Weapon quality determines how many mods can be attached

Mods won't have quality tiers. 3/21/18

Six tiers of weapons. Each tier determines how many mods can be attached and durability. 7/24/18

Weapon damage determined by mods and skill and not weapon tier level. 7/24/18

if weapon damage is determined by mods and tier determines mods, then teir determines damage. i am confuse

no, you re right, just badly worded on the explanation.

mods and skills increase damage, tier increases mods, therefore tier has an overall affect on damage.

so much for end of July :( Hell it does not even say beginning of August now.

Or more aptly: Too little for the end of July. ;)
Edit: I put a simple “August” to cover all possibilities. I just know it isn’t going to be this weekend. Beyond that anything is still possible.
My money is still on august 6 for exp and full release on 26 just in time for my birthday. For them this isn't just about hitting a production target, the pimps need to get ME a present for MY birthday. :smile-new: :distrust: :02.47-tranquillity: :tickled_pink:

In A16, a purple shotgun inflicts more damage than a tan shotgun.

In A17, a purple shotgun inflicts the same damage as a tan shotgun.

It is different and so it is noted on the first page. You are correct that quality tier does ultimately determine damage via mod slots but it doesn’t directly determine damage amount as it has in the past few alpha versions. Sorry for the confusion.

Is this the same for tools?

Can any passing dev confirm that the 100m radius for this is held in the XML files and therefore configurable/moddable?
So it's not just me then. I was thinking If the radius was halved, then it would still almost be too much. For me, 20 meters from a fight and you should get something.

feels like the quality joe perk will be less useful now. Also I guess as you use weapons and tools they wont wear down so there is no point of having to make more than 1 pick ax? or am i missing something?

Obviously...
:)

Devs have a vision for vanilla but they are still the lovable mod-friendly Pimps they’ve always been.
Once TFP put up a Mod Workshop on Steam, then a chain reaction will start happening. More people mod -> More people play -> More people buy the game.

Paradox Gaming know that very well. They sometimes improve the vanilla game using mod ideas. I don't know if money changes hands, but most mod'ers are altruistic people anyway.

Roland, can you ask MM if we can have a set date for the A17-E release, this time around.I know it's not their way of doing things :) But this is really dragging out, for an experimental release.

Just asking :)
There is a set date... its August

I dont think they will have a quality Joe Perk in A17, it was too OP in A16 as it broke the "Risk = Rewards" rule. Now, I would guess quests probably are how you get the good stuff.

Hopefully Gazz will introduce the Boss Zombie (with major loot) at the end of a night horde if you killed enough zombies. He had mentioned it.

*Gaming "Prime Directive": Risk = Rewards = Great game. :)

And August 6th is very close. But, I can almost feel MM weighing how many trolls will howl if they find a medium sized bug (or even a small one!).

"We waited over a year and we get this buggy mess???" Its what Trolls live for.

I'm tired, my back hurt's and I don't want to be nice. But, I will try to behave.
The Alpha will be finished when it is finished, treat it like a pregnant woman, that baby will be born when it wants to, unless you plan on forcing it to be born by C section. Quit whining, griping, tossing childish temper fits about being lied to, of promises that were never made and grow up, find something else to do, but for Heaven's sake, don't whine and cry anymore about it isn't ready yet. I'm tired of reading it here and in other places. okay, I didn't behave, they can just get over it.
Well, if you want to go with the pregnant woman example; if A17 was a pregnant woman, theoretically she would be halfway with her 2nd baby by now.. ;)

You must be new here. We do not have bugs anymore. We have vultures now.

I believe degradation is still a thing, according to one of the vids in the OP.
degradation yes but if say a pick ax wrench etc wears down you fix it over and over it never needs replacing so you never need that material tool ever again. Even with the guns you keep using something it wears down with this you never need a new tool or gun ever again. Why explore if your purple gun never breaks down, why would you ever need to make a 2nd steel iron etc pick ax if repairing it makes it brand new over and over again. Again I might of missed something but if its like what I said it takes away a huge part off exploring and replacing tools. Final words for now, so in this world guns and tools never really break down now? You can only sharpen a blade so much before there is no blade left.

Actually... to be fully accurate the maps are circles with a radius of 10k and not 10k by 10k squares. Kinyajuu said 8km by 8km for the new map but I’m assuming he meant 8km radius.
Assuming circles:

The old map was 314 square km and the new map is 201 square km. If the new map is a square then it really is a mighty reduction.

So there's a map decrease of 33%, instead of 20%. That's a mighty cut. I sincerely hope that the map is filled better in A17 then. Because I already had major zones of the void realm in A16. Can't comment on whether I'd prefer the bigger map over some better performance issues. Unless we're getting way more zombies now as well.

crossing my fingers

E3) Pause now works whenever you are alone on a server no matter what the player count is set to. So if you are the last one playing because everyone else in your group has a job, as soon as they all sign off you can start pausing the game to your heart's content.
I think I love you*

*or whoever it was that made that change.
