*Sets up a Table, Chair and a spot light!*Guys I'm not sure I understand it right but it seems to me people may take it too serious. I was just joking and in no way want to do a witch hunt with YTs giving info, aside from the part of "doesn't seem he let it slip".
Keep in mind I'm not a native English speaker so if I misunderstood something, sorry.![]()
Time for bed for me, I just read that as re-(en)acted. Which was funny, but wrongMy wife and just I re-watched that episode a couple of hourse ago!
ALpha 18 confirmed for Sept 10th.Roland said it's coming out on the 10th! Did y'all hear??!
There you go - have fun.
Crawlers climb up and move across the spikes in a pretty smooth movement. The colliders are just lower half boxes now, so zombies just step up and wade through, while crawlers swim through the upper half.Hey Faatal - thanks for letting us know,
Additional question on that (spike)point: Does that 'lowering the hit box' include a reduction of the 'bobbing' crawling from one to the other once they lose their feet/legs? That makes it hard to aim as well (not as weird/hard as the jumping thing mind). I could imagine that the 'bobbing' is intended, but then its a bit fast/abrupt - i.e. vertical displacement is quite fast in relation to the crawl speed.
The obvious solution is a shotgun ofcourse, but that tends to damage spikes etc as well.
There is a lot of art rework going on, with old/unused art being deleted, higher res art added and many atlases switching to texture arrays. Is the solution for overflowing texture atlases more of a 'band aid' fix, where the game will use just enough space to fit A17's content? Or is it a more robust, outside the box solution that actually makes the atlases a non-issue?
The plains and maple forest biomes were cut to save texture space, as I understand it. So I'm curious if the solution was even more cuts, or something that might actually allow those biomes to come back (at some point: not necessarily for A17.0).
Tested and it has issues. Added to my todo list.hey faatal,
have you tested zombies behavior on drawbridges? on A16 they try to walk on closed drawbridge, they walk on ramp up and down forever trying to reach player
Stick spikes.Log spikes or the other spikes ?
Trying to find original post .....
The zombies near a given player are all using the same path grid for performance and memory reasons. The grid does not know about entities, so it will path through other zombies to you. Collisions keep them from walking through each other and AI obstacle check can see they are blocked, but repathing would still go through the zombies in front of them.faatal
Regarding A* pathing single file. Can the same visibility cone used on the turret
be used on Zombie AI?
In open ground it may spread them out so each still finds a
direct path to the player, but expands the group.
I asked because they spead and surround me once at contact point, if they cant hit me
through another zombie at times.
Im only asking if this is possible to be programmed.
All I know is based on last time. I was able to tell the streamers definitively that it would be the coming weekend on the Monday before. There was a good chance that it might’ve been the weekend previous but then some problems came up so it didn’t happen. But the devs knew once those were fixed they would be set.@RolandI'm trying to schedule time off for A17, how far in advance of the streamer event will the public know?
ThanksStick spikes.
Were all the streamers contacted about the latest news? My friend didn't get anything, but it seems like Glock9 and Kage848 have already made the announcement... I assume I’ll be able to tell the streamers “possibly this weekend and probably next weekend” at some point and then once it’s basically in the can I’ll tell them “plan for this weekend”.
It’s not happening this weekend. Next weekend who knows? But it’s also Labor Day next weekend. Will that be a factor for or against and will they even be ready by then?
You’re safe to make other plans this weekend and don’t waste a sick day this coming Monday. Beyond that is still in flux.
