Building the M.O.L.E. through temporary workstation/placeable chassis or through an upgradeable block that you place on the floor is a far better idea than crafting it and placing the finished M.O.L.E. in your pocket.

I know that you can carry a thousand rocks and blocks and whatnot, but there must exist an artificial line that must not be crossed dammit.

Street spawns.....there's an idea. What if the TFP placed more spawn blocks around skyscrapers and larger "city" buildings so when you were in the vicinity there was an uptick in dogs and ferals spawning on the streets. It would make these buildings dangerous to approach.
you mean street sleepers?

The drawbridge would surely already be on the other side of that line. I'm not sure if that'll make you feel better or worse. :)

Like the idea of spawn zones depending on the area. Certain sounds like breaking doors, firing guns, vehicle sounds etc. could trigger nearby spawning zones to spawn zombies out of your view sight (number of zombies spawned could be set depending on the spawn point, be it in a city or a small village for example).

Would give great incentive to picklocks (if they decide to introduce those to the game), and going into towns on foot/sneaking rather than with a vehicle.

Never used the drawbridge actually :) .

Though my remark was meant more in a humorous manner, I still think that adding some more means to an end regarding the vehicle creation, rather than crafting it in a workbench, would give a little more depth to the process, which I'm sure most people want.

Not saying this should be done for A17, rather along the way.

BTW, I am not sure if floating Base will be possible with A17, Hope you understand what I mean. is any work is done in that regard, or will ever be done for that ? I understand that maybe due to complexity of real world physics it won't be solved anytime soon or ever. Just asking.

ha. thanks roland for the viewpoint on twd characters.

i truly hope the console gets them in the upcoming update if for no other reason than to piss off the stuck up pc users.

that way i can happily experience it while hard core (chunder) pc proponents whine.

...Except there will be no disassembled minibikes in Alpha 17: only uncrafted ones. You’ll have to bring along a disposable workbench and place it in the middle of nowhere, wherever your teammate is. Or place a land claim so you can pick up the workbench, in which case you’re also making disposable land claim blocks...
I guarantee you, we’ll have many would-be rescuers that roll up in a 4x4, say “get in!”, and both of them get enormously frustrated when the stranded survivor can’t use the passenger seat they can see is right there.

It’s a two-fold problem, between the 4x4’s art creating an expectation of multiple passengers, and the existing workaround you mention being all but disabled.
To be honest, I didn't really believe his tear-inducing story of him watching countless of friends slaughtered by zombies while he helplessly stood in his high castle of safety and could nothing but watch. My example was not meant specific to A17, "assume you have a 4x4" was short for "if you assume you are at a stage where a 4x4 is already something you would have then you are way past the stage where minibikes is a scarce resource".

He just thought he needed to give a practical reason why passenger would be important instead of just saying the truth: "I want". Understandable, but sorry, that reason is bull♥♥♥♥ in A16, and as emanat said will be bull♥♥♥♥ in A17 as well.

Other than that, I believe you are right about that expectation being created. But, well, the game is full of such expectations, for example the expectation to meet more NPCs after you saw a trader for the first time.

PS: If I were a high level character and some lvl 1 player needed help I could just go to him (even without a second minibike) and escort him to safety by foot. That would be much more fun than just driving him. Are we playing a coop game or a taxi simulation? :cocksure:

Question about military blockposts on roads

Dear @devs, I have small question.

Will we can see army blockposts on roads in Alpha 17 or later?

Army should tryed stopped infection, and for this they should build blockposts on roads, cityes, towns and other places.

On this blockposts we will can see military zombie, destroed military vehicles and other attributs of zombi-apocalipse.

May be bandits or other fractions will create on this blockposts their bases... so many opportunities for this...

Now all roads is empty and boring! It's will must change! May be not for Alpha 17... may be later... but it is necessary

Thanks for your great job!

hehe, I don't care about TWD characters in the slightest. Would rather TFP make their own themes and universe of horror. I hope TWD stuff stays on the console (what little they have) and it stays far far away from the PC. TBH I would like anything TWD related stay off the console as well.. and I do have a console copy.

Yeah, yeah, I'm in the minority on this I'm sure..

I'm confused: It's "stuck up" to be annoyed when people complain about things to the wrong people? I mean, I would be pretty annoyed if somebody kept coming in here and asking when TFP was going to replace their mattress.

I wonder if it would be possible to make a workstation that disappears after a single crafting? That way you could make a workstation that looks like a chassis (and is crafted with the same components you would use for the chassis). Then you would open the "chassis" and craft the rest of the components together to form the vehicle. Once the crafting timer runs out you get a vehicle and the chassis is gone.
Or

I wonder if it is possible to make blocks be upgradeable into entities much like blocks are upgradeable into new blocks. Then you could just have the components in your inventory and beat on the base block (that looks like a chassis) with a wrench and it would upgrade through a few textured block phases until it reaches its final state which is the complete 4x4 entity. So...upgrading instead of crafting.

Don't know if any of that is remotely possible.
I could be wrong, but is it not possible to make any item in the game become a drop using the wrench with a simple xml edit? Some of the mods used this for their custom blocks but from the looks of it, you could add a couple of lines to the xml for the vehicle block and wrench it back into your inventory. At the worst someone could mod it to be wrenchable. Much better solution than asking devs to go right or left with the progress thus far. I am hoping that the reason they made vehicles bench crafted and placed was for game stability. I lost a bike in the ground when I parked at a traders and could not dig to get it out. Took all day to run home to craft another. So pissed.

They haven't talked about anything else besides the handful of TWD characters they have on it right now and they added that long time ago. As of yet console doesn't have custom character build and maybe not ever. I used one or two when they first released and some of them caused issues/bugs to happen so I stopped playing as them. I think they might of fixed them recently but can't say for sure. But considering TT makes TWD games and they are the publisher for console I can see why they wanted to add them. But the kicker to it is they are not free characters you have to buy them so it pretty much was a easy money grab for them.

Dear @devs:
I have a few questions.

Will we see Army checkpoints and blockades on roads in Alpha 17 or later?

The Army should have tried stopping the outbreak and for this they should have built blockades and checkpoints on roads, cities, towns and other places.

On these blockades and checkpoints we would see military zombies, destroyed military vehicles and other evidence of the zombie apocalypse.

There may be bandits or other fractions that took over blockades and their bases... so many opportunities for this.

Now all the roads are empty and boring! It's a must that this changes! May be not for Alpha 17, maybe later but it is necessary.

*Edited for grammar, punctuation and spelling.
This is one of the better ideas I have seen recently.
