Wow, HUGE A17 B208 crash.... I think.... :(
View attachment 26115
Technically that is a file read error, not a crash. If you didn't start a new game for b208, then it could be any numbers of changes that were made between versions and the normal solution to that is to start a new game for the new version.

Yes it is, but alas, it usually ends up being your problem. Cheer up though, Christmas will soon be here and as you know the holidays makes everyone more pleasant.

Spit my coffee out trying to say that with a straight face...
More like Roland's problem. ;)

I did start a new game. Or do I need to uninstall/re-install the game? I am lost here.

Start a new game, B208 cannot load B199 saves.

You can use the same seed to generate the world but there's no guarantee it'll look the same.

No, it only deletes files that it places. Savegame folders are considered custom and ignored.

It saves a lot of complaints about losing savegames when deleting and re-installing games.

* The steam launcher

It does. Wipes player-profiles too if selected. Well, if you select that anyway. Saw Gronk say it doesn't, I coulda sworn it deleted everything from it. I backed my old A16 saves incase I wanted to visit them for some reason.

Every time I uninstall I've got to delete the savegame folder manually. There may be a setting to do it automatically, I'm too lazy to check, but it's not activated by default.

As you can see from the original question WiggleSlap managed to install B208 without the savegame folder being wiped.

The old ones were entity models, which have more overhead, so they were replaced with block models.
Not really sure what that means sorry. But so they will not be back? They where nice and could be upgraded a lot and lasted a while, the ones now break from 1 zombie.

I was just loading the nav map option, not the random gen one.
With RWG and Nave sharing a lot of systems there is likely to be changes that affect both in ways that aren't obvious from just looking at the map. Changes in back-end engine stuff can break things even if the actual map looks the same.

Just the game launcher. I get to this screen click Load - then I get the error message. I am not using any mods - nor do I have any 3 party launcher software.

You lost me in that comment.

Then don't click continue?

You can delete the save from the load game menu and generate a new map.

This must be done with Nave maps as well because... reasons.
