Do you wear an armor set or do you mix and match?

Perhaps, thought I don't see any value to gold unless there's a civilization that either wants it for pretty things or manufacturing. I mean, you can't eat it, drink it, or hunt with it so in terms of raw survival, it only weighs you down.

It's a tough thing to try and make all of the game's world make sense.

Values change with lifestyle. And as for traditions, they are different everywhere. History knows of tribes that used shells as money and had no interest in gold. Before Europeans arrived in the Kimberley region, diamonds were considered trash by the local population. There are many other examples.
Both fair points. I guess my assumption comes from the idea that people (in general) hold onto traditional ideas over a period of time. It can take decades for a culture to shift their ideals, which would likely include what people find value in.

The problem within 7DTD, is that gold and silver have 0 use outside of selling to the trader (and diamonds have exactly 1 use that isn't even that great). If they got rid of their value at the trader, they become completely useless and TFP might as well take them out of the game.

I wear whatever medium and light armor I find starting out but as soon as I can I build a set of assassins armor. Then I make it look more like a ranger set. Ninja cowboy.
I usually just wear what I find, until I can make tier 6 gear, used to I would make gear as soon as I was able too. But then I realized how much materials I was wasting, because as soon as I made like a tier 3 assassin set, I'd find a couple armor ups and then could make a 4 or 5 set.

Maybe if they add werewolves in 3.0, they'll give us silver bullets to craft? :P

As for the gold... maybe we could shave it atop our food?

In version 2.0, another way to get them was added. So I don't think they will be removed from the game.

Oh I completely agree. I don't think it will ever get removed. I was just saying if they had 0 value at the trader, then they should be removed. But you're right, I don't see that happening.

Mix early game, but once I find the pieces for the set I am going with or can craft them, I then switch to the full set. I don't play trying to find the best pieces stat wise (I know I am weird), but just going for the vibe I want from the armor set.

I wonder if the blessed metals mod was intended to use them as crafting materials before it was cut from the game

I just looked at the set bonus for Rogue armour and my gosh is it bad. Find more dukes and cash in loot...

I know this is the wrong place, but feedback time? Maybe it could be adjusted to find cash/dukes in various containers (ex. garbage), or reworked so you could find silver/gold in zombie loot bags, etc.? Because the current implementation is about as useful as if it told you could you now find more feathers in cars. :P

I doubt to a point it's noticeable though, let alone helpful.

30% more dukes, at max tier.

buffs.xml (1694):
<passive_effect name="LootQuantity" operation="perc_add" value=".3" tags="dukes"/>

The "dukes" -tag is given to dukes and old cash, so I guess it should work for ATMs; other sources are usually so low yield that 30% is still going to be peanuts (cash registers etc).

Can't say I'd wear lockpicking gloves over damage for That. Or waste 2-4 legendary parts (I could see someone making the hat for the loot bonus, but the rest of the set..?) Tier 5 is 25%, if you must.
