PC F1 console disabled on xbox series X? PC can have it though?

Greetings,

I play a single game by my self and noticed the "Global" tab is greyed out... F1 has been removed for reference key... i bought this game and enjoyed it with the option of having all the options that i have been used to for decades. to be able to tweak or delete / add things when needed and escape a death scenario.

Now F1 doesn't work and can't activate God Mode.... and if friend joins me, i don't want them to have creative mode access by having to restart game and turning it on having to start game from scratch..

7 Days to Die has been a great game but they killed the game by restricting people from controlling their own game session.

Who cares what Sony wants, or Xbox wants... 7Days to die is infamously known for the game console.... having a USB keyboard plugged into by xbox which xbox is allowed & 7 days to die disabling F1 seems counterproductive.

If one plays a game & rightfully pays for it for it's features at the time, one should be able to keep such features.. adding more is certainly ok but having the base- amount of features should be permitted.

It wasn't a decision we made, unfortunately it was a requirement from both Sony and MS to prevent that from being available, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to release the game on their consoles.

What about some of the sub-features? I can't imagine Sony or MS having any reservations against Creative Mode being available for console players.

Ahh, so creative mode (aka creative menue) is already available to them!? I put this question to a few console players but they never bothered to answer me.

Yeah it is, but to adhere the rules, you can only toggle it on before starting a new game and you can't change it after starting.

Sony shouldn't even be a consideration, as an xbox player, sony is always been some locked down company that s8cks the fun out of everything..

They resist many cross play while microsoft is more Pro for it. Sony condition terms forcing microsoft / xbox from implimenting things.

if Sony wants to put up a wall, i feel sony should be left out.. there are  many games Sony has that xbox can't have, so sony is very familiar leaving others out of their world.

but in a single player game, all functions should be a available; especially ive i buy the game under 1 pretense and they it takes it away later..

Single player has nothing to do with crossplay.
Debug console is 1 of the core fun aspects of the game... as Admin and/or host, i should have no restrictions over my own game.

Unfortunately, that is one of the negatives to using console.  Consoles usually have more limitations and restrictions than PC.  Not much anyone can do about it except stop buying new consoles until they stop putting in all those restrictions and limitations.  But you won't ever get enough people to protest that way, so it won't do any good.

What might cause such a change is the cost of consoles continuing to increase.  The next gen consoles are likely to cost more than a decent computer, making a switch to PC more of an option for players.  When enough decide PC offers more and the cost is similar, maybe Sony and Microsoft will decide to ease up in order to try and keep customers.  We will see.

Creative on consoles is a fraction of what is on PC... We can't fly, no block destruct gun, no manual spawning zombies, all we can do is get stuff created without crafting it...

Makes it hard to build a giant base without flying, or test it without going around town kiting zombies to it...

Can somebody explain to me how this isn't a big pile of BS from Sony and MS?

What's the harm?

Could it break the consoles? Is it a security risk?

The only reason I can think of is that you could potentially see the file locations of some data on the PS5/XB-SX by looking at what is published in the console from log data.

Only Sony or MS could really give the reasoning behind their choice.

PC will eventurally fade away and consoles with their set prices will dominate... as a former PC player and building of gaming systems, it is way to costly updating $200+ video cards, motherboards, processor, etc ... their should be a push for console encouragement & not restricting features..

Minecraft allows folk to have full admin or God ability - to fly, not get killed, etc... so Microsoft is not opposed to  a player in their own game to have God mode.

So this is a judgment call only by FunPimps which ruins their core access features many enjoyed. Unless FunPimps trying to please evil Sony ..lol
I like the fact games have to conform to xbox hardware settings VS games doing whatever and forcing players to buy upgrades if they wish to play that game..

PC Gaming industry is an exploit of people's money.. NVidia loves PC Gamers.. very profitable for them.
the only benefit for PC vs Xbox is that a control vs mouse/keyboard for quicker target acquisition.. but if all on console, everyone is equal

I like your rose-colored classes, did you buy them in a microsoft store? 😁

I don't know what the game platform market will look like in 10 years, neither do you. What I am sure of is that if console and PC stay largely like they are now and no new device usurps both then both will have a share of the market in 10 years. It is very very unlikely that I will ever buy a console, not because of any PC funboyism but because I play a lot of games that need or are better played with a keyboard and mouse and I also need a PC or laptop anyway for the rest of my hobbies and work.

I find it funny that you think people play PC only because they can target faster in shooters. There is a world besides shooters and PvP where it doesn't matter if someone else is faster or slower than you.

I agree that godmode seems unlikely to be the problem, but some of the other features of the F1 console could be, for Sony AND Microsoft.

You said "I agree that godmode seems unlikely to be the problem, but some of the other features of the F1 console could be, for Sony AND Microsoft."

Since the god mode only allowes ingame actions to occur doesn't touch the external part of the PC or xbox - it wouldn't be a security issues.

this has something to do with sony making consessions with microsoft funpimps to say to MS and FP's "if you want to release a product to our (sony) PlayStation and make more money, then you have to lock down F1 feature, otherwise we walk"  ...
Since 7DTD has already been advertised and release to Sony, this sudden lock down when it was once allowed before - has put FP's and MS with their pants down... now what do they do? ... well, they could tell PS5 company to go screw and possibly loose millions / billions of customers, or give in and lock down the F1 feature....

I think it's a blackmail thing.

I think your tin foil hat is on too tight

It's 2024 and they still claim Conspiracy...lol

I been hearing that claim every since PS1.  Still waiting for PCs to "fade" away from gaming.

My son started out with console gaming (switch, Xbox).  Guess where he plays most of his games now - on the custom computer setup we built together.

Must be nice to have money to keep upgrading systems whenever a game ya like comes out that goes beyond your PC hardware limitations... or running it on downgraded graphics...  remembering those good 'ol days.. 😁

Splinter Cell saga was one of the games of a many that was a deal breakers for me with the cost of upgrades... better shadowing texture, better stability, different effects, etc ..i bought 1 and was great. then next one came out and they improved apon it in the next story game.. then another came out... i must of dumped thousands either in upgraded parts or flat-out buying a new gaming system in the realm of $1,300 to $2000 ...
Or pay for the best console of $500 and have it till it fails on it's own or they come out with another one in a couple or few years or even a decade.

Each to their own i guess.  😇

well, anyways - F1 offer no harm except to give owners more control over their game and actually Host and be an awesome admin.. now they're like every other player - "powerless" on their own purchased game from when they once had such power.  😭😭😭😭
