Update to 1.1: Workstation Removal, New Blocks, Fixes!
Greetings! I have done some updates to 1.1 which has given some nice new additions for you guys, more stuff coming as we go...
Workstation Removal Kits and a new Quest!
A new quest has been added to the game called "The Trader's List". You can find it by buying it from a trader for 500 casino coins (at barter 0).
By completing the quest chain you will get a schematic that will unlock the Workstation Removal Kit recipe. Completing this quest is the only way to get this schematic, so don't try finding it in book stores as you'll be disappointed.
Once you craft a workstation removal kit, target the (fully working) workstation you'd like to pick up and hold a wrench in your hand. Then, right click to start boxing up your workstation. Once it's boxed up, you can simply pick it up, and take it with you! This means that any workstation in the world that works can be picked up (apart from those at a trader). You can also upgrade a non-working station into a working one before picking it up too.
Workstation Upgrade Kit Quests!
The workstation kits can usually only be unlocked by getting the appropriate perk. However, if you would like to get access to an upgrade kit early, you can now find quests in the world to enable you to get one upgrade kit. These quests can only be done once.
-
Sink It! - This quest will award you a sink upgrade kit and a couple of other nice items. Has a very small chance of being found in any cupboard or sink, or buy from the trader for 500 coins.
-
The Bench Brothers - This quest will award you a workbench upgrade kit and a couple of other nice items. Has a 50% chance of being found on any destroyed workbench, or buy from the trader for 500 coins.
-
Bun in the Oven - This quest will award you an oven upgrade kit and a couple of other nice items. Has a very small chance of being found in any oven, or buy from the trader for 500 coins.
Adobe Blocks!
Adobe blocks are BACK! But, they are a little bit different than in A15. Adobe is not as strong a material as it used to be and is less durable than flagstone. For comparison, Adobe has 600HP and flagstone has 1000HP in FennecMod). However, you will be able to build adobe blocks right away and the recipe is not gated behind any workstations, so if you do want to make your own base, you now can. It upgrades to cobblestone with 8 cobblestone rocks.
However there is also another caveat - adobe only comes in 5 basic shapes: Block, Pillar 100, Ramp, Full Corner, Inner Corner. The idea is that it's meant to be an early game building block and you'll want to move to flagstone and cobblestone sooner rather than later. You won't be able to make a toothie out of this stuff.
Emptying Jars!
Now it is possible to empty any jar of liquid or contents! This is so that if you find a jar of murky water or drink that you decide you no longer want, you can go ahead and empty the jar.
To do so, simply find a sink, toilet, or water source block, and LEFT click the jar whilst looking directly at the block. This should pour the contents of the jars out and you will be left with empty jars. Cans of water and cartons of milk can also be emptied out this way too, though I'm not sure why you'd want to do that - the option is still there.
If you need a source of murky water but only have pure water (say you need to use it on a chem station) you can now mix jars of water with dirt or sand to make them back into murky water. Or, just empty them out and then refill at a water source - your call!
Mechanic's Precision Wrench!
The mechanic class now has a very cool endgame item: a Precision Wrench! This wrench is awesome because it will allow you to take any car in the game and get a lot more parts out of it. By holding the wrench and right-clicking on the car, you can disassemble it fully and box it up. After a while you will be able to loot the box and you should get yourself a nice set of car parts to use!
Fully intact cars will give you a guaranteed drop of an engine, battery, 2 sets of minibike wheels, radiators, air filters, hubcaps, springs, mechanical parts, electrical parts, electronic components, scrap iron, copper, plastics, leather, cloth, and short iron pipes, and up to 1000 gas.
Partially intact cars will give you either an engine or a battery, and some of the stuff mentioned above, with up to 700 gas.
Car husks will give you a smaller amount of parts, no engine or battery, but up to 400 gas.
To get the precision wrench you will need to unlock the skill by having mechanic mastery 2, and reading the schematic. The schematic however is extremely rare, and cannot be found at traders. Good luck!
The update is available on the launcher. Enjoy
