grapple gun possible? i guess not but i had to askThe xml is very powerful making it easy to do about whatever I can imagine, so modders will go nuts with this stuff.

Same as any other vehicle. It is basically a tricycle that can float through the air.
I think it depends on how the trees are built up. I remember someone mentioning that you can't pick all skills but it won't lock you out of things in a single player game - it just enhances your capabilities.note:
i bet that at least 20-30% of new whining will be about "i can't max out all the trees" (as if it had not already been said)
No, but you could have boots that let you jump 10 blocks high.grapple gun possible? i guess not but i had to ask
Love having more perks and skills. But it does seem kinda weird to increase automatic fire rate by a skill, rather than only a weapon mod. Being an expert at gun handling doesn't make the weapon fire faster. And yes, a fair dinkum of time was spent on the design. The A16 skills are quite bland in comparison. In A17 you don't just improve a number within a perk (most perks at least?) but can actually gain one or more different abilities.

for multiplayer this makes lots of sense it brings a whole new class system to the game but for single player, i dunno man we'll play it out. but i wouldnt like the lack of endgame content. for example u are an amazing builder armorcraftsmen and weaponsmith. but thats all, no electricity and such would suck. but i think they'll have a solution for that.i can't wait :|
skill trees looks so so promising!
at that point of the alpha i'm ready to gift the game without fearing stupid comments from my friends![]()
first early access game i bought in my life, totally worth it even (maybe?! more) if it gets another 2-3 year to get fully polished.

gj hold on TFP and all the non-TFP guys hired too!
(feel lucky you work on that piece of game instead a stupid Actuarial Windows Form application - 2018 winform :| )
My guess is that it took basically ripping it out and replacing it to make the changes. Sometimes you find out your first try just doesn't pan out when you try to flesh it out and you have to rip it out. Which is EXACTLY what Alpha is for.Currently not a fan of the new skill system, but that's mostly because I don't understand the logical process in what APPEARS to be completely ripping out an old system... and replacing it with this.
I would've much preferred to see this as an add-on (with tweaks, cos durability isn't really a thing anymore) to what we currently have so we get a more fleshed-out system over-all rather than something that appears to be more bare-bones.
I also feel that completely ripping out systems and replacing them at this late stage in development is just a bad idea... and before anyone tries to tell me "Well it's an Alpha!" you don't do that in an Alpha, especially when we're apparently close to beta.
That's Pre-Alpha level stuff. However it would seem that dev's believe "Early Access" basically means "Do whatever you like until you're happy."
I'm sure this is going to come across as me having a female dog for no reason, but I honestly have serious reservations about doing stuff like that. I'm also not happy about the Wellness system being removed after that was tweaked for several alpha's to get it somewhat right, but I found that to be a pain in the butt anyways, so it's no great loss.![]()
You're welcome to your feelings but if you're going for a strict definition of alpha then replacing systems, either because the original was a placeholder or you've come up with something better, is the very definition of alpha.I also feel that completely ripping out systems and replacing them at this late stage in development is just a bad idea... and before anyone tries to tell me "Well it's an Alpha!" you don't do that in an Alpha, especially when we're apparently close to beta.

The very definition of Alpha is that your systems should be in-place, bug fixed and REFINED.You're welcome to your feelings but if you're going for a strict definition of alpha then replacing systems, either because the original was a placeholder or you've come up with something better, is the very definition of alpha.
Pre-alpha is when the mechanic exists only on paper or in your head, in this case it was pre-kickstarter.
Okay... I'm not going to bother correcting you. You're obviously too emotional to be letting stupid little things like "facts" get in the way of your opinion. The very definition of Alpha is that your systems should be in-place, bug fixed and REFINED.
Not stripped out and replaced.
And no, Pre-Alpha isn't only on paper. I have been playing a Pre-Alpha game for a few months, though the better term might be "Tech Demo"

Well, doesn't really matter how Merriam Webster would call what TFP is doing. Without them still redesigning we wouldn't have gotten the new physics system with all its improvements and definitely not the new buff system. You as a modder should be the last to critizise the last change at least. The very definition of Alpha is that your systems should be in-place, bug fixed and REFINED.

They have to do this cause someone is going to be offended no matter what you do. Grab some tissues ya babies! That's all very encouraging, and it goes without saying everyone would love a video. One thing I'll be curious to see is how granular the perks feel in practice. That is, if each level is enough to make an appreciable difference. In other news, it's a shame every single image you post has to be hidden behind that 'may contain sensitive material' warning.
very cool. thanx.First look at attributes and perks:https://twitter.com/joelhuenink/status/1047301010429947904/photo/1
