but tahts the thing a gyrocopter doesn't fly like a plane either it fly's like a gyrocopter. so i guess the ending point would be make it fly like gyro-copter and not a plane or a helicopter. there happy?
A gyro-copter flies a lot like a slow moving airplane. Forward motion is converted to lift. That is 99.9% closer to airplane than helicopter. A gyro-copter can NOT hover which is what you wanted in your original post. It only gets lift from forward motion. It is an airplane with rotating wings, not a helicopter with unpowered rotors.

 
a good stealthy person always knows how hidden he is. moving around waiting to see if the zombie spots you means your a horrible sneaky snek and you should not be doing it.
So visual queues like being hidden behind a tree from the zombies line of site might work well?

and no problem i gots really good with weapons in the Marines.

 
If I have to press and release shift to stop running, I'm going to forget every time. Or every other time. I'm all about having a toggle for this option though. :p
Ever consider an autorun key as well?
Do you forget to stop walking forward when you get to where you are going? It's a toggle between run/walk while you are moving forward. If you want to stop you will release the 'w' key and if you want to slow back down you will hit the shift key again. At least that is the way it sounds to me. I'm not sure why you would forget.

Edit: Roland replied with a much better explanation than this and since he has actually tried it in game I say we go with the way he described it rather than my guess. :)

okay so there are three things you have to remember when trying to be sneaky, there are three visual aspects you have to know. line of sight, distance and blending. all three effect how the person you are hiding from sees you. for example. if you blend your gilly suit well with your surroundings the closer someone has to be to see you. (if your still enough) if your out of their line of sight they can't see you at all but you need to balance that with your own. ie higher then their direct sight or lower. distance is good for snipers because its harder for them to see you.

in other words, irl i know how well hidden i am and i use those three factors to determine my "stealth eye" so to speak. the whole point of sneaking is not being spotted at all. not using your target to determine if your hidden well enough.

Helicopter and gyrocopter are different vehicles ya, you can`t hover with gyro, there is no flow of air to keep the momentum of the propeller and keep it enough to produse thrust. We all are gonna have a good time down there. :)

If stealth ingame becomes so good, this is gonna be just better.

Everything u mention IRL has no stealth digital readout. They are a product of you and the environment, all of which are available or could be available in game without resorting to a magic number readout

 
Also, if you want to see some real life examples of home made guns :

The slam shotgun especially fits the Aesthetic/ looks eminently craftable (5:55)

As I understood it from Rolands explanation, it works much like running in Borderlands series, which is really handy when you get used to it.

 
I still don't get this change to walk/run but for now I will trust you. Just wanted to talk about how I see it, because I often alternate between running and walking while kiting zombies, and I suppose I will have to take small stops every 3 seconds to go back to walking mode. This is the reason I imagine it will be annoying.. people who use short bursts to control stamina.

Also, about all the previous discussion on progress and interesting additions, I think people don't know how much go under the hood to make a game. I appreciate pretty much all the changes in the first post list and I'm anxious to start playing. Take ur time and people will appreciate the results :smile-new:

 
New weapons and animations?

Will we be seeing any cool new salvage weapons like a single shot pipe shotgun and a double barrel pipe shotgun, that would just make sense because this is an apocalyptic game, also on MM last video the weapons animations were off by a lot (which really breaks the immersive part of the game) and the sounds of the guns are a bit outdated, will we be seeing any new weapon sounds as well as new weapon animations?

I did some looking and have not found a thread where this is addressed much less resolved.

I have had 4 minibikes disappear within 20 game days.

Is there any plan to have this fixed for A17?

I can only imagine the work and resources to build the new jeep to have it disappear like the minibike does.

Yes, you can go into god mode and try to fly through the earth to find it, yes you can creative menu in the parts, but it would be awesome if this was finally a thing of the past.

the last video is sick and i am so happy that Alpha 17 will be beta :) it been a long time and something i wanna see as a PVP player is a silencer for the guns i will be really happy if that can be added to the game not just for PVP for the sleepers even you are in a city in a situation that you want to use a sniper to kill zombie or a zombie bear hèhè you don t wake a horde

i silencer will be such a great thing :)

I wonder what kind of mods will be used on the .44 Magnum and knives.

Can we get extended mags for the .44 and a silencer for the knife? :biggrin-new:

Also can we get the ability to name our tools and weapons? Be good for mods and role-playing.

Example: Naming a pistol "Quackers" or something.

Widow's Wail will be a great name for me as a PVP player

Joel addressed it in the first video showing the new vehicle physics. The new physics should make that bug go away, if I remember correctly.

 
hey something i wanna adress that the distance POI that good a feature but god why i can t see my base in a distance too how cool that would be if you can see your skybox tower from a distance like khalifa tower that would be great thing to add i hope that the devs will add the ability to see your base as far like the current POI distance
