The reason why the feature is not in the game yet, is not because they think it is better for the game to not have it.
No dev has corrected me on this yet :)
OK I will be more direct.

No Dev owes you an explanation.

Things are not automatically true until they are proven false.

Get over yourself.

Most likely because you nor your question is that important.

The reason...No dev ...

Speaking of the risks of one-block egress... Y'know, crouch-walking isn't merely slow, it's tiring.

We're not built to walk like that. It's more physically taxing on the leg muscles than upright walking. In real life you might crouch-walk to present a smaller target, fit through a small opening, or avoid detection; but nobody's crouch-walking to save their strength. Just imagine how your legs feel after running a mile, and then imagine how they'd feel after crouch-walking a mile.

Yet I think in every game I've played, stamina and movement speed are directly related. So the convention in games is that crouch-walking takes as much stamina as walking, or even less. But really, it should take more stamina.

Large BPs are for sissies!

The devs have said when backpacks are added you will start with a smaller bag and the current space you have is biggest bag.
I honestly don't understand why loot issues are so tough for people. It's easy to place a chest to store stuff and you shouldn't be able to carry 100 items on you.
Amen, Brother!

I hope the storage on the 4x4 is more than the minibike. I know how much stuff I could cram into a Jeep. (not to mention adding a trailer)

Without all the gun parts though, there may not be as much junk to haul as before.

(and dear gods, less pistols please!! have a crate full in one game)

I would love this! Make it so even without one-block egress!

Nope, there was actually a poll about this. You are wrong
Cuz any poll is always representative of everyone.

I got your response, mission accomplished then
With that one statement, don't you pretty much admit to trolling? And if that is the case, why would anyone ever try to take you seriously?

I don't believe that in a million years. Unless a Dev cares to explain..
You expect a dev to respond to you after things you have posted like the above?

I am NOT a dev, but it was mentioned that a mod does this. I have played almost all the major mods (except Guppy's! Waiting for him to implement VR...) And I had given up some time ago.

And then 1highgate opened my mind again and I thought I would try it in Ravenhearst (3)

And you can do it! (crouched)

Well, there goes a million years... So much for reasonable statements...

HaHa proud to be a 1 block supporter since day one and RH will ALWAYS have it in.

But come on lets go light on KingSlayer. He paid his 15 bucks, so of course the devs owe him answers :rollseyes

about the zombie corpeses they could disappearing in a bubbling goo or something i think that would look better as when the corpses disappear immediately

i know it's a silly idea but i just try to help xP

I really hope that Alpha 17 has something better in mind then zombies going "POOF". I enjoyed searching the zombies after a good base defense.

I've been gone a month, what'd I miss?
(Scans posts)

Oh, nothing. Carry on.

Alpha, beta, omega, don't care, titles are meaningless, imo.
I like how Guppy's definition of being "gone for a month" is only posting five times in the last two weeks

Replace the word "hard" with "time-consuming" and you'll be closer to the truth. It was harder to get A* to work with 2 block gaps than it would be to get it to work with 1 block gaps. Of course, you've worked with A* before so you know this already.
1m would be easier, since all that extra high block code could go away, but then most entities would hit their face on the top block. ;)

I could just dupe the code, strip out the high blocks and make a separate 1m grid, but then it would be about half the speed and use twice the memory and take more dev time. That is not the best solution and I have better things to work on for A17.

TFP has no engine to optimize. But they do have all the game code to take care of. So their work should even be simpler. One of the biggest issues people having with game is game stutter caused by garbage collection. Unity has very good writeup about that. To sum it up - do the right thing with regards to memory allocation.
Yes we do. A game engine consists of a lot of layers. In any big game project that uses a 3rd party engine, you almost always build a bunch of systems on top of that, which becomes your own engine. Just like Unity's own 3d physics system is build on top of nVidia's Physx code. All an engine really is, is the sum total of all systems that the devs consider generic and could be used on another game. Half our code falls into that category.

Play it like I do, Loot to 25%, (You'll be happy for any Pistol) Zombies set to insane, 16h daylight, 64Zs on Horde Night - and you are in for an awesome survival Adventure, that will make you proud of what you have accomplished under those Circumstances. The only Thing I really hate about the Game, are Old Sham Sandwiches...
