What? His question was reasonable and fairly well worded.

Whatcha goin on about?
The poll question is bad for several reasons. Leading question, inversion (you have to select "no" if you agree with their idea, which is weird), multiple questions in one, too long.

A better poll question would have been "How do you feel about predator progression?"

My early game deaths, if they occur, are the same every playthrough, usually week 2 when a pack of 7 dogs spawn and I am out in the open. It's very instinctive for me to hear a dog growl and immediately switch to wood frames and nerd pole up the nearest building but sometimes I am not near one and I am dead early game as they spawn in large numbers.

Other predators I get up high and kill from day 1 as I don't play with the trader enabled so need the food.

I don't expect to die. But sometimes it happens. I still try to avoid it. Running around during night without firearms or even a light source, i wouldn't call "trying", that's more like a suicidal tendendcy.

I adept the games changes instead of stupidly continue to play like i did "ever". Predators are difficult in early game with A19. So with that changes i tend to stay inside during night (agian! As i did in A15/16, when there really have been zombies around). Especially as long as i don't have a helmet light and firearms.

Recently i thought i could just chop some wood that's like just 10 blocks away from my front door. Yep... i heared a bear, 2 seconds later i saw him directly in front of me, another 5 seconds later i was dead. But that's not to high difficulty, that was just a stupid move on my own.

Kinda depends on how my game goes, sometimesi can go a game with only 1 death on day 20 or i could have 50000000 deaths.... kinda depends on how the game likes me.

and i like the wildlife to be a challenge (Granted i wish that more types of animals spawn in more biomes, like mountain lions in desert and Very rarely the forest)

but for now its pretty good for me, (aside from zombies they are a wildcard for me, and i like that)

It is true that predator animals only spawn in the forest at night beyond the very rare day time wolf. However the exception to that is the random horde mechanic that can spawn a wolf/bear/zombie dog horde on you at any time or just spawn a bunch of zombies in your general direction.

During the experimental patches for A19 while they were still fleshing it out they played with having predators spawn in abundance 24/7 in the forest but decided to tone it down to only at night.

Now as for the number of expected deaths in the first week that is always zero as I always prefer to play very cautiously as if it were hardcore.

The point of this thread was meant to be more about people's expectations. I only added the second question as an afterthought. It being inverted is irrelevant. The answer I'd expected was "yes" actually. If you expected anything else, you projected. This was not a leading question as you absolutely had to make an assumption to know what I'd expected. Way to take the fun out of a simple conversation.

I always die sometime during the first week, doesn't matter of the amount of playtime I have. I always die either due to me being overconfident or just plain stubborn when engaging the zombies.  To be fair I've a very cautions player but I die.

Somtimes I play single life survival but only when I play alone.

On MP I just play.   It doesn't make much sense to build a server, be the first one to die from a first night feral - and then scrap the entire server while your 3-4 other friends

are still gathering day 1 stone age materials.

The first days is about survival.  I rarely die, but I pick my fight and move slower and keep my head on a swivel.  I avoid animals, find a location by trader and preferable close to the desert biome and I try to clear out a building for a base. I also focus on killing lone zombies for fast xp. I usually invest a point into cardio and pain tolerance  and even healing factor. If you're trying to wrestle a bear on day 1, you may need to rethink strategy!
