And you're still just grasping at strawman arguments without providing solid evidence or similar. I don't mind discussing things. I don't mind giving people a proper lecture on how ♥♥♥♥ works - especially if they're too lazy to do a 1min search on google as most people are.

Meh.. I was an avid 4chan'er before the newfaqs took over with their jokes that more or less just run on repeat and gets necro'ed after a week... No one ever felt like they had to prove anything there, in fact, it had nothing to do with proving yourself - it had everything to do with provoking a reaction from people something it did exceptionally well if you had no clue what 4chan was especially /r/.

Feel free to try and make fun of me, ridicule me and whatnot if you like - hopefully I've made it clear by now how little that affects me ^_^.

I do hope you enjoy the amazing weather (if it is amazing at you).. I'll leave you for now and grab a liter of milk because I'm about to have a heatstroke from being inside (and I live in Scandinavia.. It's NOT supposed to be 30 degrees.. I swear).

This is an awesome community, you should try to join it.

Like you, IDGAF about what happens online, but it doesn't mean I have to MAKE it a hostile place just because I can. Guess that's the difference between you and me. That, and you're still missing the point of my original post on the subject. But again, <shrug>.

I have a small question.

Indicators of the speed of recovery and the fall of stamina and health, is what will be in 17 Alpha, or is it an auxiliary element for developers?

Speed of recovery is your hydration indication in the new Alpha. The numbers showing + or - speed of growth/decay is new in the latest build so it could be an intended part of the indicators or it could just be that they are working on balance now so they need a helper stat while they do it.

So...maybe.

 
I asked about this very idea quite a while ago (of them needing to be damaged before displaying the bar).
Well, now that the rest of us have caught up to where you are hopefully we can get some traction on it. :)

agreed. I would love it if everything on the HUD was enabled by either a perk or finding or crafting an item (compass/watch),

Quick Draw (Agility): Enables the Hotbar

Enemy Awareness (Perception): Enables the enemy HP bars

Mindfulness (Perception); Enables Stamina and Health and XP Bars

Situational Awareness (Perception): Enables Stealth Bar

Absolute Direction (Perception): Enables Icons on the Compass

Engineering (Intellect): Enables HP bars on blocks

You are assuming a lot there mate. You state that we get less videos because of negative responses? Where do you base that on? Gut-feeling? Perhaps there is another reason, like the 'newly' implemented way of communication. In truth, we don't know. Therefore we should not make statements like that, and label them as 'facts'.
People 'screaming when a release date gets pushed back' is the reason why we don't get them anymore? Yeah, I can see that would be one viable reason. But there could also be multiple reasons. We don't know. Therefore they are not facts.
Even you don't believe what you just posted. You know exactly why they stopped giving release dates and less information. Argue all you want but it is true.

I do like how you jumped on my first post about this like it was directed at you. I didn't mention anyone by name and you seemed to take it personally. I wonder why.

 
Excuse me, you can turn Gamma up to 200% and remove any kind of Darkness. Your point & logic - Completely invalid and quite wrong. There's already a setting for this.
And I know of no players that don't crank it up to at least 150% so that they can see in the "Dark" (which isn't dark regardless of Gamma setting).

If you can't scan an area and spot a moving figure in the "Dark" even at 100% or less Gamma with or without an HP bar.. You legit need to:

A) Get a pair of glasses.

B) Have your eyes checked because something is seriously wrong in that case.

I can spot a Zombie miles away as low as 50% Gamma. So.. Pah-lease. Less excuses. I know change is scary but.. you will probably survive as humans have ever since... the dawn of our species.
Just because you can doesnt mean others are able to see the same exact as you. Good for you for having great eyesight, now please stop being a schmuck about it. I have eye problems does that make me and everyone like me less of a gamer than you? or that our opinions dont matter?

so according to your logic:

A) grow up

B) have your ignorance checked.

So, you've never heard of computer screens having the options to adjust colour scheme, saturation, gamma, contrast and so forth?
Actually forgot about them, but there's a reason for that: If the computer is used for everything (mail, browsing, writing, design...) people often adjust for good readability first instead of looking for the best setting for games. Well, at least that is what I do. So I prefer to change settings in the individual games instead.

Software (mostly games) has an option for this so that you don't have to sit and adjust your screen every time you start up a different game than you were previously playing, because yet another fun fact: every game differs ever so slightly. One game may run with a higher than average default gamma whereas other games run with a lower than average default gamma.

There is no such thing as "Gray scale". What you're thinking of is what is called "Contrast" and that controls how black you perceive black and how white you perceive white. Feel free to google gray scale and then realize it is related to Monochrome (black/white - gray scale for you apparently). Then google contrast and realize this is what controls how black or white something appears.
Well, shades of gray (definitely not a movie reference pun) are often used to check how well a monitor shows the range between black and white. "gray *scale*" is probably wrong in this context, sorry, english is not my first language.

Compass/Watch is a good idea, and it's been around for so long you'd think they'd go that direction... and maybe, just MAYBE, they'll allow dynamic ui elements via (buffs I guess? onWearItem?) something to turn ui elements "on" and "off".

Imagine that they made the HP bar hard coded in the dll, so you couldn't remove it, without modding.

Thanks for sharing MM. Really been missing your videos, going to be looking forward to them happening more often once the game is ready for you to do so. Loving all I saw other than the stamina/run changes. Will have to see once I play it a bit but that one does worry me a tad. Games that limit my stamina like that tend to make me stop playing them pretty quickly. But back to the good stuff. I think the houses are looking amazing. Love every bit I saw of the one you went in. It just looked so much more real like. The guys are doing a great job with the designs and the traps like you fell through. I also like the hp bar though I know it gets a lot of hate but what I have seen in videos so far I think it is going to be needed. Several times I have thought you had killed a zombie to see it get back up. I am also looking forward to seeing what all gets done with the quests and group dynamics. I am hoping it will make MP so much more fun. Once again thanks for sharing the video.

How would you feel if the hp bar was only visible when the zombie was injured?
That way it doesn't spoil the atmosphere by giving away the presence of a zed you weren't previously aware of, but it does do its job of showing you how injured the zombie you're hitting is - because "realistically" you'd be able to see the effect of your strikes, but because the changing the model/textures to represent detailed damage is too expensive you can't.

Once the reputation system is in it would be cool for it to be a note or radio until you’ve built up enough rep for someone from the faction to trust you enough to meet you.

RE: HP bars

Enabled by a skill but only as a side effect and optional.

Example: Perception improves weapon accuracy and at 50% of max Perception, you can have the bar.

Actually having numerous "side effects" with you basic stats could be very interesting. Assuming max = 10

Intelligence: primary give extra skill points per level.

Intelligence 2: You can read manuals.

Intelligence 8: You can max out science.

I'm not sure I understand your response. Is it directed at me or the person I was responding to?
I was arguing against scaling HP based on gamestage because it just nullifies the progression you worked so hard for. Oh hey I got a new axe and I upgraded my melee skill but zombies have more HP now so it still takes 3 hits to kill them, what was the point in progressing? Kinda just destroys an entire dimension of the game if you do that imo.

They dont care about you progressing, quite the opposite, they want to slow you down because there is no mid game or end game content therefore they do whatever they can, for years now, to make you grind and slow you down. This is why they introduced level loot, god forbid you could get lucky the first couple of days and find a decent tool...
