I'm just wondering if the pimps discussed having a random sun Eclipse in a17. Seems doable and would be pretty sweet to have the skys darken unexpectedly during the day and zombies started running. Or maybe could be modded after release. Just thought I'd ask. Oh...and hello.
Bump! Would love to see this! How screwed would you be when an eclipse hits right in the middle of wandering a town

hey @Faatal Is there any chance in a17 or future of getting a specialty zombie type that only attacks player built objects, like a crazy screamer, this way they are a huge threat on horde night or by themselves because as every other zombie is trying to get to you there will always be one just destroying your base/vehicle/structure/defenses. Just think this kind of zombie would create a huge threat (like the behemoth was spose to be)
Maybe. Depends on how we handle switching to destroy area mode.

@Faatal
I think he meant the parked vehicles, since theyre entities, not blocks, they AI in A16 doesn't respond to them well.
Either way, they are arbitrarily positioned relative to the block grid of the world and if the path grid scanner could see them, it would need to do a good amount of extra work trying to figure it out, since it deals in blocks, which is more performance loss. For A17 I'd rather they just bump into them and then attack them.

People complaining about backpack sizes, be careful, they might get mad and add weight counters! Try carrying a load engines then sucka!
I would love this, tbh. But there would have to be more options for loot transport. Allow you to"pickup" heavy objects, but not allow you to move while overencumbered. Drop them into a truck to haul them. For a manual option, perhaps a wheelbarrow?

His first answer was about i was curious. I think vehicles don't need to be focused until is not player inside.

very similar to ARK. been there way too many times... if i was the builder then my points go for letting me carry things and run with them but nothing went into fighting.. the other team members had to help compensate.

If it could eclipse fairly fast so yeah, you get stuck out somewhere looting...I think it would add some increased drama to the game...but it shouldn't be predicable... definitely random.

. It would have to eclipse fairly fast so if you were out looting you would have to deal with running zombies without much chance to get home or prepare. Maybe throw in a special eclipse zombie too...it would have to be totally random with nothing but a quick darkening of the sky to tell you it was coming.

which is what i would love for the blood moon horde... random! there is no "Oh S--t" moment when the exact time and night is going to happen.

i know a lot of people will certainly not want that but then again... most of the biggest complainers probably log out for emergencies during blood moon any ways. :)

A serious question about audio. I can easily convert music files for having custom music on my arma 3 server if I choose. PLEASE let this be possible on 7dtd servers in the future! I like to make music and ambient sounds and would love to do this in the future when I run a 7dtd server. OGG format?

Random events would definitely spice up the game.

Radiation storms aftr x amount of days on a random basis?

Small Feral GPS tracker hordes?

Rain pouring in on open holes.

Crops going bad. Etc etc etc.

I think it'd be *very* interesting to see this taken one step further - not only is it random for which day, but it can also fire off during the daytime. Think sudden solar eclipse...

edit: Looks like AtomicZen already suggested that so.. uh... yeah, great idea! :D

suggest another thing for your list: blood thirsty bats flying around players

then also was going to ask that you not bring real life into this when i seen "Cops going bad." and then my eyes cleared up and i seen that you wrote... "Crops"

:)

The problem with random events such as these is that unless there's some sort of minimum cool-down period you could end up having horde after horde after horde after horde with no breathing space to repair or improve your base. It may be a one-in-a-million chance but if you have a million players then it's going to happen to someone.

Same goes for the other ideas, imagine having your entire farm wiped out because you were the unlucky person to roll a critical failure for potato blight on every single plant you're growing.

I'm not saying they're bad ideas but the gods of odds can be cruel.
