will be able to find a solution.
Same. But that kinda means keeping zombies largely away from the base all together right?

Makes me wonder if, for game play purposes, there should be a zombie radar that can be built on a base.

Maybe early game, tin cans that automatically wire together as you place them around the perimeter of your base. Drawings zombies to the cans for a few seconds so you can have a chance to react.

Think multiple screamers may make such a thing hard...

Later, with electricity, motion sensor type large area detection devices might be cool. And maybe siren towers/poles that can draw zombies to them to again, give you time to get to the area and react. Could be cool if these sirens would allow a player to kinda summon zombies or try to. With an area affect that zombies in the chunk have a reduced chance to spawn things like wandering horders and screamers. Effect Last for like 24 hours.

Which is all the stuff and reason behind why I'm curious about TFP's direction.

Sure I MIGHT go concrete base at some point. But if making area defense is the actual direction of the game as opposed to bases that are unreachable by zombies, then some extra game play elements seem to be needed for sure.

Silly TSBX. That guy is not a problem solver let me tell you.

I can be a millionaire. All I need is millions. Can i get millions? Sure that banks got a bunch of it, but most people.....wont rob the bank to achieve their goals.

See where I'm going here?

Nice! TFP War Room!

We use hatches and underground tunnels. Works fine. Zombies pay the hatches no attention at all.
Yup, as above, we have a separate fortified base for horde night, and a regular cube base for crafting/storage etc. The cube is surrounded by spikes, and the horde base has other defences. Both are accessed via an external hatch and concrete reinforced tunnel with vault doors, just in case. We have had zero issues.

Tactics I learned before I switched to PC that might still work include:

gap of +1x,+1z

reinforcing every third column under a POI 2nd story

underground base beyond spawning range

spikes with lots of support poles under an elevated cage

the lake house on stilts in Navelgaze

Fleeing on a vehicle is also effective, but on Console you still have to worry about random caves. You can be cruising along, safe af, and fall into a random hole in the ground to get swarmed by zombies. Not a great thing.

Elevated base. Thick rigid fundament, 4 blocks high. Bars surrounding on the living floor, built like a cage. Walkway away from base, 8 blocks high. Again, bars. Small, high tower with door. Also, solid fundament, top built like a cage. Drawbridge to enter the tower that leads to base. Traps bloody everywhere. Drawbridges everywhere.

Just make a drawbridge. Pretty simple after 3-4 weeks of game time.

Before that just use frames. Whoever doesn’t walk around with frames for geek poling is ... ON YOU
