Something I haven't seen mentioned in ages.... did the perlin cave system that was delayed from a16 make it into a17? That and a rwg underground network like sewers /puzzle pois would add a lot of discovery and exploring potential.

Have you ever tried to disassemble your scooter at home under water so you could carry it out of a lake ? I think it is good, if you drive your vehicle in the lake you're just screwed.

Maybe you can get your loot out of it but the vehicle should be destroyed.
but real life has much better controlls^^ so not that many guys drive into a lake.

Nope. No news on that, so I doubt it.

there is no mention of that

That honestly sounds awesome as long as its not gated behind a book. I think we have all had games where we have gone 40+ days without a minibike because the book eludes us. :)
I suspect at least the bicycle recipe will be quite common. And I have never had a game with 40+ days without minibike, but I scavenge a lot. If you're more of a builder, it might be better to buy secret stash and get the recipes from a trader.

Also, if you play SP, you can always beat the RNG with the creative menu. And if you play MP, just post a generous bounty for a minibike-book and you have one in no time.

Hey Folks,we have a new A17 preview video here that everyone have seen 3 weeks ago
There are people who get into hysterics about a meaningless video. And there are people who get on with their lives until a specific game eventually releases. I think the second group might have a better idea about the important things in life :fat:

When can you remove the bellows from the forge you crafted? When can you remove the hammer from the workbench you crafted? When can you remove the stone from the stone axe you crafted?
You can’t but those items are still craftable. It will be same for vehicles— and guns I believe. You craft them out of materials and then it is a whole item that cannot be broken down into component parts again just like everything else in the game that is crafted.

Things that used to be “assembled” will now be crafted like everything else. In addition you can add mods to them. :)
I hope it needs a special workstation, because you can't tell me I can build a 4x4 jeep on a workbench, The minibike being in inventory.. ok I can believe that, but a motorcycle like The Hog, or the 4x4? Then again... in most rpgs you can store mounts in your inventory no matter their size and it was said the game will have some rpg elements... so I guess it works. I just hope the recipies are kinda insane for them.

I like the idea of mods though... alot of potental there for some fun things.

Can we make the Jeep with wood, plastic scrap and forged iron, like the guns?
OK i havent read past this yet and do not know if it was answered but this had me dying.

Until the reality hit and I realized you are probably right then I started to tear up a little.

Hehe, you and me both man. I'm all for a detailed crafting system, but this feels like too much of a simplification.

i dunno, i wouldnt mind if it were off the workbench or an advanced workbench or something. The minibike in the backpack isn't all THAT crazy, what always gets me are the 20+ car engines in my backpack.

So if my minibike gets stuck in a lake, I won't be able to disassemble it to retrieve it out of the lake? Or how will that work in A17?
Drive it out. All vehicles are driveable in water, just slower depending on the vehicle's settings.

I have to admit, I'm a little apprehensive about no longer assembling the vehicles and crafting them instead. I hope I'm wrong but, it just feels like we're losing something with this change.

Roland, not trying to be a male donkey here but, you actually can get the stone back out of the stone axe if you scrap it so... that one was kind of a poor example. On a serious note, does this mean that vehicles will have mods available to them in vanilla A17 or was this just referring to gun mods? If vehicles do have a bunch of mods available, I think that might help relieve the feeling of a lost feature from no longer assembling vehicles.

Hi~everyone! This is my first post in the forums.

Just want you guys know that a lot chinese fans is dying to know when the game will be relase.(i know is end of july...)

But they just want to know is it close yet? how close?like 1to10.

(sorry for my poor english, and hope you guys understand what I'm talking about.)
Good day Lufi. There are also a lot of American fans that want to know when it will be released.

On a scale of one to ten I would say eleven or twelve.

Your English is fine; better than many Americans I know.

Yep. It appears that The Fun Pimp reposted an older video 3 weeks later on the steam news page... So there's that. That must count as gameplay, right?
It is most assuredly gameplay.

But when I mentioned this, and the fact that the spider meme has been out for a while, Trolland hefted his ban hammer, so I figured I'd leave it alone and just wait for September like everyone else :)

I would love seeing a sewer system going underneath the cities. Unfortunately, I am not sure how that would work with structural stability. If you have a tunnel going under a large skyscraper, for instance, it might mess with the stability, unless the sewers are designed to be very structurally stable.

I have often knocked down a building by accident.

Yeah that was a feature i was looking forward too, as it would be a gamechanger and make Mining interesting ( and underground prefabs? )

Yeah you're right. Don't get me wrong, if these surprise features are bandits and the like, I'd be thrilled. But the last time a super-secret feature was revealed, it were arrows sticking to zombies.
Yeah i agree. I dont mind those features at all, but the way they present it to us as "The next Big thing" or the re-invention of the wheel.... yeah great guys.... Slow Clap...

Showing it as new and progress is fine at all, but seeing sticky Arrows praised as a new godess while we wait for Bandits, Factions, Perlin Caves and a Zipline riding Behemoth.... is underwhelming and frustrating.

A Long time ago in a gaming galaxy far away I once happened to play a game where you could use a wide variety of materials to build different versions of the same item and it would have properties set by the quality of the materials. For structure you could use any structural material, say you needed a conductor, you could use any conductor. The base material set the end quality. Build say "a jeep" from crappy materials and you ended up with "a crappy jeep", use top quality materials and you had a quality one that would have better stats.

Not saying that such a system would be easy to implement, but it would add a layer of play-ability and complexity.
