I can't imagine a Diablo 4 announcement in the next 5 years, but hey, Grim Dawn is 100 times better than all 3 Diablo Games combined anyway :)
I have Grim Dawn; gave it a good try but it failed to hook me. I've tried them all (arpgs) but none come close to the fluidity of combat that D3 has. D3's itemization sucks bad but their mechanics regarding the hack n' slash element is far above every other game in the same genre.

I feel Blizzard will learn from their mistakes with D3 as the community has been extremely vocal about it's shortcomings.

I might give Grim Dawn another go though.

Didn`t know about the Diablo announcement, curious what it will be.But there is other games coming that will be interesting. Like Far Cry 5, Biomutant, Vampyr, The Crew 2, The Last of Us Part 2, Days Gone, State of Decay. And i am sure a lot more if you just look at planned releases.

Granted those last 3 are zombie themed XD.
Oh no doubt there are some awesome games coming out. I was talking more about my main "bread and butter" games that I can play for years plus. After playing the other games I always go back to 7 Days to Die, Battlefield, and Diablo 3 (though not anymore, haven't played in about 2 years)for their incredible replay value. Biomutant in particular looks interesting.

Stick with Grim Dawn a bit, get to level 45 or 50 at least before you give up -- its actually really fluid once you get accustomed to it (this is coming from a hardcore Diablo fan). Grim Dawn just "feels" great.. I've tried games like POE and some others, but they feel too clunky.

If its a TFP raid...who on staff is the Leroy Jenkins?
After the last diablo release, it better be dam good... 3 is such a basic and dry game. Feels like it was made by some no name company as a side project, not a AAA company, and yeah grim dawn has a long ramp up, but it gets pretty dam good. Hardcore is a lot of fun too, it feels a lot less hit and run than d3 hc.

I just had an interesting Idea, We all love and hate screamers for what they obviously do, but what if you amped it up to a radiated screamer that summons more than 3 zombies a scream, higher tier zombies with higher chances for irradiated zombies? What do you all think? or even a feral screamer, i havent seen those ones yet.

I think everyone agrees that the MAIN problem in 7DTd is late game play. We have had very little , if any , information regarding late game issues. The game just hits " a wall " when you get to a certain level. the only option you have is to start a new game...rinse... repeat. I think this is where frustration grows , especially among veteran players. With all the additions of guns, attachments and especially vehicles, this problem will just get worse. New zombies...not just bosses waiting for you to knock on their door, are needed with abilities that make them formidable and a threat to unbreachable defended bases.

Personally I would gladly give up digging to bedrock for more zombies in the world. There just aren't enough in my opinion even when you have the 8 player max on a server that the game requires. Its a survival game..and after a certain level its more of nothing can touch me and gets boring. Having thousands of every in game item becomes monotonous and boring...there is no more incentive to scavenge..hence " the WALL." Too many friends have moved on or the few remaining have turned to MODS to help stretch the game out until A17 drops...Many will come back. If things don't change, it will be the same old same old, and 7DTD will become the old standby game for a few hours of fun or be sent to the inevitable uninstalled game folder to make room for a new game that has promise. Zombie survival calls for, well survival from zombies...not avoidance of said zombies.

Additions to any game are welcome at all levels, but the main premise has to be the reason for them. We haven't had a new zombie type that has added to gameplay at all ...we don't even know when AI might get fixed. The entire development for A17..of what we have seen ...to me...has been underwhelming as far as gameplay goes. I see nothing that will change for players. A few more toys...but NOTHING for the base premise of zombie survival.

I have been around since A6-7 and have faithfully stood by and voiced my opinion on certain topics...quietly with a cough. However, I feel that 7DTD has lost its survival mode and has slowly gone into avoidance mode.

Coughs * IMO * Coughs

There is also4) Roland adds bar segments if people are too argumentative.
Uuuuh, a contest. Yaay. Whoever gets 3 bars added first is the winner. Rules: Max 3 arguments per post, only patent-free arguments allowed, no spitting, no all-uppercase words.

You don't put a ton of work into end/late game until the basics are practically set in stone. That is game development, or at least good game development. It would be a huge waste of money and resources to completely flesh out late game and then change the underlying structures. According to what type of changes you put into something like AI or physics it is possible you would end up having to scrap almost your entire end game and start over.

I see this type of comment on here all the time and they all boil down to this, "We don't have a complete game yet. Where is xyz?" Welcome to EARLY access, early as in NOT complete. If you have a complete game, it wouldn't be called Alpha. It would be Beta or even Gold.

If you sign up for Early Access, you should expect that the further in the game you play the more things you will find missing or incomplete.

Are they ONLY going to wait until you knock on their door?
I wouldn't know as we get extremely vague updates now....but since the behemoth was shot down ..i would say no. I hope I am proven wrong.

I'm still here for the past 3 years aren't I...I am just going from the info that we have and this is the direction I see the game headed. I said IMO...in my opinion.

Lol...true .....nothing secures your base better than that and gutters to keep you from flooding with water that doesn't flow unless you speed up the video.

I'm not sure of TFP's intentions on this, but I would assume that the beta phase would be where they would tweak and test the gameplay through the entire spread of levels. Alpha = rough stuff added, beta = refinement.

This opinion brought to you today by the letters F and U and the number 17.

Just teasing. :p

3) Roland trolls us and just removes bars when he feels the forum is too silent and needs a little hype spike.
Are you a pessimist or paranoiac? Choice 3 is specially crafted for you :smile-new:
I'm betting that Roland will bring it down to 1 or 2 bars, then a couple days later he'll refill the entire meter.

Yes, and your opinion was that late game was the biggest problem. Sorry, your opinion is wrong. If we were Gold? Sure, you would be 100% correct. Even just Beta you would be correct. But, while still in Alpha not only is missing end game NOT the biggest problem but if the end game was there at this point THAT would be a problem because it would constrain any radical changes to some underlying systems to try to fix actual issues.

Umm... disagreeing with someone's opinion doesn't make it wrong, it's still an opinion.
