I understand what you mean about active multiplayer servers and your numbers may very well be accurate (I haven't looked) but you can not however discount all the single player numbers when considering MM's assertion that PVP is 1% of the "total" player base. I'm assuming he would have more information on that than we would. So considering, if he is remotely close to accurate then when decisions are made that may affect PVP or PVE adversely one can reasonably see why the pro PVE option would be favored. While that may suck for those who enjoy PVP it is understandable from a business standpoint to cater to the majority of the fan base.
What he said was not wrong but he tried to use it to essentially say "PvPers don't matter, ♥♥♥♥ those guys" and I took offense to that because I have around 2k hours of PvP in this game and have played with a lot of really great PvPers on a lot of really great, high-population servers. People who really care about the game and where it's headed. People who have been here for years and years and keep coming back. And just looking at the number of active players on PvP servers (and servers that allow PvP) you can easily see we make up more than a minuscule speck in the online MP community.

My point is only that MM is acting like there are no PvPers by taking his total numbers (probably mostly people who bought the game and never really played it) to shrink the perceived amount of active PvPers. Nothing more. I'm not saying he's wrong by saying PvPers are 1% of the total owners, but it's misleading to think they make up only 1% of active, devoted players that have come back to the game for years and years. That's my point.
i dont really know , but i think it was stated that this dosnt meant to be PVP

The issue is wasted animal spawns, imo.
But yeh, we need spoilage to counter the crates of food we stockpile.

If you want spoilage of food, just go play one of the 100's of other survival games that have that. Food not spoiling is one of the reason I play this game. Because when you add in more stuff like that, eventually you are micromanaging too much and never have time to actually build a defense and play the game.

Not to change the topic, but Oh Great and Mighty Roland, any chance we could get a vid of the new map editor? As a Server admin the ability to raise/level/edit the map before game start will be a tremendous asset.

It's definitely not meant for PvP but there's still an extremely unique niche in 7 Days PvP that isn't filled by any other game, and as such you have a thriving PvP community under your nose and refuse to acknowledge it. And then the developers shoot down PvPers and everyone else feels emboldened to join in this chorus of "the game isn't for PvP" meanwhile us PvPers are having a blast for literally thousands of hours over here like

I'm sorry eidobunny. I hate to see you with hurt feelings. :sorrow: If it helps, I don't generally PVP but I feel you are a valid and important part of the community. I know, my opinion doesn't count for much really but its the only thing I can offer.

In my pockets or on me = phone, fitbit, jewelry, headset, glasses, and a thing I put my hair in a bun that is a wire mesh with stick that goes through it. That is just setting here doing nothing. If I were out for a walk I have a running belt that holds quiet a few items. Back when I was working outside of the house I use to keep my keys, a small pocket knife or a leather man (multi tool type of thing) and money on me at all times....along with some stuff I listed above. People do carry stuff with them. Maybe it because i am in the south but it is very normal for a man to have keys, pocket knife, watch and wallet with him. Maybe not so much women but I worked with computers so the leather man was super handy.
and when the zombies came , you through your belt ,droped your purse or wallet , tried to use all the weapons but no results , see you have nothing now ;)

Looting every zombie after a horde night could add up.
The problem is, we don't see 7 day or wandering hordes as delivery guys. =)

What of noticeable value to a zombie apocalypse survivor do you have in your pockets right now? =P
It depends on what I'm doing at any given moment. If the flag went up, you'd bet I'd have worthwhile survival goodies in my pockets (I was a Boyscout and in the military) and depending on where and what I was doing, I'd have them there anywhere between 30 seconds and 10 minutes.

I suspect other service members would say something similar. Maybe Al or Chud can chime in with something...

yeah i know , i have friends of mine play it pvp ,but with there own rules , like every one build a base and no killing outside your base , only destroying Z's with the right to kill you in there base sneaking . its something more pve with lil pvp in it

A wallet (leather) with cash (paper) andCredit cards (plastic). A multi purpose tool including knife and screw driver, and finally, a magnum condom.
After this long, it's just a ring of dust in an indented wallet...

Fixed it for ya.. :playful:

;)
Lol. You and your wallet ring jokes this week... =)

Yeah for sure, a lot of servers do something like that. Limited PvP. Usually those servers will be labeled PvPvE. I've seen a lot of servers have something like, only PvP at hub city.

I'm talking weighted averages. I think it's unfair to imply that because "less than 1% of players play pvp" that pvp doesn't make up a significant portion of the playerbase. Consider 1,000 people play single player for 10 hours each, and 10 people play multiplayer for 1,000 hours each. How do you judge this situation from a developer point of view. Well, the 1,000 people made you more money, but the 10 people are the ones that are devoted to the game. Who do you consider as you continue to develop the game? Well the 10 people are only 1% of the playerbase, but they make up 50% of the playtime. Is it fair to act like they are such a minuscule percentage of the community that you can safely disregard them?
I'm trying real hard to be sympathetic to your concerns, I really am as I wouldn't want my game style to be adversely affected by changes made. So assuming the numbers you quoted were accurate you may very well have a point......

BUT.....and this is a big but....

Where in the world did you pull those numbers from?? Making numbers or statistics up to support your argument does not help make your case, it only diminishes it substantially.

Don't worry, I know... just stirring the pot to keep Roland flush with cash.

Nice try. No purse listed, that stuff is either in pockets or on me. The running belt is not going to drop...I would not take the time to fiddle with it. I would have ran. I am not fool.....bloody undead comes at me and my ass is going to hightail it out there. I guess if I was a zombie that means I fell...maybe I got tangled up in the wires from the headset and the rest is history. But the stuff would have still been on me.

you mean like.... EA games? that are constantly plagued at release and for years? /eyeroll
What are you talking about? By definition an EA(Early Access not that evil publisher) game can't be constantly plagued at release. THEY AREN'T AT RELEASE. If they were, they woudn't be Early Access any more.

Please quote MM's post that said anything that could remotely be construed that way.

Depends on who is streaming and what else I have planned. I don't spend near as much time watching streams at the moment. Just don't have time for it on the weekends.
