What is the deal with (can of acid)?

I don't see it listed in the chemistry station and I have yet to see it in random loot or at the traders.

Of course I do. But like I said in another response, it also will kill any server that has more than a 25 person limit to have such tiny maps.
No, having the large maps pregenerated is faster.

Some of these people have spent thousands of dollars to purchase a computer just so other people can play for free on it. Now, it's just going to be a paper weight for them...

It's a non existent issue that quite a lot of servers are going to shut down and people will stop playing because the max server count will be 20 or something with such a tiny map? Then again, what do TFP care, right? They already got the money from these people.
No, it's a non existent issue because you can make MUCH larger maps than before, and use them as many times as you want to under different save games.

You are literally making up a problem that does not exist.

@gronk

Kin said the old Rwg code is gone. Like, off his system has no backup gone. =)

A map of the same size as A16 would be a 1.6GB download for each person playing. That's insane. I tried to do it last night on a high end computer. With the same map size as A16, people can't even log in. Even after they wait forever to download the huge pregenerated map. At least with the old system, it was playable with a large map. Right now, it's impossible. Hence, killing any server with a high pop count that needs are large map.

I am still playing to get my overall opinion but this I know without further Gameplay. I did fix the Graphic settings though, I think it was the Gamma that got buffed for players afraid of the dark. Scaredy Cat's

Zombies Need Loot Or A Reward

I will use the Stone Analogy, remember the Small Stones, Medium Stones, Large Stones, XL Stones & XXL Stones. They were useless Assets that took up Space & redundant so they changed it to 1 Stone for all. They look like they are different sizes in game but 1 Asset.

By taking away Loot you turned Zombies into the Old Stones, a Useless Asset with no function but try to kill you. Why even deal with them any more, Buzzards don't give Feathers & are the New Z Dog attack that Noob's Avoid.

Let us at least get a chance of getting something besides XP for Killing Z's. Lets go back to how it used to be where Strippers give you Cash etc., Utility Workers could give Tools, Nails, etc., Cops & Soldiers Weapons & Ammo & Put the Feathers back on the Buzzards.

Every Z does not need Loot, just a chance & this could be a Perk where you level up to find greater chances & better Loot, I like Reward better & a rare-err chance of getting.

Have you tried it? lol I have. For a map slightly smaller than the A16 default, it's a 1.6GB download for each person the first time they connect. And, they can't connect. lol Once the map is downloaded, it just sits there at "creating player". I left it there for over an hour at that state. No change. Sure, you CAN make larger maps, if you want to spend 3+ hours generating it, and then no one can even log in anyways. In case you haven't done the math.. New map 64 sq. km. A16 default, 201 sq. km. Go ahead though, set up a dedi server, make a 201 sq. km map and tell me how that works out for you. lol because it won't.

"Kin said the old Rwg code is gone. Like, off his system has no backup gone. =) " That's the funniest thing I have ever heard. It can't be gone, since A16 still exists. lol

i'm thinking about mining tools. miner 69'r could give damage bonus for tool overall, not only with powerattack. it would make sense right?

another idea. with quality tiers. why not improve outcome just a tiny bit. example: tier1 does 10 damage and you get 5 product, lvl 2 does 12 damage and you get 6 product etc. (don't mind exact numbers) it looks similar to a16, but really it improves mining tools. right now they are pretty weak.

any toughts about it?

So how do you generate playable 32k maps? Just set it up in the previewer and play? Doesn't the main screen have a forced max size for generation?
Yeh that preview makes the world, so just use it.

You can do it. I did it last night. And even a 16K map is totally undoable. For a dedi server setup, it would mean a 1.6GB download for each client. And then, once they are done that, they can't even log in. lol It just sits there at "creating player" for hours. Plus, even on a brand new, high end system, it took about 3 hours to generate the map. It COULD be a lot less time, but the use of multithreading stops when the generation phase hits "generating country roads". Once it gets there, it goes back to single core, no multithreading.

I don't care about other players, I want 32k to play on my own. :-)

Roland, MM, Faatal, Gazz or to whom it corresponds

A very important question, will we have the translation into Spanish in the next experimental?

Almost the whole game is in English yet, we do not understand English very much, we need skills and missions

are in Spanish, to be able to enjoy 100% of the game, currently almost all the content is in English,

and we do not understand almost anything, we only act on instinct, please take into account the translation into Spanish of at least the skills

and the missions, the Spanish-speaking community of this game is giant is very big

Please add to the next experimental the translation of at least the skills and missions

Thank you!

Of course it could be made faster.

That's why it's /disabled/ at the moment. Until it IS made faster. Jesus. You really should reconsider hosting a dedi in experimental, you are definitely not okay with what that entails.

Read 'Salvage Operation' perk description.
thank you, but bloody hell, it shouldnt be under perc. it is a resource gathering, as str, or mech as int. scattering them all over the place is... well sloppy and unintuitive.

Have you tried getting yourself soaking wet in a lake?
i try when sun is again up, have my first horde night this moment.

Defenses work better as inended, until now One Zombie punched one time.

All they do is run in a huge circle XD

I love cheese

Ok, so alphado did a test and made a 16x world... Go to the advance screen and you can set the preview number higher, which apparently does generate a world....he did a 32x and said it took hours, fyi.
Sure it works. Just click the button. But too much hassle with players expecting that to be instant...
I can confirm that.

I have a 5820K@4,5Ghz and a 8x Map took ~7minutes.

So doubling the size to 16x is actually making it bigger by 4 times (like 1080p vs 4K), so i guess it would take at least 28minutes.

A 32x Map would then take 2 hours.

I didnt check how the map generating process was single or multithreaded, but if it is single it probably will take even longer on servers because they dont clock as high.

When the map area is still a circle, then it would be multiplied by Pi? Well thats a thing for Roland :congratulatory:

It has a keyboard, and a screen. The left CTRL-key doesn't work anymore..
Ahum, sorry.. I'm at work currently, but I'm having a 8 Gb RAM i7 from the top of my head, with an NVIDEA 740 something something if I remember correctly.
Upgrading your ram to 16GB is relatively inexpensive and may help. Maybe someone with more expertise could chime in to confirm?

Thanks for the tip! Is that possible with a laptop you think?

I just carried out an update for my GPU (last update was 2 years ago.. woops).. Gained 1-2 FPS, so that's also viable!

Yep, laptop ram is usually nice and accessible from the bottom, behind a 1 screw plate. Just make sure the one you're adding is EXACTLY like the other.
