Dude careful with that. If you want to know one of the big reasons why TFP substantially reduced communication to all of us, it's because of posts like this.roland, that may be true of alot of folks, however it is not the case with me, i never said the lazy devs lied, my problem is that they arent communicating between themselves properly. for joel to tell us flat out in the video that the jeeps passenger ability was in the game and it would be in a17, then expound on that topic with statements like riding around with friends and the like. these arent imaginary roland, these are in the video joel released. but im done talking about this, keep up your shield wall and acting the troll when someone has a valid concern that is direct opposition to the devs are perfect mindset. you will see in my last response to faatal how much i appreciate the good work theyve been doing. peace out.
not yet but man i am having dreams when i sleep that A17 is released i just can t wait for the masterpieceAre We There Yet?![]()

Out of all the AI changes, that was not a hard one. I just put delays on AI tasks, so they are not all being checked 20 times a second on every entity. There was also some ugly check if this task conflicts with every other task, which was greatly simplified and much faster.Wait so you reduced processor usage by 75% for core AI, dude they aren't paying you enough.
This is pretty awesome to hear to be honest. Thanks for your hard work and I really look forward to seeing it in action!Out of all the AI changes, that was not a hard one. faatal, you must know that there is no literal language that is strong enough to be able to overcome the imaginary "promise" that some people seem to see in every sentence a developer types.
roland, that may be true of alot of folks, however it is not the case with me....
lulz......thats really all ive been asking for is dont promise what your not sure about....
I can just imagine the look of horror on your face when you saw the AI code for the first time haha!Out of all the AI changes, that was not a hard one. Wait, so the only thing keeping us from actually tying a yellow ribbon around the new oak is that we don't have a yellow ribbon item? We really must be getting close to gold. Or at least a18.Blocks should be able to do their own AOE buffs (havent actually tested that, yet) so you can tie whatever you want to them.
Ooh, good, an insider who likes the idea. I have hope. (very slight hope, but it's a start - kind of like waking up naked in the woods during a zombie apocalypse, in a way)I'd vote for that. Before I got this job, I was thinking a middle speed or mode would be nice.
Thanks.Yes, water was probably made 50% faster.
Core AI decision making is using about 25% of the CPU it was using before.
Alpha code should nearly always be really ugly. If it isn't, you put too much effort into it. It'll nearly all be thrown out and replaced by prettier code once you're more sure what you want the code to really do, and how. I'd be more surprised if he wasn't able to achieve massive gains. I'd bet he finds many more places to optimize once they get past the "does all this new a18 code work without crashing?" stage...I can just imagine the look of horror on your face when you saw the AI code for the first time haha!
you jest, but could you imagine a spartan mod? imagine that horde night! And that's a "promise"!
