Feature request or overlooked?
Any reason why we can't make empty cans? we can make jars. what would be nice to see:

- Craft empty cans = iron + lead for seal (old school)

- Canned meat = meat + nitrate + water - empty can (canning process requires a pot so you can boil it to preserve it)

- canned fruit = fruit + water + corn meal (thickner?) + empty can

you can add spoilage to meat :)
As far as I know food spoilage, canning and refrigeration are all still planned but they're likely to be on a back burner for a while.

I am sure I am late to the game on this but how does the Starvation Mod add so much cool stuff to A16 so fast and we wait for basics to be added to the core game? don't get me wrong we need the basics but come on, Starvation mod should be part of 7DTD :)

it is like the combination of 7DTD, The Forrest, and How to Survive (all steam games).

After exhaustive study on the A17 release date question, a team of scientists have released their findings.

Using the scientific method tracked on a whiteboard, the team of foremost experts has determined that A17 will be released when ready.

That is why 7dtd is moddable, so that everyone gets what he likes. I don't think your preference is what everyone wants, otherwise everyone would play starvation.

TFP are doing a lot of modifications to the underlying engine which is more time consuming than just adding lots of XML stuff.

For example TFP once added food into the game and the ability for you to eat food to gain health. They also added some food into the game. Only then could modders add more food into the game, but that isn't a change in the engine anymore, that is just using the basic mechanisms exposed by XML to add even more food.

If TFP and modders were doing coding on the same level, some modder surely would have programmed a new AI, bandits, 4x4s, planes... That modders don't try their hands on stuff like this is evidence that there is a difference here.

So, I've found textures for a zombie scientist in the game's files. We getting those in A17? :D
PFT not anymore now that you found it and let the secret out. Thanks Xtrakicking! Ruined it for everyone. :playful:

Can't say that I agree. While some of the stuff Starvation adds is neat, I dislike the vast majority of it and do not want to play it.

Heh...There’s a learning curve to it so I expect it to be a hot topic during the first couple of weeks of experimental. People will hate it until they adapt or progress enough to have the skills, perks, and attachments that will help.
I was very much in wtf mode the first time I tried it after it was hooked up. My wtf buff hasn’t fully expired yet either....
Oh great.....just as I was trying to move to guns. *sigh*

FEATURE request - can we have an advance perk (part of unlocking chem station maybe?) that allows us to make beakers in forge with crucible?
Hey! That sounds like something that would need a set of calipers to make it, as well.

What?

I've done a lot of canning in the past- we have mason jars already in-game. Use those, you'll give yourself lead poisoning otherwise!

Great. Brought down by an army of bastards.

I would like a damagebar in the form of a Zombie filled with red like the bar when he ist at full health.

Or a zombie icon that gets more beaten up when you beat the suckers up.

And it should be optional.

We're still deciding that. It might be a perk you buy, so its not even there by default. Maybe it will just be for bosses. Originally it was for them because we have these cool group quests you can do, and having a health bar for the big boss is kind of essential in our opinion. Nobody likes a stupid radiated feral that you can't even kill because he's regenerating or whatever. We're going to communicate what kind of strengths they have as well with little icons so you know their strengths and weaknesses.
Yeah make it a perk.

and a perk for the daytime

and a perk for the map

^^

Or Items

Personally i'm still waiting for the flamethrower turret xD
I don't think Santa brings anti-personnel weapons... sorry.

I sometimes wish he was a renegade international arms dealer with an arctic base as well. Maybe next year.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
