If there was any response to my question in post #37079 a week ago I've missed it. So has there been any change to the way loot respawning works in A17?

Also has there been any changes to the way servers are sorted in the listings? The term "vanilla" doesn't seem to mean the same thing to all people.

Hello Roland. Can we detect false floor any way, except step on it? May be shoot it, or hit it with club or axe, may be throw a stone on it (hello from STALKER with it's anomalies :) )?
Detect false blokcs only when we step it, it's not good! Can you ask Joel about it? Thx.
Same way as A16. Hit it if you're suspicious. Step on it if you're not thinking about it. Either way you find out.

I don't believe there have been changes to those things. Can't really know about A17 servers until they are populated but I haven't heard about any changes to it. I think there are the same exact options for loot respawning in the main menu.

Could we get a console command that forces all containers to immediately respawning? It's a touch frustrating to run a little too close to a container and reset the loot respawn timer.

does it work like that? I'm pretty sure it doesn't reset just because you got near the container

edit: I like your previous idea of it having a range on the time tho.

Well to be honest that was my take on why it was removed. I know it felt unnatural to me compared to what I was used to and one day it was just removed and everything was back to the way it has always been. I don't know the actual reason it was reverted with many MANY apologies to the many MANY people who played the beegezus out of Borderlands 2.
I'll ask.

EDIT: From Joel: It was not a good control scheme for moving in close quarters and having fine control in tense situations and we decided we didn't like it for this game.
This is very unfortunate. This was one of the things I was most looking forward to (not that most of the other stuff coming doesn't look great). Is there a reason we can't just have an option for toggle sprinting like most games have? It's such a convenient feature that I immediately miss every time I play this.

Dogs love you because you are the alpha dog, the boss, the master... You are Stalin.

Cats love you only if you deserve love... Cats are Stalin and Stalin loved only one person in his life. Be that one person in a cats life. :)

IIRC the loot crates respawn timer resets if you come within 15 blocks of it. Been like that forever.

that's surprising to me but good to know then

I was thinking about those tree stumps next to my door. They regularly respawn loot making me think they don't reset when I walk near them every day, now I'm thinking if that's 15 blocks away or it the reset works differently for different loot containers

If you look closely in a16 alot of these fake floors look slightllly diffrent than the other ones around them. If unsure thou just hit it with a weapon or tool, if your in a concrete building and it has a wood sound, good chance its a fake floor. The bathroom and such in the crack a book tower comes to mind.

I have a custom script I use with autohotkey that does 2 things: 1 is a auto walk I assign to Q. I hit Q it keeps walking forward till I hit a directional key, namely forward/back, or hit Q again. the other function I bind to . and this is a auto left clicker thing. Hit it once, game keeps swinging to I left click or hit . again. I use a logitech g-300 gaming mouse so, yeah, I have those 6 extra buttons. I have sprint assigned to one of my side mouse buttons as well. Probally could set the script to walk forward and hold sprint even.

I was thinking about seeds, and I would like, if the posibility to craft seeds would be locked behind a skill ^^
Hi SittingDuck! You probably missed the Halloween A17 video on pokketninja's channel featuring big gentle Madmole in the flesh.

The answer to your question is yes, absolutely. Crafting seeds, as seen in the video, is now gated behind the first level of the perk "Living off the land".

I may try this. Would take me a bit to fully figure it out as I've only used autohotkey once before for something much simpler, but if it's possible to set it up where holding W and pressing shift would function as holding shift until either pressed again or you let go of the W key it would functionally be the same thing that most games do.

I wish TFP would do something to improve looting. I like to play on an mp server, but when you do you seem to have two choices, first you live near the center of the map and have severely reduced if not game crippling looting opportunities compared to a sp game. Alternatively you move out towards the perimeter of the map where you might not have any competition for loot at all, and you might not ever run into another player which means you might as well be playing a sp game after all. From a server owners perspective you might wonder if your slots are just wasted on outback players.

I like the change that fighting the horde will affect sleeper volumes, this will help players that fight the horde compete with players that dodge the horde and have much more time to loot.

I hope the addition of new vehicles will reduce the widespread dependence on teleporting.

I want a better looting system that allows players to have more overlapping playing territory, still promote competition but have more balanced rewards compared to the winner takes all feeling I'm getting from the current system. The best idea I have is randomized loot times.

I think the new dungeon like POI designs make looting a city much more difficult, so that should improve the problem of crowded areas, and if the server resets citys every week this perhaps the problem is solved... we see ^^
