So, Navezgane is now bigger than the old Random Gen? :f
- - - Updated - - -

ASL?
Not even close. It grew from 16 square kilometers(4km x 4km) to 36 square kilometers(6km x 6km). The old RWG was about 400 square km(20km x 20km).

Not for me. I buy a perk then use that perk. Before I had the perk I was doing what that perk would require me to do anyway because thats how I am playing. When I buy my first blade perk I've probably already stabbed several zombies. When I buy my first master chef perk I've already cooked some charred meat. This lets you play how you want to play without jumping through artificial hoops.
Hey MM! First and foremost Alpha 17 looks amazing!!!

Now to my earlier comment. I totally understand the concept of the progression and skill tree. And I wouldn't expect you to build a progression that you yourself dont enjoy.

Hence my question. How modable is the progression.

I personally liked a15 levelsystem. I dont see gaining experience grinding as artificial hoops. I would compare it to real life learning.

Any idea what time this alpha might drop? Or what time most alphas have? I ask so I know to call out of work Monday or Tuesday (work mornings)!
Apologies if this is the wrong thread for such a question or if it's already been addressed
Judging my past releases. Expect it in the late afternoon. That is based on a PST time zone. When you see the forum crashing then you know its close

Thankyou to all who posted your offers of advice on how we should proceed, we are however a well oiled machine and long time running server, Oz.Nz Rawhope started live back in Alpha 10, (thanks to 2 guys Mythan and RooiValk777) this server is not new to adjusting to each alpha. We are fine with some not knowing us here in the forums, because we don't gripe and complain about every change in the alphas, we roll with the punches and get on with playing the game. If no changes are made will will still love and play the game, we will still run our server for our large community and we already have a work-around in motion.
We were not complaining or asking for ways around this new change, we simply wanted to bring to light how the change will affect "us". We have done that and thankfully I was able to explain it in a way that MM understood.

We truly do all appreciate the acknowledgment of the issues we are facing MM, and thrilled that you see it from our side. Thats all i could ask for. Many server owners were following this thread and the subject matter the moment i started it. I knew i would get input from many directions, knew I would get those who were distracted by their own limitations of knowledge of not experiencing what we deal with day in and day out, which is fine by us, my only goal was to bring it to light, to those who cam make a difference.

lol, I would love to get into the debate on the subject of our admin builds, and point out that most of those I created, with ONLY what the fun pimps give us in create mode, no diff tricks or recipes, we still sit in the Unmodded section of 7 days, which proves we don't change the .xml's. I could even do a vid and show people how I created each of my builds, (the ones some feel the need to point out) but ALL that has NOTHING to do with the reason I spoke out. My builds are not what we want to protect. Our player builds are. Like Damit said, your welcome to go see for yourself :) no need to debate that here. Our players are a friendly bunch and would show anyone around.

Bring on a17, we are Ready here at oz.nz Rawhope, and our player base is already trickling back in pacing the floors of our discord, excited for the release. Much planned for experimental. Much testing for us, to see how our "Not 8 Player" Server will handle a17. lets get onto Playing the game. !!!
I like role playing and building games. When I built a base in Fallout 76 and logged in to see its gone and then find out you don't even play on the same server each time the fact that I couldn't "change the world" really irked me. In one of my single player fallout games I built my own casino on top of a bridge that had stores and npcs everywhere. It had lighting and juke boxes, etc etc. I was super cool with elevator mods to get to it, and a mod to remove the number of objects you could use for a settlement. My point is I can see how much fun it is to "town build" because I've done it.

I personally like to deck out a cool base late game in 7 days, just to give a finger to the zombie apocalypse and its cool to show off to your friends and nice not looking at drab reinforced concrete or steel.

I personally like the faster stand up, the slower stand up made them far too easy to kill. Also, it seems more immersive.
Yeah me to. Zombies animation looks great imo. Even though the jump anim looks a little bit goofy I get a war z feeling of it.

I am resting a finger to be prepared for the usual F5 pressing event. A bit hyped to be honest.

Last 5 releases I remember were always late afternoon in Europe.

Like a little bit easier?
Like exactly twice as fast at leveling.

Instead of killing about 10 zombies per level each player kills 5 and you can kill them much safer (one guy trolls the zombie, the other smashes them from the side or back.

Then only one guy needs to specialize at certain skills. (cooking and crafting). A four player team is probably perfect.

I think it's great that co-op gets some real luv in this update. Also seeing the healthbar of friends is a big plus. With that said.

If it's that hard for new players that they have to team up I think it's a bad design.

But I doubt that it will be that hard for new players.

I have a soft spot for new players of this game and want them to have a great experience! that's why I'm so keen on this topic.

If I recall correctly, A16e came out somewhere during the night (here in mainland Europe).. I remember distinctly since I got out of bed very, very early on a Sunday morning.

My wife called me crazy for doing that just to play a zombie video game ^^

I think the 16.4 RandomGen World is round with a Radius of 10km (314 squarekilometers) :)

Crazy is better than normal. Indeed , I remember I was in a friend when a tweet from joel poped up saying A16e is out. I jumped from the sofa dancing and ppl wonder whats wrong/right. They thought it was because of a girl. Next morning was happy one.

Lol my wife just read you comment over my shoulder. And she agrees with your wife.

I hope TFP are a little bit crazy and doing it a little bit earlier in comparison to the last times.

But we don’t know what the last fixes are about before the Monday release.

I do hope someone is testing/using the Linux client/server, since I'm not seeing Linux in any of the bug posts (or in the stream descriptions).

(cause I want to see if the 16gb mem crash is gone! (unity limitation))

I'll find out tomorrow when I get my grubby mitts on it. :)

(and yes, I'll die gloriously live) :p

A few observations we made while watching various streams.. almost no one is using stealth at all, so its very hard to judge its impact. I know I'm always using it when going into a new poi.

Rare loot drops from zombies is great, but I think there needs to be a better visual cue to loot dropping. My wife pointed out the brown sack does blend in a lot with many of the ground textures. Maybe like the bird nests it can be brighter, or not affected by lighting and shadows as much?

Another improvement might be an audio que that loot has dropped.. not a toon bell or whistle, but maybe the sound of something hitting the ground or floor like a thump or something?

Its also really had to judge combat with streamers because they haven't levelled up enough perks to have thm stacked for combat enhancement.

We did watch one day 14 horde night stream.. they camped out at the navezgame diresville hospital roof. The zombies decimated the spikes by the ladders, then did navigate well to the roof access... but by midnight on day 14 horde night, there was just a tiny trickle of occasional zombies that were easily dispatched.

That seemed anticlimatic for seeing the first a17 night 14 horde night.

So I like that I can get some of my arrows back, will I be able to retrieve my casings? maybe an casing catcher mod?
Hm, sir, finding and getting a bullet casing out from a body is not like getting a stick out of it. I know what you mean and brass being ballanced could fix the problem with lack of .. of it.

For SP, Easy has left the building.

A well organized team of four veteran players will face roll the game.

So far, SP is unrelentingly oppressive even to the expert players. Some have stopped streaming or are trying to figure things out offline.

Stamina is the center of everything a player does in A17. So, one player can do only so much in 7 days and no more (unless they find a coffee warehouse) :)

Thank you, brother. Im on eastern time, so I guess I'll go to work Monday and call out Tuesday lol. Anyone else feel like it's xmas eve? Geez I'm antsy.

Can't wait to see what you modders do with this too! ;-)

The actual map was a 20km x 20km square. The radiation zone made the usable portion of that a circle with a 10km radius .
