I've always thought that the sleeper respawn timer should just be the loot respawn timer. That way when the loot comes back so do the guards. Seems like it would solve the problem of zombies spawning in inhabited POI's because the loot respawn timer starts over whenever a player is in the vicinity. The only way sleepers would respawn in the POI is if all players left the chunk for the duration of the loot timer.
It would also give people more incentive to stealth loot a house as a trick on fellow server occupants so that when someone else comes by and kills all the zombies...the joke's on them.
See a change like this could make stealth fun enough to not kill every zombie.

If you have problems finding food, its not because there are few animals...Error Exists Between Keyboard and PC.

Big game is abundant in the Timber biome. (The one with the pine trees)

Forest biome is 2nd best.

Desert and plains suck as all you will find is rabbits and the occasional piggy, snakes are not worth the effort.

The best way to find food though is by looting houses with sinks and fridges...

MUCH more effective than trying to hunt.

Hunting just increases your wellness too with bacon/eggs.
The issue is wasted animal spawns, imo.

But yeh, we need spoilage to counter the crates of food we stockpile.

Then it would require us to have fridges or salt. ( or some similar mechanism )

Still though, itd be rough to balance... Food is pretty scarce till you get yourself situated or have spent like 900 hrs playing. xD

Backwards kiting was more of an abuse of the bad AI pathfinding rather than skill, as many times they were running in circles or getting stuck in shrubs. Running away is not a viable option either as the stamina use was increased. As long as you're aware of your surroundings you can avoid wolves or dogs if you don't feel prepared.
If that was the case it would not have mattered if you were forwards or backwards...and yes you can constantly look around to see if doggies are running towards you while you cut trees or whatever and then try to get out of the way if you spot them early enough. Personally though I don't really enjoy having to check my surroundings every 3 seconds that will get a bit stressing in a 10 minute woodchopping stint if I have to look around 200 times during it. I do listen constantly for Zombies and that works fine but for doggies that simply won't cut it if you hear a bark it's too late.

And when it comes to your claim of abuse of bad AI pathfinding yeah sure I have seen those issues but I have been able to kite them in multiple occasions even when they haven't been bugging so yeah it is a skill even if you personally cannot accept it.

One very easy fix would be to have no running dogs unless they have acquired a target so wandering dog packs would be walking instead of running making them more viable to avoid.

after reading 10 out of 35 pages i give up....lol

new game based on Rollands everdean......

did anyone else notice that the arrows that were sticking out of the zombies the MM shot were showing the pickup message?

how many times can you shoot a zombie with the same arrow??? shoot pick up shoot ...lol

My guess is nobody until you mentioned it :D

Joke aside, you will lose some arrows, they are surely not 100% relootable

You read more angry than disappointed. Maybe you could add some sad looking emojis to all the posts where you are accusing the devs of lying, accusing them of being incompetent, mocking Madmole for how he plays, complaining about the production values of the video. Then maybe you'll seem disappointed rather than just mean-spirited and in the throws of PVP nerd rage. :sorrow:
Not sure where you get that I'm not being honest. I made my joke about what orifice people are yanking candlesticks out of but then when pressed I did make the point that people can create stories to find immersion in whatever they want. I've consistently said I was shocked and dismayed when I first found out a couple of months ago but then as I played I realized that there were benefits. The only defending I am doing is sharing my own experience of having played with it.

Does that mean I am going to say that it will be an awesome change for say..... PVP?

Heck no. Nail #13 in that particular coffin for sure... :rip:
Couple of things Roland.

My cat could play better than the creator of the game so yeah, some mocking is due :smile-new:

I cannot knock you for giving feedback based on your play experience of A17, time will tell if your feelings are correct for the majority though

Your comment on PVP displays your intense dislike of a major part of our community but even moreso its comical because it shows how little you understand of the pvp dynamic because this change (loot) is actually excellent for pvp, I would explain why but i'm sure it would just bore you mate! So thank TFP for making pvp better!!!

Here is one issue with that system. Why can I not just attract the zombies and lead them out of the house?

I know the explanation was to prevent Pied Piper clearing of POIs.

However, previously the justification of forcing the kill to be in the sleeper volume was rationalized by at least you get loot to offset the risk and expense of resources in doing such.

Now we still can't do as any sane person would do and lead the zombies away because they won't count as kills to the volume, but we also don't gain the reward.
Stop using logic Red Eagle, its not welcome here :)

Mainly performance related issues and not being able to walk anywhere without being chased.
Performance has improved and being chased by zombies is the point I am trying to make.

OFC wont be chased everywhere, but mostly were there was civilization there will be zombies.

I agree with this too. I did like the Hub City.
With POI's:

With a high enough stealth, a maxed out melee weapon and perks, I believe you will be able to clear out POI's pretty quickly. A full powered melee sneak attack on each sleeper will see to that.

However, unknowns that could make things interesting will be the "Tricks and Traps" and the Boss zombie at the end (who is hopefully not sleeping).
As I can't +1 you or Sill atm , I totally agree! The mass zombies everywhere ment you were constantly on the run or had to at least clear areas. Now you can just steamroll to whatever location you desire.

Sleepers were a good intention, but downgraded gameplay for me.

Not a fan of the spawn timer being tied to loot timer idea..

I think 'eventually' we as players, should be able to adjust the respawn rates of:

Biome/Poi/Loot, separately in the settings w/o needing to manually edit the xml.

I like having the biome respawn rate set to every 2-3days, to simulate more zeds wandering into my area and repopulating it, to keep me on my toes.

If they set it to the loot timer, then I would need to wait every 30days(default) till the area got interesting again when I find 5 days a bit much already.

If I set the loot respawn to 2-3days to keep the zeds around more often, then I'm swimming in loot, which I don't like. Because then I can get everything I need in only a couple weeks.

Also:

What about those that want to simulate clearing the world of zeds but still want their loot to respawn regularly?

So yeah, I personally think it would be preferred to have them all still as separate adjustable settings. that way If you wanted the loot to respawn at the same time as the zed respawn you could as well.

It just blows my Mind... Some of you People remind me of a Nest full of Babybirds, that are always hungry. Momma Mole feeds them, but they want more and complain about it to.

Yes, the Sleeper's Respawn has always been a pain in the rear End. The Missile-Silo for Example.Once aou reach the Bottom, the ones in the Top Level have respawned. Place a Bedroll... It will prevent that to a certain Scale. Or just don't go too far away from the Spawn.

Zombies not giving you anything... There is just so much wrong with this Statement. Zombies give you a Reason to do something. They give you Experience. Not just XP but also the Experience of having to deal with them - or not if you just walk on by. If this makes the Game run smoother during Hordenight - I will embrace it.

The "Use" on the left Mousebutton... I have no Idea yet how it's going to effect my Gameplay. But I do remember when the Inventory was on "I" instead of "Tab". It took some getting use to. But it didn't take long. I believe it will make your Reaction-Time ingame faster if use is on Mouse 1.

The unlockable Inventory... I think this is a great Idea from a Gameplay Point of View. It is something that differs an advanced Player from a new one. (In-Game) You eventually have more Space than ever before. It's something you have to work for. Be happy that there is no Weightlimit, otherwise you'd really be effed in the A.

What I am trying to say is, that mostly only People who have a Problem with something or think otherwise, write their Opinion in the Forums. This is not an actual Mirror of the Player Base. I would not be a good ComunityManager, because I take Critique way to serious and let it get to me.

Post Scriptum: I am really exited about A17!

It happens frequently in various games where others raid or destroy your base while you are offline. While very annoying and the land claims helps prevent this.
I have never seen or heard about a game that makes peoples stuff invulnerable when a player is offline, people need to sleep some time and have a life away from video games so they can't be online 24/7 and to allow raiding of peoples stuff when they are offline is ridiculous and why this culture has been allowed to perpetuate is beyond me, it needs to change and I think it should start with TFP.

About the loot from zombie that was a think after alpha 2 or 3 so in Alpha 1 was no loot on zombie and we can still get all the loot we want so no need to woried. And about loot drop what you get from zombies anyways just some brass and maybe some paper big deal you have the book store from paper and houses for brass and killing zombie is good for xp and will stay like that. So calm down a bit magicians who already know how will be Alpha 17 before even play it. GG TFP keep the great work.
