Game update ideas

I would like to first introduce myself. I am James and have been a fan of the 7 days franchise for some time now and am excited to see the road map presented and eagerly await updates to the games.

I  hope you find time in your schedule to read through some concepts and ideas I have for the game's future content coming to 7 days to die.

First,
I believe it is a great idea to add more enemies that challenge the player which some of the community see as " boss enemies ". These being the dire-wolf, the zombie bear and "grace" the radioactive pig. A suggestion that could be made is have some of these creatures be enemies be unique to their respective biome for example.

  • "Grace" be a forest biome "boss"
  • The dire-wolf be for the burnt forest biome
  • A radioactive large vulture (similar size to Minibike or motorcycle ) for Desert
  • A zombie Moose for snow biome
  • Zombie bear for wasteland biome

Although these 5 creatures would have their own retrospective biomes, they would be allowed to leave their areas for horde nights.

Suggestion 2: Gun part crafting

Similar to how the game functioned in the past port for 7 Days to die a gun part system would make the game feel more comparative to a playthrough than it is currently with each gun having from 3–6 gun parts dependent on the advancements of the weapon.
An example of this would be

  • gun quality . Tiers 1-6, determines weapon set damage dependent on tier
  • Weapon receiver. Tier 1-6 determines weapons max fire rate dependent on tier
  • Weapon magazine. Tier 1-6 determines how much ammo capacity the weapon can hold in a single magazine at one time
  • Weapon stock. Tier 1-6 determines recoil of a weapon respective to its tier
  • Weapon frame. Tier 1-6 determines weapons degrade rate respective to its tier
  • Weapon barrel. Tier 1-6 determines weapon damage drop off after set range

Suggestion 3: unique weapons

With the new bandit update set on the roadmap I believe new "unique weapons" would be beneficial to the game. For example, a juggernaut bandit which equips a minigun and once defeated either drops ammo, parts of the Unique weapon or the weapon itself.

Minigun: although the minigun cannot be equipped and used like a normal weapon. It can be place onto blocks and mounted to help "shred through them pesky hordes"

Saw blade launcher: a heavy-duty weapon similar to high tier quality as the Rocket launcher. This weapon is able to propel blades at high speeds into zombies with high chance of dismemberment ( this weapon could have a drop chance from a “unique zombie “ in tier 4 construction buildings)

Flamethrower: a powerful short-medium range weapon that expels hot burst of flames onto its unlucky victim. ( can be acquired from a chest or zombie drop in a unique tier 4 POI “ the bunker “ ) . Weapon inflicts burn affect and uses gasoline as a fuel source.

Elephant gun: a double barrel shotgun that packs a very mean punch. Uses unique .577 nitro express rounds that can leave a fist sized hole in any zombie. ( weapon can be acquired via tier 5 difficulty hunting cabin POI ) with many lumber jack and zombie bear spawns.

I have many other ideas that I have spoken to the player base and they love the sounds of and would enjoy seeing  and using that in game. If you would like to hear many more of my ideas or go into more detail about them. Reply to this thread and I will go into greater detail and share more ideas

If you want people to read it I'd suggest posting it in a font colour other than grey on a grey background.
Think you also have to add rainbow unicorn smileys to the title and if it is realy important he should change his name to Mesiah or Prophet.
I mean, with this as a title you expect just another post from that Hogwart teach, not?

Strongly suggest you check your system settings and only use copy/paste for plain text. Your post is unreadable due to it's text and background color.
Also: Adding every tag in the world and overusing caps do not make your words more important, it only makes you look foolish.

On topic: I've seen some of these sugestions already functioning in mods.
I rather see they focus on existing issues (short drawing and inconsistent) distance over adding more grind to weapon systems. Your sugestions give me a strong Fallout vibe.

Thread moved to Pimp Dreams. All caps title rewritten. Text color in top post made readable. OP, please post in the right section, and observe our rule C4 against hard-to-read writing styles.

Just some thoughts, as these are pretty normal suggestions and many have been discussed often before, including by devs.

They are adjusting things for biomes to address biome difficulty in Storm's Brewing.  You may see some adjustment to enemies or animals in that update and in future updates.  However, from what devs have said, I wouldn't expect any new animal enemies.  At least not until after gold.  They have also been steering away from boss zombies, though they haven't specifically commented on the possibility of adding some at a later time (that I have seen).

They moved away from gun parts long ago and it is extremely unlikely they would being them back now.

They have said they are interested in the idea of unique weapons, but they haven't given any indication that we would see anything like that before gold.  They have their hands full just trying to finish the roadmap for gold and are already running behind.  Not much that isn't on the roadmap is likely to get added until after gold, if at all.

Ermm sorry but what is gold ?
Gold usually refers to a finished game or software application that is no longer in active development.  The roadmap for this game is that it will be finished in a couple of years (give or take).  Until then, they will continue to add or change things in the game and there will be a variety of bugs that aren't yet fixed.  Of course, even after gold, there may still be bugs... that's the nature of software.  After a game is gold (finished), that is generally when they consider creating additional DLC and they may also put out patches to fix things or provide Quality of Life (QoL) updates, depending on what the devs feel like doing.  DLC can also be released before gold, of course.

Because they are trying to get the game finished so they can move on to their next game, they are focused on completing the roadmap that they provided.  They are already about 3-6 months behind their original plans (Storm's Brewing was set for Q4 2024 and is now set for the end of Q1 2025, which means 3-6 months, depending if the original plan was early Q4 2024 or late Q4 2024).  Because of that, they are unlikely to add many additional things that aren't already on the roadmap so they aren't falling further behind.  They may add them after gold as a DLC or even just as a free patch if they think they are worth adding.  Of course, if something is a minor change or addition and they think it's good, they may add it before gold.  Or, if they think it is a really good suggestion, they may choose to add it before gold even if it would delay gold, though I think it would have to be something they really like for them to make that choice.

Now, just to be clear, this doesn't mean giving suggestions isn't worthwhile.  Just understand that even if they like the suggestions, you aren't likely to see them implemented until after gold (in a couple of years), and maybe not at all as they will most likely move the majority of their staff to working on their next game and only leave a limited number handling bugs and any DLC they want to add to this game.  It still is worth giving suggestions, though.  But I wouldn't put any hope in them adding something back that they removed a long time ago, like gun parts.  If they were going to consider adding it back, they'd have done it long ago.
