This is what experimental is for. Play what the devs have created and give feedback so that the stable version is the best it can be. If people are getting sick that needs to be reported.
Please add FOV back in the game. It will guarantee make me feel like I'm hungover (with none of the fun of drinking) at the default value of 65. Do I report this in the bugs thread?

Why would they remove a working FOV slider and lock it at an amount is beyond me.
Well I think we can still change it through console commands.
I'm sure it can be modded. but seems strange that we are still dealing with this in 2018.

Misconfigured FOV settings can cause motion sickness in some people.

"Motion sickness : Smaller FOVs tend to exaggerate camera movement, whilst larger FOVs tend to minimise its effect on the image. Thus setting a wider FOV can sometimes help to reduce motion sickness during gameplay."

as not everyone plays at the same FOV as everyone else... there is an option in your "UserOptions.ini" file (at least in a17 there is and i am sure its there for a16 but not 100% positive.

it is this here when you get it --> "OptionsFieldOfView 90" located in the base folder where your saves are or should be if default.

any event once you and whomever gets a17 and you feel the need to change a setting then it will be there. also as Roland stated... please test it in a17 first, when it was changed i too didnt welcome it but it has now been something i dont even notice.. some of us just dont get used to new changes all that well. :) hope this helps

for those who are wondering... my fov is at 70 (i changed the number to 90 to show where or what it will look like)

I've been silently following these boards for a while (bought the game in 2014 but registered only recently as I started playing it seriously only last year) and this is the main worry with A17.

I can adapt to pretty much every change you guys throw at us, but if the game gives me migraines and makes me nauseous... I'm out.

Please, adjustable fov, I can't do with small fovs (reason why I can't play on consoles most of the time)...

Edit: Thanks for the info unholyjoe.

3600 hours in the game, and I can still get a bit woozy playing it. I always just assumed that it was all the looking up and down that was affecting me.

I've always been loathe to increase FOV, as I believed jambing more terrain into the same screen area would lead to more HDD grinding and performance issues as it works to load all those extra distant features that would otherwise have fallen off in the periphery using a smaller FOV.

But then, I don't use a widescreen monitor anyway.

Must admit though, if a game has an option to remove headbob, I'll take it every time.

Sorry. No timer. The update time is not like a scheduled appointment or like catching a bus.
If the first release candidate doesn’t work out then there will be fixes and then a new build created and tested.

So we set a timer and when it completes and we can’t release it because reasons everyone says we lied and broke promises.

The plan is for Monday just as soon as a viable build is ready. It won’t be the same build the streamers played. It will be a new build with several fixes. We hope that your experience will be even better than what you saw.

Changing the amount of water for the advanced drinks (green tea is what I'm thinking of) will be a huge good deal for SP people who don't find a working forge early game (To make the extra jars needed).

MP people will have a "craftsman" who would spend the points to get the forge day 1.

The only game that ever got me motion sick was star wars dark forces. If I left the head bob on, oh man I was sick in two minutes. Only game that ever happened on. I play 7dtd on a 50" TV from my comfy chair. Kept FOV around 80 and never an issue.....we shall see. At least it will be adjustable my .ini file editing.

There look to be some fairly serious bugs in the A17e so far - notably the POI's crashing down, weapons swapping to other weapons, infinite arrow bugs and loot boxes with all the same loot in it. Will this delay the release to the public, or will it still come out on time? And how many hours from now... I am planning my day here!

Tell me about it!

Been great watching the stream team but damn its Monday now where is MY update!! xD

Yes. We discovered different devs had it at different settings. That changed the consistent look the designers wanted and it was causing performance issues. The average player often changes settings, not knowing what they are doing, making the game run poorly and then we get the blame, so we locked it down. There is a setting in the ini file, but it looks like debug mode (dm) has to be on for it to use it.

I am watching kages stream now as he goes through perks. I am counting 60, 60, 60, 50, 53 points to spend total for everything. that is 283 points -5 points because you start with 1 in each main skill. That is 278 points. It has been said that at max lvl we get 299 points total+ 5 for the starter quests.

Am i missing something or can we get everything and still have points to spare in experimental?

@roland, 17 looks great! I will not be on much - I have a portal vein thrombosis. I have no clue what that is. Keep MM on the right track.

i would not think a player could get to level 20 on day one. do you think the xp bonus for party members would be enough to get that high?

Sigh.

Okay well you can't make all the people happy all the time you guys know this but please don't make people suffer because of some users that don't know what they are doing, I need to have it at 75 or 80 or it just doesn't feel right to me.

You can put a tool tip on the mouse over that the performance Impact is medium or high or whatever.

I think it would be more reasonable to limit it to 80 max instead of just completely locking it down to 65, I'm going to drop this for now because I don't want to harp on it and I've said what needs to be said about it.
