Looting every zombie after a horde night could add up.
The problem is, we don't see 7 day or wandering hordes as delivery guys. =)

What of noticeable value to a zombie apocalypse survivor do you have in your pockets right now? =P

Leather belt

Leather belt is useful for many things from tournaque to splints to transporting bundled items.

All you would have to do is find a branch and use the shoe laces to lash the pocket knife to it and you have a spear.

Use the knife and a rudimentary knowledge of electronics and you can split my phone open and remove the powerful rechargeable battery.

 
As you describe what we could possibly loot from you , I remembered about Joel saying that some form of legendary stuff, like unique weapons or tools could be added. Nothing has been told about this for weeks and I wonder, is it still a thing ?

besides the fact that "realism" should only be a key concern for game design in simulators. for the rest, the closest you should concern yourself with is "authenticity". making a practical stone axe out of rocks you got from punching a boulder repeatedly in 20 seconds is not realistic - but it's authentic enough, as you know that you need stone, fiber, and wood to do it. i see the zombies in the same way. it makes sense that they drop *something*. the exact contents of their pockets being realistic for every-day-carry is not as important as the fact that they probably should be carrying something.

whereas making 90% of zombies carry nothing is neither realistic nor authentic. which could be fine, i guess. but not under the *guise of realism*. that's backwards.

 
So I'll ask this for giggles.

In A17 will our character finally learn to go prone/single block entry?

If not will we ever get an in-game explanation that would make sense to our character, living in that world, seeing zombies doing it? -- My character doesn't know all about game balancing, he sees a zombie and thinks "what the heck, why can't I do that?"

Let's just say that for now they are legendary in the other sense of the word.

Did we pick the same character? Because mine thinks exactly the same thing.

Cause unlike you zombies don't maintain their stuff. So after 5 years exposed to the elements and on a rotting corpse none of it would be useful.

After 5 years, there wouldn't be any zombies either because they would've all rotted away ;)

 
Joel, your last video was great, want to see you play till end game, I can tell you're enjoying the game a lot. All those new ballance changes make it all better, and for sure the one who is in charge of them shouldn't eat a heap of glass.

 
Ahh statistics... Can be used to support any argument. You just need more "studies" than your opponent, and you're sure to win. Never mind fact ;)

Yep, and not counted are the numbers who are playing mods. When I play War of the Walkers, I don't go through 7 days, I log onto Steam then go to the link from WOTW, a lot who play WOTW do that, so we aren't being counted as playing 7 days, but hundreds are playing the mods, which are part of 7 days. I haven't give up on the game, just playing mods of it until A17 comes out and most of the bugs get fixed, or at least the worst ones.

Then I will play it probably on Random Gen, then on WOTW or maybe even try one of the other mods. Will I ever play on vanilla, probably not, maybe to see what the changes are, but will do so in creative, so I won't have to worry about starving to death, I want to explore the changes, then, back to the mods.

 
Does this mean that the experimental 17 Alpha will not be available next week? :crushed:
I'll tell you what I tell people that ask in the youtube videos and go but, it supposed to be released the second week of September.

Supposed is a guess, not a guarantee, so, don't hold your breathe, it probably, most likely, may NOT be released the second week, it probably, most likely, maybe Will be much later than the Second week of September. Go it will be out before the end of Nov and you could be right. Could be later, though. With TFPs, you never know when it will be released. Don't hold your breathe, it will be done when it is done.

IDK to me it's pretty obvious. It represents the current status of developers.

As you can see atm 1 is on sick leave, 2 are already dead, 1 is pregnant and 1 is just happy.

 
how about from left to right

1 bug almost fixed, 2 have been squashed, another bug fix has exposed one or more bugs, and one hasn't been tackled yet and is quite happy being a pain.

I never thought about this before reading the last few pages. But, and, i understand the its game logic just go with it statement.

Stuff in pockets how a bout a boy scout knife, being added. has multi tools in one. And just might come in handy opening all that canned food i have been consuming. How is my character opening those now?? :smile-new:

Based on reading the last few pages it seems that carrying a pocket knife is so ubiquitous that the devs just made it simpler by abstracting the whole thing. Just assume you're getting the pocket knives that everyone is carrying and using them to open the canned goods. It all just happens off screen like peeing and sleeping.
