I hope for more dynamic like clean an area from Z's, Escort NPC, produce X amount of crops to Trader in X amount of time, fortify and keep a buildings integrity of X amount% during a horde night....
Keep on dreaming the good dreams, my friend :)

Passengers in vehicles was finished because I was in the same code fixing other vehicle problems and it was a target of opportunity. That does not mean everyone is trying to jam in last minute features. Most are not, but some people have few bugs, so they also spend their time improving stuff.
Have I told you recently that you are my hero? ;)

Also I use them when mining. Which i often do away from base (LCB)
yep me too, but when people are hell bent on telling others how and what they should do in a game .... they dont look past their self centered minds to what or how things like that are part of the game and WILL affect everyone in one way or another.

Hey, I'm only pointing out that while tfp spins their wheels on non issues like spam crafting and underground threats, a HUGE exploit sits there comfortable in the knowledge that it'll never be addressed...

Yeah I'll tuck them in right beside the sweet dreams about a lore focused update, more zombie types, spawning dressed and book/learning skillsystem without player level :D

Well nerd poling isn't a threat to progression/end game so....you know not a priority.

This week everyone has been doing the usual finishing and fixing.
-Snipped... a lot-

1. Changed wandering hordes to start and end on a line 30-45m to the side of the targeted players.

2. Added wandering hordes have 30% chance to skip for 12 hours if targeting a single player.

3. Fixed vehicle could be taken while it had a driver.
1. Glad to see the wandering horde conga line is still alive and well... and even improved as to give players the most optimal viewing angle so we can enjoy the show!

2. Not only is the conga line alive and well, but we have a 30% chance to watch a wondering horde frolic through the meadows - Oh joy!! Suggestion: whenever this happens, can it trigger the song, Staying Alive and the horde skips perfectly to the beat? Again, so happy you have adjusted their path to allow the most optimized viewing angle... I don't want to miss this!

3. Oh please put this back it!!! PLEASE! This sounds hilarious!!! It would most definitely increase the comedic factor by 10 in servers. It would also add some balancing because that 4X4 looks OP. If a player is constantly worried he is going to drive by someone who will quickly pick him and his truck up and put him in their pocket, the 4X4 would only be used in extreme circumstances. The driver should also experience a "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" moment before his screen goes dark.

All kidding aside, thank you for the update, faatal! I am so stoked to get in A17.

But I can skipz tha poi dangers!
Still only a minor progression hiccup. Since you need to have high level lootskill to get endgame gear.

But now with high level poi's and gear this might get you too endgame gear on the first week. so nerd pooling might have to go.....ooops sorry guys ;)

Don't forget, they took away 1 block ingress because it made it easier to enter pois...

About nerdpoling; as it was stated previously, even in the event that TFP removes that "cheat", players can still climb walls by using a stair step approach along the face of the wall. Or the other option would be to, instead of nerdpoling on one single stack of blocks, simply stack 2 columns together and just keep jumping up on the alternate block as you go up. So why should TFP waste the time and manpower on removing nerdpoling when they can fix other issues? If you don't personally like nerdpoling, don't do it. You don't want others you play with to do it, create a server for non-nerdpoling players.

Good point. Old games used the printed handbook or an in-game book for such information, modern games try to give such information through books, papers, letters found in-game or dialogs with NPCs.
Possible methods in 7d:

* A letter in your starting inventory warning about zombies that might run or glow.

* Books or pamphlets that have a very high chance to be found when you are low-level could talk or warn about dangerous zombies hiding in some of the houses

* starting quests could mention them and suggest caution

* the trader you visit as part of the starting quest could have dialog options with such information with the advantage that selecting shuch dialog is purely optional
These sorts of things should very much happen.

Regarding the whole "some POIs have higher threat level" thing, I've seen radiated cops in the basements of some of the houses in Diersville on week 1. I don't care what's in the safe, that's just too much. (not a complaint, just a threat assessment) I was down there for the basement medicine cabinets, actually, after the hospital yielded exactly 0 antibiotics and I was on day 2 of an infection already. The infection was a gift from a silent dog horde on day 2. It was a rough start.

Latest game had another "that's AWESOME" town layout near-ish to my start. RWG dev, my hat's off to you.

i hate first person driving, limited visiblity
Maybe they can add an option to change between third person and first person, depending on every taste. We all can be happy at the same time!

Entering a vehicle and changing the camera to third person all of the sudden breaks the immersion a little bit for me.

I would love seasons, would give it one more aspect of surviving.Even better if you would have:

-No plants growing if it is below a specific temperature

-Winter has to be long enough ingame to be hazardous
I don't know if someone responded to this already, as I'm still trying to read through the backlog...but I would LOVE the introductions of actual seasons. Though it'd kill a certain aspect of "realism," I think it'd be great to have seasons that last either 15 or 30 days. Day 1 would start Spring, and you can plant and grow, as well as through Summer and Autumn. Maybe specific plants for specific seasons, though that might be harder to track. Would make winter, where you'd only have the fewest of cold-temp plants you could grow, a serious survival push. You'd have to be using heat, you'd risk drawing hordes to your base, and food and prep would pay off if you've done it, and you'd struggle hardcore if you haven't.

I don't know how difficult that would be to implement, but man...I'd LOVE it.

Wandering hordes are a must have, but when they are single file they are too easy to dispatch with a good melee weapon. They need to be more of a cluster than a line.

Yes, we would not replace 3rd with 1st, since i prefer 3rd for the all around visibility. 1st would be an extra.

The camera blends now. Not as jarring.
