M16 is the full auto military version of the AR-15 . AR-15 is only semi auto and is the civilian version.... so the same rifle. now they need to kick the sniper rifle up to something real like a McMillan Tac-50 rifle http://www.smh.com.au/world/canadian-sniper-shatters-world-record-for-the-longest-confirmed-kill-in-history-20170622-gwwtaz.html
The question should be what is the most common type of weapon to find in a house in Nevada. The most common weapon is unlikely to be the best, just the best you can buy with a reasonable amount of cash.

"They're looking for a guy with a beard, AK-47 and a camo coat. That describes most of the men in Alabama."

Speaking of guns...
is 7DTD based in America? if so why don't we have M16s and AR-15s?
Why would you want a weaker gun than we have? Currently the Sniper Rifle is basically an AR-10 - semi auto in .308(7.62mm) caliber. M16 is 5.56 mm which is smaller and the AR-15 is .223 caliber (same bullet size as 5.56 but less powder.) A .223 round will fire in an M-16 and but not the reverse due to higher pressure.)

Lmao why not have zs that just teleport thru your walls and are unkillable. Zombies are dumb not futuristic smart aliens
Thank you for not reading my post.

A bird needs no intelligence to fly and for example a zombie needs no intelligence to walk through walls if he can do that naturally. I specifically said such zombies could have corresponding disadvantages.

For example a ghost-walk-through-walls-zombie would quite naturally be emphemeral and make damage like a soft cushion. He might be a little harder to hit (because ephemeral) but practically toast if you do hit it because of low hit points. And shooting it with a shot gun is a sure kill because thats a lot of small bullets, all of which have a chance to hit it. Also a ghost would not be running. Ghosts float through the air, without a rocket booster they just are not very fast.

How do you get from above to "are unkillable"? Use your imagination, there isn't just one possible ghost zombie, there is an universe full of possible ghost zombies.

Used sparingly such a zombie could spice up any blood moon without being any real danger, such a zombie could easily be balanced to just be a distraction even for low-level players or an interesting or even hard task for high-level characters (also a possible boss zombie for a group quest, by the way)

I like a great looking game, but, like you I prefer a great playing game. Not our call what will happen but we can call out what we all prefer. :)
***On a side note, I am glad we all voted for AIRSHIPS! My secret vote was sent to 99.99% of everyone that has ever played 7D2D (in my estimation), only a few people didn't get their mailer, some technical problems at Al's Marina.
There's only one airship.

;)

So Madmole mentioned "cool group quests".
Any thoughts on how people would like to see something like that implemented?
Not sure. I just hope it is something you can do together and both get credit for without each people having to do each single step like they were playing SP. for that to work I think you will have to be able to some how join your friends group. Also hope that it isn’t to were it takes more than 2 people to complete it.

Gun laws (or the lack of any) in Arizona are some of the wildest in the country. So, I have no doubt that you could find ANY kind of weapon (including some types of rocket launchers) there.

Now this might be a better idea. A bullet sponge. At the very least, you would know it is a sponge, or tank, however you see it. I am not a huge fan of the regen health but you know what you are up against. Make the boss have some crazy armor and you would also know that you need help. Or have his health in stages, i.e., he will lose he arm armor once he is getting hurt, then he will lose his chest armor, then he loses his head armor, etc. Or loses limbs.
Oh what if they did have armor that you could tell you were getting through when it broke off. Could be like dismemberment but instead you shot off the bucket on their head (or whatever the armor piece is). You could hear the shots sound like hitting metal till you knock off the armor.

Metal armor would look a bit odd with regenerating zombies. Their regeneration would mean helmets etc. plopping up out of thin air when their health gets up. Natural armor like bones etc. might work though.

Madmole a few things i think you defiantly add to Alpha 17 if team can..

- Alternative to Mining Helmets - I feel the Mining Helmet limits the players customisation and causes to much micromanagement issues, i understand flashlights can be added to guns but its rarely ever used due to to how low light it is compared to the helmet, i think adding flashlights or flashlight pockets attatchements for clothing would be amazing. Also the ability to attatch flashlights to other helmets would be cool as well.

- Give each Crafting Stations a Level System - I feel adding a level system for forge, camp fire etc. would help balance out and make it more fun to progress through the game, in order to level up the objects is how much is crafted.

- Give Weapons a Level/Progression System - I think the perks should stay and add a progression system/skill tree for each weapon type; pistol, shotgun, sniper, assault rifle, smg, rocket launcher, blunt, blade, fist, magnum etc. the weapon progressions system applies to all weapons and are permanent bonuses too.

Not a bad idea with a bit of modification.

The base zombie mesh has several pre-generated wounds. These are covered by small meshes to hide them, preferably so they look undamaged. As damage is applied a certain number of the "patches" fall off to reveal the damage below. As it regenerates the patches are re-applied to show the flesh healing.

That's a lot of work but not ridiculously complicated.

Be glad it isn't set in Britain. You'd be trying to knock something out with a well-aimed pint glass and then beat it to death with a spiked umbrella.
We should be able to craft Tankard (spelling) for beer as well as glass jars and beakers ;)

I am well aware of guns and ballistics, I have a sizable collection including everything from Gold Cups, 458 Winchester Magnum, AR-15, etc.

yes I know a .308 beats the .223 and I know the issues, my AR-15 can fire both but my savage 223 can only fire 223.

my question is more about, why not an AR-15? you will find more AR-15 and M16s in the USA compared to AK. you can keep the sniper but replace the AK. so we would have 9mm, 44Mag, 556 for the new AR-15/M16, and the sniper.

Sorry for my ignorance but what is a health voxel?
You can build health bars of any shape out of health voxels. And destroy them again with an axe.

But you might also be interested in a definition of 'Maharin':

There it is. I'm busted.

Any M16 you find will most certainly not be full auto. The M16 adopted by the military up until recently is the M16A2 and M16A4 which is a semi-auto rifle with a 3 round burst selection that almost never gets touched. They now use the M4 but still is semi-auto.

The main difference between the M16 and the AR-15 is the lack of the 3 round burst option among some other details.

(I know there are auto variants of the M16, but none of them are standard issue for any military branch that I'm aware of in the US)
