There's a difference between unscheduled calamities whose arrival the player can't predict, and instant calamities against which the player can't defend. Rising floodwaters present a growing challenge, while a bolt of lightning just kills you. The former can be fun, the latter not so much. In my humble opinion, any random events should not also be instant or near-instant events.

I started on AI obstacle checking for other animals/zombies and when blocked they flail and push/ragdoll what was in their way. Pretty amusing watching a pack knocking each other down to get to you.
In theory this will be used to push the pack forward, supplement wall damage, assist with climbing, allow big guys to surge through and maybe toss around the little guys (a bit).

[Zombies] will get stuck [on vehicles], get mad and attack. There are some issues with vehicle health amount and taking damage that need to be addressed.
Do zombies treat vehicles in their way the same as animals or zombies in their way? In other words, if you theoretically got a zombie to shove aside another zombie, would it also be able to shove aside a vehicle?

yep as for the blood moon there is always the rainy foggy red sky and for wondering horde we should have like a wind storm sound with thunder (loud enough to scare the crap out of you). this should be the only warnings.

You can make the first horde after 7 days, and all the other hordes should come by chance. Thus, the name of the game "7 Days To Die" will be relevant.

which is what i would love for the blood moon horde... random! there is no "Oh S--t" moment when the exact time and night is going to happen.
i know a lot of people will certainly not want that but then again... most of the biggest complainers probably log out for emergencies during blood moon any ways. :)
Well, one disadvantage would be that it heavily favours miners and builders who stay in their base a lot. Scavengers would most often be caught in the wild, and the blood moon horde is not balanced for impromptu battles. So most players (who can't handle the horde on foot alone) would either just die or (if they have a minibike) drive around through the night (probably back to base, still a pain if you are on a longer trip).

An eclipse doesn't have these disadvantages as you can preprare for it wherever you are and it doesn't last for 20 minutes realtime.

My thinking on the eclipse would be it comes on fairly sudden (with some kind of tell...darkening sky...eerie music...whatever) but like meganoth mentioned doesn't last very long....enough to mess with you if caught out and about.

Just my opinion.

I think they should do a controlled random of sorts, like +/-1 day every 7days. Leave the initial 7thday horde as a start point then the next horde could be 13,14 or 15th then 20,21 or 22nd then the 28th day being an eclipse horde during the day that was suggested and so on.

Gives people time to recoup some and pound out some quest for a few days.

I think they should also adopt something similar to the normal wandering hordes instead of the 1-3 you can get every day. Having it be 1-3 everyday quickly wears out the event status of having wandering hordes. It's no longer a event really if it happens everyday, It just loses it's charm for what it's supposed to be.

Again just my opinion and thoughts, not really advocating just musing.

As far as the wandering horde goes....Is it a fixed number or is it random due to player level? Would love for them to be like 20 or more and have several come in from different directions if a player causes a loud noise( opening doors or blocks) or explosion.....like the Blunderbuss....thing sounds like a cannon!!

I have taken a months long break from the game and been waiting as patiently as I can for A17. Aint easy but I somehow manage. I had a thought some time ago and as yet cannot recall having seen anyone else mention it so here goes.

Take the blood moon and make it happen not on every 7th day but once, randomly during a given 7 day period. Doing this would allow both for long quiet spells where the zeds show up as much as 13 days apart or you could get blood moons back to back or just a couple days apart. I have a lot of other ideas but I will hold my tongue until I see what A17 looks like. This however, I believe would add just enough of an unknown factor to the game that it would keep players on their toes (at least for a while).

From what I can see, a lot of players prefer the regularity and would likely be displeased by such a change. Perhaps it might be useful as an optional setting for those who would want that. But for the main game order it would probably be best to keep it every 7 days.

Random events would definitely spice up the game.
Radiation storms aftr x amount of days on a random basis?

Small Feral GPS tracker hordes?

Rain pouring in on open holes.

Crops going bad. Etc etc etc.
The trackable hords might be interesting.

I would say the more zombies you kill the less chance for a night horde. Kill 700 zombies in a week and no horde.

A serious question about audio. I can easily convert music files for having custom music on my arma 3 server if I choose. PLEASE let this be possible on 7dtd servers in the future! I like to make music and ambient sounds and would love to do this in the future when I run a 7dtd server. OGG format?
...you willing to mod? :)

I often find myself setting the game to 10 minute days effectively accelerating time to move the game along because I am way ahead of the natural curve.

I just saw that TFP posted on Twitter that they were looking for some more people for their team.

Unfortunately, no geologist was required :(

Oh, I like the 'crops going bad' idea. Instead of radiation storms, there should be regular storms first. To prevent your crops going bad or getting damaged, you'd have to build greenhouses. Storms/extreme weather would also add to the atmosphere of the game.

As far as GPS hordes go, I wish they made the one we've got random instead of adding additional ones. (in general, not a big fan of GPS zombies)

Except the music that alerts you to the blood moon event happens lol and then your not so unknown lol.....

Greenhouses tend to increase the damage done to a plant by pests and diseases. Once the pathogen gets in it has a safe and stable environment in which to flourish.
