hmmmm maybe when a17 drops i might see a report with repro on it about this... (i do not have this issue myself and i am not saying it doesnt happen)Hey! What about my whining about Screamer hordes spawning inside base walls?

I find this to be unlikely, Unity makes a significant amount of effort to make upgrades as painless and seamless as possible, its the whole bases of their business model, to make game development easier and more streamlined. I'm not saying that upgrading unity versions isn't without its issues. I'm quite certain it has quite a bit of bugs that have to get ironed out, just like any software upgrade (looking at you windows 10) but it seems like team size + changes /= development time.I think the truth is sadder. They're not working on anything else but A17, however. The entire unity update ♥♥♥♥ed things over so bad + hiring and teaching of new staff. Which resulted in many months of downtime (not adding new stuff) but progressing old to updated version.
Better than Alpha 14.0,15.0,16.0 but worse than alpha 12 and below. First major releases seem to be pretty horrendous but then within around 1-2 weeks they do 2-3 updates and fixes a big swath of the bugs.Does the game work decently after all the updates?
This has been a huge pain in the ass since alpha 12? (might be off on version number, back when zombie spiders were the main horde spawner.)hmmmm maybe when a17 drops i might see a report with repro on it about this... (i do not have this issue myself and i am not saying it doesnt happen)![]()
Wouldn't this be easy to fix like, not have screamers spawn on player placed blocks like natural spawns rules?hmmmm maybe when a17 drops i might see a report with repro on it about this... (i do not have this issue myself and i am not saying it doesnt happen)![]()
I would like to see TFP marry the screamer horde mechanic with wandering hordes mechanic eventually. You build up the heat level, It spawns a screamer that goes to your location. She screams and it calls a wandering horde to her location or her last location if she gets snuffed out during that time.hmmmm maybe when a17 drops i might see a report with repro on it about this... (i do not have this issue myself and i am not saying it doesnt happen)![]()
If you build a large enough base without replacing all of the ground with something else, even dirt if memory serves, the screamer will spawn outside the protection area of your bedroll but within the walls of your base.hmmmm maybe when a17 drops i might see a report with repro on it about this... not making an argument just asking.Wouldn't this be easy to fix like, not have screamers spawn on player placed blocks like natural spawns rules?
Roland isn't the one who makes it.Roland can we just have the god damn Spider meme already?!
It’s not the screamers themselves, is it? Isn't it the horde they summon which spawn in as a ring of zombies a certain radial distance from the screamer? If the screamer summons her horde far enough away from your base or if your base is large enough, that ring will intersect with your base and zombies will spawn inside.Wouldn't this be easy to fix like, not have screamers spawn on player placed blocks like natural spawns rules?
Time and effort. You can already do that but the time and effort required to place, or replace, that many block is prohibitive.what would stop the possible misuse of said blocks to stop zombies from spawning everywhere than.
Trust me i wish it worked like that too .... (but it does not not good sir) :apathy: if that was the case the game would be out by now.snip

That would be great. She screams, and enemies come(from the edge of the area like wandering hordes are supposed to). Instead of she screams, and enemies pop out of thin air all around her.I would like to see TFP marry the screamer horde mechanic with wandering hordes mechanic eventually. You build up the heat level, It spawns a screamer that goes to your location. She screams and it call all zeds in the area that are already spawned to her location.
How about instead of them spawning in a ring around her have them spawn behind her in a cone or half ring? It’s not the screamers themselves, is it? Isn't it the horde they summon which spawn in as a ring of zombies a certain radial distance from the screamer? If the screamer summons her horde far enough away from your base or if your base is large enough, that ring will intersect with your base and zombies will spawn inside.
Someone with a small base or who waits until the screamer gets really close before attacking would never experience the problem as their base would be inside the radial distance. Seems like they could still apply the same spawning rules for those zombies that line up with the protection of a bedroll.

it happens to be an issue that ZU is having now... they want equality to roam the world to seek out new life and free dinner.![]()
For single player that would be okay but it would ruin multiplayer.well. if a player wishes to fill the entire world with player placed blocks, i would think they kinda deserve it no?
Maybe this would work:For single player that would be okay but it would ruin multiplayer.
So i guess it could be seen as a form of griefing in MP.
As far as I know such a system is already in place, it wouldn't be CPU heavy as the calculation only needs to be done at spawning.<snipped for space>
Anyone else see a problem with this?
