Mods are amazing. Perfect replacement for gun parts.
Agreed. The gun parts setup was redundant. Ended up with piles of unusable gunparts in chests and was wondering to myself what @$$() was going around the apocalypse and taking all the guns apart like the biggest troll of all time.

You have the benefit of being a fresh new character. Give it a few weeks in game. Once you assemble your modded guns what makes you think you wont have the same issue? Only now you will have a ton of mods you dont need any longer.

Can anyone elaborate on the optimisation of A17E vs A16.4 do you see increased FPS or decreased RAM usage?
RAM usage seems to have decreased. FPS optimization is a work in progress. Some changes improved performance, others reduced it. If you had trouble running A16, I’d consider waiting for A17 stable.

Your last sentence summarize all optimization ..

I would like to suggest a levelcap of somekind for a17 stable, having max everything helps for finding bugs and whatnot for the current experimental builds, but otherwise makes you nigh invincible to zombies, even on insane mode. I was thinking around 125-150ish, just enough to get max in some things, and a bit in others.

Are you really serious about the new magically appearing Zombie Bags? Really? It doesn't break immersivness in any way. Noooo. But seriously it just looks ridiculous. What about the old looting body system? And I didn't try out long, because my friedn had an fps around 5, but did I get it right that you can't get bones out of corpses anymore? Why is that?

300 is the actual level cap.

I think that with 299+5 points you can have all your build needs.

that's what I'm saying though, It should be lowered for the stable build after they're done with experimentals. max everything is too much.

Just a heads up.. steam is auto updating, and not letting you run the launcher to remove all the previous build.

I had to let it update, run the launcher, use the cleaning tool, uninstall, manually delete the 25 leftover files the tool and uninstall did not remove, and then finally opt in to experimental again, and install.

I'm guess there will be a lot of experimental installs with old legacy files during around, and probably since issues as a result.

Before launching the new version, some observations on changes...

The new death penalty of half a day sounds more reasonable, but imho having a setting option for its duration makes more sense to me.

In answer at the number of fixes done over a holiday weekend... thanks, guys!

I'm wondering if vulture adjustments were overkill? I thought thier attack speed was fine, and realistic before, even though 5 circles me for a day, and then swooped in after I was hit and dropped below 90%. That was a great experience, and anticipated after watching them circle me for so long.

Does anyone know if gamestage is still stacked with multiple players? That was one of the biggest difficulty issues we saw on the last build.

For fun, let us rename our weapons. This will provide a certain connection and warmth to our brain mashing friends.. :)

New Wood Bars, -&- upgradable to Iron??? = FanFrickin-Tastic!! Thank you guys! :)

Seriously, been dreaming of these for a looong time. Really makes my day :)

Getting an extra punch/swing after release when I've been holding down either L or R mouse button.

The double doesn't appear to happen if I just single click either button.

So Victory Punch is mostly gone, sorry CplCritter :) (though I bet the kids are -really- happy to hear it!)

I ran a16.4 pretty decent with my mid-end laptop at 30-40 FPS. A17 runs at 15 FPS, 12 FPS sometimes indoors.

That says enough I reckon.

That's only your opinion.

I like to achieve all abilities on the long run so I can use different play styles.

Because Zombies are threat, not crops to farm (though they still are due to xp farming).

This also makes it so that you're not sure if a zombie is dead, since it's not saying "loot me" when you look at it.

Would be cool if they got further with that. Zombies could stopp moving for up to 10 seconds after beign beaten down.

some kind of deathfaking.

Try it once, then tell us how it feels to be level 300, the chuck norris himself.

Replayablity is ♥♥♥♥ed up if they do that. Making every build viable in some way looks more intersting to me than grinding every game to level 300.

The ultimate idea : Give player max level 150 or so, then add a very rare magazine (quest drop or rare loot) which gives an extra permanent skill point.

This adds very late game grinding to eventually be the chuck norris, but keeps it capped for most of the time.

yes it is, and this is the place the bug reporting thread told us to post our feedback to.

which is what i did with the suggestion of a levelcap.

I have a philosophical question :)

What exactly are you suppose to do against a dog horde on day 2?

Or is it suppose to be a random event of certain death?

In A16 there was at least a chance of escaping or fighting them.

turn around, start sprinting, and pray they get bored of you before you run out of stamina, thats about it.
